They were very clear and concise with their financial detailing as well as being flexible with their payments and scheduling.I've had some financial discrepancies with my prior dentist which made me feel uncertain and very skeptical heading into operations. But Bourland dentistry kept their word on the exact price i would have to pay after insurance and relived a bit of anxiety by answering all of my questions from the Procedure to post surgery. Dr. Bourland is one of the best and I just want to mention that he has the staff to match it. Our company, Digital Ape Dental Labs works with them on occasion. Each time we do, they are thoughtful and prompt and above-all concerned about the patient that we are treating together. I put off having my wisdom teeth out for 15 years. If I'd have known it would be this easy I never would have waited. After some polite prompting by my dentist, I scheduled the assessment and the subsequent surgery. From the beginning, Dr. Bourland and his staff made me very comfortable. Patty, who takes care of the bills and scheduling, is an infectiously warm person who went above and beyond to help me out, especially when I made foolish mistakes like going to the wrong building. Dr. Bourland is very pleasant and engaging, and I felt like he really valued my time. He was very receptive to my concerns, including my irrational anxiety about the procedure. I had all four wisdom teeth out at the same time. They were all fully erupted. I was in and out in less than hour from when I walked in for the procedure. My fiancee barely had time to start reading a magazine once I went back. The recovery has been (mostly) painless and Patty was very helpful in ensuring that my claim got processed by insurance quickly enough for me to use up my FSA to pay the balance before the end of the year. Dr. Bourland did an excellent job removing all four of my wisdom teeth. He is confident, knowledgeable, and respectful. He listened and addressed all of my concerns. His staff at both locations (Richardson & White Rock) were organized, well trained, helpful, & kind. I had 5 teeth removed, 4 wisdom teeth and one very bad corrupted tooth.YIKES! I went in first for a consultation where Dr.Bourland explained what he would do and how. My bad corrupted tooth had got really bad before I had planned to get the surgery, to the point where my cheek got swollen and I was in CRITICAL PAIN. I went in for surgery that very week and was in and out in less than an hour.The next day Dr. Bourland called to check up on me for he was concerned about my health. I felt like he was going beyond his duty where he truly cares for his patients. Two days later I called him because I was feeling really nauseous at work and I had to go home. He then called my pharmacy right away and ordered meds for the symptoms I was going through. I picked up my meds and was feeling better within hours. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND!! I will include Patty, the lady who works in his office, she is extra sweet lady over the phone and in person. Patty sets up your appointments in no time. Great people!! You feel the care and quality they put into their work. Getting teeth removed is scary and something serious. You can't trust all doctors, BUT... EXCELLENT! I waited until I was almost 25 to have my wisdom teeth out (and still would have them if they hadn't started really messing with me) and I have never had any other kind of surgery. Needless to say I was pretty nervous about the whole thing. From the first phone call to Patty, I knew I would be in excellent hands. She is literally the sweetest woman on the planet and was so incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and easy-going throughout the whole process. Dr. Bourland was just as excellent, from the pre-screening appointment, to him calming me down when I started nervous crying before the surgery (HA!). The surgery itself took maybe 30 minutes? My mother and boyfriend didn't even have time to get comfortable in the waiting room before the brought them back to meet me in recovery. A week or so later I was having some pain at one of the sites and called the office. Patty was able to pencil me in 45 minutes later and Dr. Bourland knew the cause immediately and had me fixed up within minutes. I would give their team more stars if I could! There are NO WORDS to describe Dr. Bourland. I can NOT thank him enough...for saving me. I suffered in pain for years. I had no other option...I HAD TO have a complete jaw replacement. Some physicians & their practice wanted to goug me for one Hell of an amount, plus the partner's wanted to exploit the skill of a recent resident pick up. Practice...aka partners getting , but actual skilled surgeon would not have, or see, anywhere near what he was owed. I wanted no part of that behavior. But Dr. Bourland took me in, when nobody else would....AND he had issues himself, but the weight had zero effect on his intelligence and skill. He was set and ready to attack insurance companies if they denied coverage. He stood with me, and I him. He once told me that it might be naive of him, but MDs shouldn't exploit patients for money, when they are experiencing the worst pain if their life. A ton of doctors use that sentiment, but none show they mean what they say. Dr. Bourland put his money where his mouth is....he did not charge full price....only charged a very small fee....as in almost 0! I needed the surgery and insurance paid minimal amount....so he all but gave me surgical costs for free. Who does that theses days...patient's health trumping surgeon fees??? NO BAA DAY!! ( nobody). So, you want an extremely great doctor and and talented surgeon, who can back up his promises with his actions and believes helping "you" is more important than turning a massive profit from patient.....then Dr. Bourland is your guy! I will always be in his corner!! Please, make initial appointment then go in and chat about the docs strategy. YOU will NOT BE SORRY. I PROMISE!! read more

They got me in with no previous appointment by 10:30am and literally and figuratively held my hand while Dr. Bourland performed his professional artistry to alleviate my pain. We were referred to Dr. Bourland for a consultation regarding having a baby tooth surgically removed because it had fused itself the his jawbone. We arrived for the appointment and I was told I was in the wrong place. I proved I was in the right place by giving them the referral letter from the dentist along with a copy of the x-rays, not to mention I had an appointment. We met with Dr. Bourland. He was very thorough, nice and I felt comfortable with him doing the procedure. However his staff is another thing. Every time I spoke with someone from his office I received different information. They even tried to charge me for x-rays they did not take. I provided them with the x-rays! I kept telling myself the staff would not be performing the surgery so just go with it. The day before the surgery I received a phone call from his office confirming the date and my financial responsibility. I was shocked when the price was double from what I had been told. After explaining the the amount was not what we agreed on, they basically told me that was the price, take it or leave it. I left it. I cancelled the surgery. I believe Dr. Bourland is a good doctor but his staff is very unorganized. If you decide to use him, please document everything. read more
