I like Dr. Naz, she is through and takes the time to explain and actually clean your teeth. She is into preventative care and the office is always clean and has nice new/newer equipment. She's in the neighborhood, parking is easy and you are in and out quickly. I think people who take things as being upsold just need to change the perspective to, here is what is offered and recommended. Do your own research and then made a decision. I had a dentist for over 20 years NOT explain things to me and I ended up with hypoplasia (thin enamel due to pressure on my teeth). They didn't detect it, only cleaned my teeth every 6 months. read more

Strongly advise any new patients avoid Thirty-2 Advances Dentistry entirely. I booked a cleaning earlier this week and was upsold the moment I walked in which I declined. Once in the chair, I was told I needed an extra deep cleaning, lasers, a gum test, and crowns. All add-ons that insurance didn't cover at all or just covered a percentage. When I politely declined the extra services again, Dr. Naz's attitude shifted entirely. She seemed annoyed to be there and was condescending. Her staff seems oddly afraid of her. I would imagine working here isn't the most enjoyable environment. To make matters worse, a friend of mine had a similar experience at this office and also vowed never to return. Dr. Naz was amazing! I had a tooth break and needed bonding. She really cared about doing a great job to make my teeth look great. She also found a few things that I didn't know (albeit because I had lapsed on going to the dentist). Her and her amazing team explained everything and she gave me her POV on what she would do if it was her teeth. I never ever once felt like they were trying to sell me on anything. I would highly suggest avoiding this office - Explained in detail below but to summarize it - This business runs like a car dealership. I was avoiding reviewing this business as they seemed nice but as time went on it dawned on me that they run like a dealership heres why: Came in a while back as a new patient and had an exam done. Doctor told me I needed deep cleaning and a couple of other work done including Invisalign. The sales pitch was great, and they were having a "sale". Told doctor I didn't have the funds right now and will hold off on any treatment until I can save up enough to get the work done, and heres where things go south. I got a dirty look from the doctor with a change in attitude and was dismissed fairly quickly. Time goes on and I get the occasional notification reminder that I should set up an appointment, but heres where I think they run like a dealership. Recently (it's been a few months now and I was actually going to call them to setup an appointment and get started on the work), but in the past month, I have gotten at least 4 text messages to schedule my pending work including text messages to pick an appointment date and time thats available. On top of that, I get a coupon offering 20% off my treatment not once but 4 times. Twice in my texts and twice in my email. I get it I have work to be done! But here's the kicker, I get a call after I receive a text with the coupon that I have treatment that needs to be done and to schedule. Its so excessive that even a dealership wouldn't bug you this many times (in my own experience when I was looking for a car). It made me wonder if this dental office is just trying to sell you on dental work and preying on younger clients that seem that they don't know any better just so they can get money. Reading prior reviews, it seems that case, and that I may not need all the dental work that they claim I need. IF I were you, do you research, and be careful if you do come to this office, as for I, I'm going to get a second opinion elsewhere else that isn't trying to sell you on dental work when you told them multiple times that you don't have the funds for currently. read more

This office upsells at every chance they get. DO NOT GO. THEY WILL SCAM YOU and LIE TO YOU. They charged me $600 for a gingivitis treatment and lied to me, telling me I needed a deep cleaning (extra $$) 4!!!!! times a year. I got a second opinion from my childhood dentist in my home state (very reputable), who told me I didn't have anything close to gingivitis. I didn't have gingivitis, period. I've been flossing every day since I was a child because I'm extremely cautious with my teeth, and the hygienist had the nerve to question whether I was sure I was flossing. Every hygienist I've seen can always tell if I've flossed ... bc that's their job to be able to tell... Additionally, the hygienist talked my ear off both times I visited this office about how much he makes a year & the commissions he earns at this office. Been a patient for two years until recently. The general staff are friendly and do fine work. My biggest complaints/reasons I've decided to look for a new dental office are as follows: -Scheduling. Over the years, nearly 50% of my appointments (which I pre schedule months in advance) are rescheduled by their office. When I needed to reschedule an appointment last minute this week, I was charged $100. I get having that fee in place but given they reschedule on me frequently (albeit with more notice but that doesn't necessarily matter when you request time off work in advance for appointments), it just felt rude they couldn't cut me slack for a one time urgent need to reschedule. -Invisalign sales. They must make a great commission on Invisalign because the staff are a walking billboard for it. I understand asking clients about it once or every so often but every appointment is half Invisalign sales meeting. read more

This review should have been done a long time ago. Unfortunately, I broke a tooth and was in a panic back in April 2024. Went to another dentist who 100% did not care about my situation and just wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for everything. Luckily, my mother stumbled across Dr. Naz and let me tell you, I felt comfortable since day one. Not only is Dr. Naz amazing, her patient coordinator Jordan is absolutely amazing and knowledgeable. Just spent a bunch of money to fix the (fairly straightforward) terrible fillings they did. One was offset and causing pain every time I flossed since I got it, and the other wasn't filled enough so it left a large gap in my teeth where things were getting stuck. My new dentist said he was surprised because it's a simple procedure, and said the work looked careless. The more important thing was that they did something dangerous. I have a medical condition that means I CANNOT have a shot with any epinephrine, which is typical in the ones dentists use. Knowing this I said "I can't have epinephrine" to the dental assistant, who said "okay" and that they'd use one without. But when I started hyperventilating after they gave me the shot 10m later, I asked if it had contained it, and was told "yes". I reminded them I'd just said I had a condition and the dentist looked at my purse and insisted my reaction "must've been from something you took". Saying a patient is lying about using drugs or something (during a filling? lol) to try to cover for doing the *exact thing they just told you WOULD cause a reaction* in itself is super unprofessional... and gave me a good idea of what kind of results to expect from them by the end of the visit. I ended up being ok by evening but I'll never come here again. read more

This dentist has the gift of making you feel comfortable, her energy is calm and I felt so safe. Very, very experienced and knowledgeable, also kind and generous with her time( she worked through her lunch hour to accommodate me when I had a broken tooth). The staff takes their cue from the dentist, so they are all lovely and competent and work together as a team to support the patient. It seems like a good place to work. And that means that the energy in there is peaceful and that helps me to feel more calm ( I'm not a calm dental patient by nature as my teeth are sensitive). Definitely recommend if you enjoy a skilled, knowledgeable dentist who isn't trying to upsell you. Bonus, no ego!! Absolutely DO NOT BOOK with this office. They will up sell, up sell, up sell until you finally give in and agree. They will assure you that they have ran your insurance and this is the "only amount" you will have to pay. Then when they submit your claim you will end up paying $800. They will then inform you that it is your fault that your insurance didn't cover the type of cleaning they sold you and promised that your insurance covered and that there is nothing they can do. It's pretty hard to leave a good review of this practice. I have nothing against Dr. Naz (How could I? I'm a new patient and this was my first experience) but this visit was just flat out odd. First, I filled out all the forms ahead of time and arrived to my appointment on time at 2:45 but I wasn't seen for 30 minutes. During the time I was waiting, I asked the front desk guy if he could provide me a receipt breakdown of the $50 deposit on my visit because my FSA carrier needed substantiation. It was a bit of a hassle but he finally gave me a breakdown - they also charge a 4% fee if you don't pay in cash. Weird. I go in to the room at 3:15 and the dental tech was super sweet. We had convo and she was so nice and accommodating and understood how uncomfortable X-rays can be and tried to make it as comfortable as possible. 5 stars to her! I didn't get her name. Then Dr. Naz came in. No small talk, no pleasant demeanor, nothing. She comes in and says "So what are you wanting today?" .... What? I'm a new patient and I haven't been to a dentist in 2 years.. what do you think I want?? So I said exactly that "I haven't been into a dentist in quite a while, I need to get a check up, cleaning, scope out my grinding issue, etc." She then starts rummaging around my mouth, doesn't explain what she's doing, barks at her front desk person about the camera, jerks my head around then starts poking around with the pointy tool. At one point she stops and asks "Do you floss?" "Do you wear a mouth guard" to which I respond honestly "No" she starts asking "Why don't you floss?" "Why don't you wear your night guard?" To which I responded about the night guard that I can't sleep with it. She tells me that she can fill in the holes and I can continue to grind away at the filling. Huh? Isn't that just exacerbating the problem? Won't I still wear down the fillings and possibly wear down my second layer of tooth and continue to create cracks and possibly lose my molars?? I ask that and she says well yes but you said you don't wear your night guard. I'm thinking, we'll yes, but as a dentist shouldn't your reco be that it's imperative that I wear it and possibly I should get a professional mouth guard. It's only after some back and forth that she even thought to ask if I had a professional night guard. The inmates were definitely running the asylum in this appointment. She just isn't friendly or very good at explaining what she's doing or what the best path forward is for your oral health. At one point I was basically arguing with her in her office. Such a wacky experience. I don't have anything to gain, my insurance covered the x-rays and I was refunded the $50 deposit. I give two stars, instead of one, only for their quality of service. My problem, was transparency, billing and service. I pay $700 a year for a Metlife PPO plan. My amazing dentist left LA during COVID, closed his practice. So I was on the hunt for a new practice. I asked around, and was referred to this place by 2 or 3 friends. So I called them, and I don't distinctly remember what I said, but I think it was, "do you take Metlife PPO?" The answer was "yes." What they DIDN'T tell me was, "yes, but we are out of network." Why would I go to an out-of-network dentist, when I'm already spending $700 a year, which only includes two check-ups and cleanings, every 6 months? A fair deal. They said I needed "deep cleaning," which I trust was necessary, and I had two cavities to fill. I then inquired about two crowns I needed. Once again, I trusted their professionalism, and their quality of service. But they also tried to up-sell me on seeing a "jaw specialist," and coming back for cleaning every 3 months, which is beyond my insurance limit. I paid about $400, out-of-pocket, on top of my $700 a year plan, just for a cleaning, and two cavities. Once again, billed out of network, with zero indication of this from their billing person. When I confronted him on this, he said something along the lines of "I'm sorry, I'll try to do better. When someone asks if we are out of network, I'll let them know." I take partial responsibility for not being distinct, if I was not, and did not say, more distinctly, "Do you take Metflife PPO, and are you IN NETWORK?" I'll never go back here, nor will I refer anyone else to do so. read more

I always feel like I'm in good hands here. Everyone has a warm welcome and a smile for you, whether they are at the front desk or working on you in a procedure. They remember my name before I sign in and even noticed when I started wearing contact lenses (even though I myself forgot that there was anything different about me ) They make genuine conversation with you, they have sincere concern for you, and they'll even personally call to check on you from time to time. You never feel like "just another customer". They're also very skilled at what they do and were even able to damage control a botched root canal that an old dentist from years ago had left me with. I would have had no idea anything that bad was going on if they hadn't spotted it. They're also improving my gum health considerably, I have a lot less issues with them already than I did before. It's quite a nice place to wait in. Doesn't feel too "cold, stoic doctor's office-y" at all. I enjoy the comfortable chairs and free WiFi and it helps get me in a good place before going in. A few tips: I highly recommend not trying your luck at parking around here. Just order an Uber or Lyft. The headache you will save is DEFINITELY worth it. Secondly, if you're having any major procedures or operations done, bring a paper/pen, or use your smartphone's Audio Recorder or Notepad app, depending on whatever's more efficient for you. There are no paper printouts for post-op instructions/rules and better to not try and rely on your memory. When it comes time for them to debrief you on how to take care of yourself while you heal, write down or record EVERYTHING. Thirdly, if you are in a long procedure without anasthesia and you bring headphones - opt for in-ear headphones where you can pop one in and keep one out. Makes it easier to hear if they need you to do something in particular with your head or mouth. Oh and best of all, they now offer nitrous with cleanings for $40 and you don't need anyone to drive you home afterwards! I haven't tried this add-on yet, but I'm already grateful for it since I know I'm a wimp when it comes to pain! I'm really happy with this place and love everyone in it and I'm super glad I found them through Delta Dental! read more

At the outset let me be clear, this is NOT a review of the services offered by the Dr or the hygienists. It's about the (gross lack of) service I received from the billing representative, Monica. I'm making this review because poor service reflects poorly on a business and this is the forum for that. After years of problem-free treatments at Thirty-2, I received a call from someone in billing about an unpaid dental claim. I was told (for the first time) that a treatment I had two months prior, a standard cleaning, was not being covered by my insurance. I was asked by the representative if I wanted to pay for the treatment outright ($350) since the insurance company had rejected it. I said no, it was a covered treatment and I would inquire with my insurance about why it hadn't been paid. Without going into the lengthy detail of the insurance issue, in essence, my payments to the insurance company were not being credited to my account even though I had made all of them, in advance, without missing any payments. It was an insurance company issue and I was told it would take a week to resolve. It did not, it took just over three weeks. About 2 weeks after the first call from billing I got a call from Monica. She had been out of the office, on sick leave, but she was now back and this bill was unpaid. I explained to her the situation: that this was simply an error with my insurance and it would be resolved but I had to wait for the insurance company to do so. It was as if I was speaking a foreign language, since she insisted that I pay for all of the bill or at least half, and then get reimbursed by my insurance. I said no, that's why I paid for insurance. She then went on to talk about the hygienist who had already been paid and I was taking money from the doctor, etc, etc., as if she didn't understand how insurance reimbursement worked, or maybe she thought I didn't. Then she told me, if the bill wasn't promptly paid she would send my account to collections, COLLECTIONS! Her idea of good customer relations and how to find a resolution was to threaten to affect my credit. I explained the absurdity of such a suggestion for a client with a long history of patronage - she seemed unbothered. I tried, once again, to explain the situation hoping that she could somehow relate to my experience of having no control over the speed of a third-party and her only response was to tell me that she was doing her job (some set of job skills) and then to say, no she couldn't relate "because she pays her bills". So first she threatened me and then she insults me. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don't know but I was, and am, truly appalled by such treatment. She then gave me some arbitrary deadline for getting the situation resolved, which is all I asked for at the outset. None of this unprofessional behavior was ever necessary. Needless to say, the insurance company did correct their mistake and the claim was paid, BEFORE the deadline she created. I even called the billing department to be sure they resubmitted the bill for reimbursement. She didn't take my call and there was never any outreach to improve the relationship, or to correct for the hostility which she brought to the situation. read more

They didn't properly check my insurance beforehand and then took some kind of premium X-rays (instead of regular X-rays) during my routine teeth cleaning that my insurance did not cover, without informing me (this kind of x-ray can only be done once every 5 years). When the insurance denied the claim they stuck me with a $120 bill. I tried calling their office and their response was essentially "oh well". I would NEVER recommend going here. read more

I had come back to this dental office after my insurance had changed again. I came in for a cleaning and new x-rays to which I was informed of 5 cavities and a treatment plan. My coverage of the cost at $680. I came back a couple of weeks later to get the cavities filled. I was taken in and asked if I wanted Nitrous, and informed of the extra cost. I first refused then after second thought decided to do it. I received the nitrous and the fillings began. Almost immediately Dr. Naz started insisting that at least 3 other cavities have been found. Apparently, the ones she had missed in my x-rays, pictures, and the cleaning I had a couple of weeks before. This was her observation in the moment of the fillings with her naked eye and as I was inundated on nitrous. I felt very uncomfortable as if I had to make these quick decisions on "more cavities she found" right then and there. Which at my share of the cost, $120 a filling put me in a vulnerable situation. She was taking advantage of me and the situation of the state of mind I was in. I told her to do nothing about these "extra cavities she found in the moment" She then proceed to continue with the fillings but not the fillings in my treatment plan. I had no idea of this until the office manager walked in and Dr. Naz told him that his fillings have changed. "We are now doing just the top teeth cavities so we are substituting the bottom teeth cavities with the two new top teeth cavities I have found." I can only assume this was so I would have to come back and pay more for the two actual cavities I have on the bottom teeth that were supposed to be filled in this treatment. Furthermore, I did not receive any information from Dr. Naz, or any staff about coming in for the other cavities that still yet need to be filled. I also did not receive a follow-up on when to come in for my next cleaning. Again I can only assume because she was fabricating new cavities I had at the moment of my treatment. I said no, and yet she still had her unethical, unprofessional directive to not follow thru with the treatment plan that was laid out before me. This is criminal behavior and I will absolutely be filing a formal complaint to the Dental Board. read more

I love this office and the staff. I just had my first filling with Dr. Naz, a repair of a previous dentist's work, and it was as quick and painless as it could have been. I was more nervous this time, with COVID concerns, but felt completely safe in the office. They informed me of the fees and made sure I was ok with everything. I really appreciate Dr. Naz's directness when it comes to discussing treatment plans. She is very thorough, and gives all the facts, but I didn't feel like a terrible custodian of my teeth when I told her I could only do one filling repair today and wanted to wait to take care of the others. In the past, I've felt like the dentist was almost trying to shame me into having all the work done, and judging me when I declined. Dr. Naz obviously encouraged me to get the work done, but didn't make me feel like a degenerate when I told her I could not spend the money or risk potential complications at this moment in time. She also went out of her way to take care of my husband, as a new patient, when he was having an issue with a cracked tooth, and cared enough to give him her cell phone number to keep her posted on how he was doing. She is very good at understanding if you are in pain or discomfort and does an incredible job making any procedure, even a cleaning, quick and painless, more than any dentist I have been to in the past and the quality of her work is phenomenal. Dr. Naz explained all the issues going on with the teeth and recommended procedures and other doctors. Dr. Naz also comforted me on the phone while I was panicking and having a minor breakdown. She provided me with information on a Saturday. She even contacted others to help me. Dr. Naz is compassionate and professional. She goes out of her way to help and comfort the patient. When I first moved to LA, I came here when I had a damaged tooth. This was 6 years ago, but after reading some similar experiences I decided to go ahead and mention mine. My tooth never felt comfortable after the root canal and procedure. I would touch it and it had this achey feeling and pain that would come on randomly. I came back maybe a month later and told them this, and they examined it/did X-rays and said there was nothing wrong. I kept Insisting that there was something wrong but there was nothing they could do. After 6 years, my tooth still feels this way. It's not a constant thing, but it aches and feels really tender randomly. It hasn't gotten worse though, so I thought.."maybe that just happens sometimes with teeth?"Lol. But then, I got x-rays taken this past year by a different dentist. Without me even mentioning that tooth, he pointed to it and asked me about what had happened there and told me that the procedure was not done correctly. 2nd thing that REALLY bothered me about coming here was that after I got a cleaning, they told me I should really come back for a deep cleaning. I (being in my early 20s and new to LA, and VERY low on money), asked if my insurance would cover that - and if it didn't I wasn't interested because I couldn't afford it....I was told that they checked and yes it was covered. After I got my deep cleaning and left, I was called a few weeks later and told that I owed them $500 (estimating I can't remember the exact total now but it was somewhere around there) for the cleaning. I was so upset I was trying not to cry on the phone because I was panicking. Even though I told them about how I was told that this would be covered, they did not care and had zero sympathy and the only thing they could do was divide it up into a few different payments.....I saw that something similar happened to somebody else on here. The deep cleaning wasn't something I even asked for...they kept telling me I should get it. And the only reason I did was because I was told it would be covered.
