I got there in time and was directed first to the warehouse. Warehouse sent me to a payment desk to pay. There i was expected to know how many cuts were needed but I actually only bknew what sizes I wanted to leave with. Operator didn't know but we settled on four cuts. Later it emerged that i had been charged for two sheets instead of one. Next i went back to the warehouse but was directed to go and wait for a forklift truck diver at a waiting area. This took around 15 minutes with no staff knowing anything about where acdriver might be found. Then the cutting. After waiting for an operator bit was quite efficient but i had to help lift the timber. That was unexpected. Lastly back to the payment desk tobget s refund on the accidental overcharge. Due to a software problem this could only be paid on cash not to the card used to pay. So all in all a pretty bad customer experience although in fairness I did eventually come away with what I needed.

I am sooo glad we eventually found this topps tiles!…read more We actually live reeeeally close to an (ex-)topps tiles on Camden road. We visited there first, and found tiles that we liked, although the staff were not very helpful at all and seemed keen to avoid speaking to us. We thought that was a little weird, but when we came back to actually buy the tiles a few days later, the shop was closing down(!) They did have the tiles we wanted, but wouldn't sell them to us, as they had been reserved by another customer. Ah well. Anyway...this meant that my boyfriend and I, along with his parents had to go on a tile finding mission in North London! Our neighbour is a plumber, and had recommended a few places...but none of them had any parking spaces near-by, so we couldn't actually get out and take a look. Eep! In the end, we drove further North (missing the topps tiles in Highgate as there was nowhere to park at all!) We gave up on and decided to look at what homebase had to offer...but lo and behold there is a topps, next to the homebase in North Finchley. There was also plenty of room to park. Phew. After all the driving, and a quick peek in homebase, we finally found the kitchen tiles we wanted...and also found some reasonably priced floor tiles that will look beautiful in our new kitchen. Yay!! The lady who works here was incredibly helpful. She gave us lots of advice, told us what tools, edging, grout etc we needed and even provided a DVD to help us work out how to actually start tiling.

Good range of wood batons, plasterboard, skirting board, mdf and plywood etc etc they have an onsite cutting service and free delivery if you have a trade card. Friendly and helpful bunch of guys that happily put up with my naive questions. Has a small shop selling paint, fixings etc etc always busy with tradesmen so presume it is competitive on price. Part of the Wickes group this is clearly aimed at tradesman (but you don't have to be) whereas Wickes targets the DIY market. They have a hire shop next door. Very useful
