AKDHC's protocol does not allow the immediate posting of a patient's diagnostic results to its portal, including blood work and radiology procedures, until the patient's next visit, regardless of when it's scheduled. "It won't be reviewed until that time," is what the protocol says. That's an unacceptable practice for every patient.
An AKDHC MD told me, "It doesn't want to deal with anxious patients concerned about results until the next visit." The tests, actually, are reviewed by the medical staff in case of immediate attention, but that's not disclosed to the patient. All AKDHC has to do to alleviate anxiety is to inform patients that the data has been checked and then post it to the portal. Nope, they won't do it.
Often, however, you can find them elsewhere, such as the websites for the offices that performed the tests. I was informed of that after I raised my objection and said, "If I can get them elsewhere, there is justification to post them on your portal." Also, no, to that.
BTW, as a patient, it is your right to get test results from AKDHC immediately. AKDHC appears indifferent to that right
I asked the medical chief to respond to my concern, in writing, to justify this protocol, from a patient's perspective. I've yet to receive a response other than from the operations manager, who has no authority over this matter.
For many reasons, this practice is unjustified in the 21st century, reflecting a lack of concern for patient care. Uncaring, no matter what it believes.
