Called ahead to check if they sold to normal people or if you had to be trade only but anyone can come in. Vaguely described what I needed for my project over the phone with someone and he went and checked, found what he thought I could use and then gave me the correct vocabulary to describe it again when I went in. HELPFUL! They have taken over a few different shops on the road but when I went into one and asked for wire the man led me to the right section/department. Once inside I described what I needed and he gave me a few different options and let me test the wire's flexibility before I purchased. It was as cheap as I was finding it at other places and exactly what I needed. Very happy experience here. Thumbs up.

Well, I suppose this is an indispensible source for every developer. I'm glad they are here, though, as there's hardly anything they don't stock, they offer sound advice, and the prices are OK.

Their staff are decent people, in fact a few were very helpful. Nonetheless nothing gets done due to poor communications internally and externally. For instance, they say they inform you which day your items are due for delivery but sometimes they do, sometimes they just turn up without any notifications. My flat is in an apartment block with a reception, hence for small items, it was not a problem but for large items like 2 metres glass panels, it was very problematic. If you leave messages or send emails to the showroom, there is a 1 in 10 chance they would get back to you. The customer service and trade counter staff try their best to help you but are let down by the terrible system and organisation of the place. Having project-managed a few renovations, I am used to things going wrong, it is the lack of communications that makes working with them stressful and costly due to unnecessary delays. I would not recommend them.

Redmount was recommended to me by a friend who called in one of their plumbers to fix the problem…read moreand overall was content with the result. Unfortunately, my experience was far from 'fast' and efficient. I called in a plumber to sort out the leak under my sink. Unfortunately, it was out of his capabilities as the leak was inside the building wall. I have asked the plumber, named Meguid, to have a look at the shower head that also has a leakage issue. Meguid did not have the parts with him but tightened the existing fitting and secured it with a tape, and offered to come back with necessary parts if it continues to leak. The leak indeed occurred again, so I tried calling Meguid to get him to come back with the necessary parts. To sum it up, I had to chase him by calling twice a week over a period of 5 weeks trying to arrange for him to come back. On various occasions he answered my calls, every time coming up with excuses and promising to call back. Never happened! So I gave up on waiting, and called RedMound and complained. They took 2 weeks to investigate and their solution was to call another plumber, pay full call charge again plus the charge for the parts. I wasted 7 weeks waiting for them to sort out what is a relatively simple issue and they do not feel responsible for the wrong doing and attitudes of their plumbers.

Always with a smile, always with a view to actually helping you. The people are knowledgeable and will even point you toward cheaper alternatives that will do the job you have in hand just as well as the product you initially came in for. Therein lies the best part of interacting with the staff here: they want to understand the job you are doing first, and then they will sort you out with the right product. I've bought a range of fence panels, treated wood for external construction, screws and bolts of different types and even had these delivered to my home address.
