Open seven nights a week, live DJs every night (all sorts; house, electronic, r&b mixes) and a pleasant, trendy atmosphere. Hilarious night out, but not the best quality. Been in here a couple of times now, and while I have always had good nights here, I credit that more to my level of intoxication rather than the club. I do really like the outdoors seating area, even when it is raining it is dry and warm. The dancefloor is packed which is always a good sign. The music is nice but I did get started on by a 50+ year old man on the dancefloor which i wasn't expecting. Good night out, but I cannot comment how it would be if sober. read more

We are back to Thrist! When you spend more time at Thirst than in an University lecture and the bouncers call you "Team America" (F Yeah!), it is going down Oxford style! Going to museums and pubs is part of the experience but the next natural progression is to go to clubbing. Don't be afraid. In the beginning of the week the music was wacky but mostly American music. Play Hip hop and rap! This is what we told the DJ every night but skip the new joints and play the 90s hip hop music from California. East coast is the least coast and west coast is the best coast. And yes finally by the last night in Oxford some California love! UK Review: This is a fun place to chill with your mates and get a proper drink. There is a dance floor for standing, indoor and outdoor bar area. More popular new music is played but might not be dance able with some repetition. American Review: Turn it up! Ladies you will love this place. Straight up sausagefest most nights. The ratio is not in the favor for guys. I suggest bring your own group to party with. The European women some were okay but I prefer American. Also if you think Bristish accents are sexy it goes both ways. Ladies and gentlemen love the American accent. Also another pro for ladies this is like a middle school dance. Guys dance with guys and women with women. Don't be surprised if you don't get hit on every second like in Hollywood but watch out for the EU men then might be a bit over agressive. Also, I mean this in a nice way. The dancing here is strange so you will look like Usher no matter how you dance so get drunk and dance. Most locals leave the dance area when we started dancing. Odd but not as strange everyone hitting the dance floor to drink and stare from the corner.words "Fish Bowl". This is the solution for up to 8 people if you want a guaranteed party starter. If I could bring a bar from England to the US, it would be Thirst! Not open another branch, but literally pick the whole spot up, bartenders included, and drop it Stateside. Thirst is great! The inside of the bar is laid out well - plenty of room at the bar, modern feel, and different rooms for seating and group gatherings. The fun continues outside with a heated outdoor garden with several large tables. The staff is fun, engaged, and great at what they do! They made great suggestions (try El Diablo), and even better drinks. My friends and I came here every night for six weeks and were never disappointed. The whole theme is modern and cool, the inside vibe is the same, and Thirst is always a good time! read more

No draught, just liquor, bottled beer and really college kid oriented. I liked it because they were actually playing real rock music and the staff was very friendly. They have some special mixers and shots and a great outdoor section in the back. read more

I can't believe I haven't already reviewed Thirst! It's a great place for a night out with friends - stylish enough to dress up a bit for, casual enough to be relaxing, and cheap enough to buy lots of drinks. The barmen are really skilled, with bouncing glasses and funky pouring techniques. Maybe I'm just easily impressed, but I do like to see them in action. It can take a long time to get served, so try and stand somewhere obvious if there are lots of people at the bar. They have a list of cheap cocktails, and a normal menu. The cheap ones (around £3) are still really good, although there's lots of ice in them. Check out the jelly shots too - great fun. All the drinks come out in great luminous colours, and you usually end up pointing at someone's and ordering the same just because of the colour! I've never had to queue to get in, but I don't normally go on the most popular nights. I've not really noticed the music either, so it's probably neutral club/bar music. It can feel a bit crowded, but there are lots of tables hidden round corners where you can huddle with friends. read more

Quite trendy cocktail bar at the bottom of the hill in Oxford. Pretty expensive for students but the cocktails are very tasty. This is a great place to go to before heading on to one of Oxford's famous student nights at the Bridge or Park End. Try the Mojito's. You won't be disappointed. read more

Thirst is the best cocktail bar in oxford! its famous for its flarers (throwing drinks in the air and the likes!) they do so many cocktails that vary in price. the bar men are great and very friendly! regulars can usually blag a few free shots! there is a dj most nights mainly playing funky house and smoothgrooves and a bit of indie on the weekends. bright and colourful lights and seating you can usually expect to share your table with someone but everyone is usually really nice in there. the garden in amazing recently refurbished after the smoking ban has lots of built in wooden seats and tables with as least 3 outside heaters as well as plants, wall climbers its a nice cozy smoking area. it gets very busy on the weekend so there is door staff and somenights there is a charge of around £1.50 to get in. dont bother going in if it looks too packed it can get silly at around 10-11.30 as many go for pre club drinks as Oxford's 3 main clubs are located inches for thirst! read more

A great cocktail/beer bar where happy hour is daily between 5-8pm and a cocktail is £2.95! Its a smallish bar but is packed with lots of attitude. It has a small but perfectly formed dance floor where a daily dj pumps out really good modern tunes that really get you dancing. Occasionally he hands out blow up guitars to fool around with but - be warned - you must give them back at end of night! as we found out! (stingy :) ) The barmen are friendly and are very good at their job making lots of yummy drinks and you can even add your own ''special ingredients''. They often do some ''tom cruise'' cocktail spins and this makes it all good fun. Wear some dancing shows and dress up. Although there is no strict clothing rule (just the general smartish no white trainers) people here do like to look good! The location is good too as up the road is park end where you can drunkenly finish your night off :) read more

Thirst is where you go for fabulous cocktails in a mix of club/bar atmosphere. It's always lively and a great place for a dance. Also a great pre-club venueor you can just stay there until 2am and dance instead. The cocktails are large and strong and fantastic value for money. The music is obviously very good as there are some crazy moves going down on the dance floor! Friendly staff, good service, and some proper cocktail staff! read more

this place has a reputation of great cheap drinks but the atmosphere isnt so good. I have been a few times but thats all the times i would ever go as i dont like the place its overcrowded and uncomfortable . the staff arent very friendly all helpful in my opinion . read more

Can't say I really like this place much. I can't understand what my mates see in it. The cocktails are of average quality and overpriced, and quite often you have to pay 3 quid to get inside in the first place!! Of course I haven't actually been there for a couple of years, so things may have improved. I've heard there's a new garden area out the back where all our nicotine addicted chums gather to blow smoke in each other's faces. If you want cocktails, get your arse to Raoul's in Jericho instead. read more

Oxfords best cocktail bar. If you looking for cocktails don't look any further. Not the biggest of bars but it complete quality. As far as cocktails go, they are priced respectably. Drinks such as beer tend to be a little on the expensive side though. It is also evident that the barmen are extremly experienced. It has a cool outdoor which is very cleverly heated, so much so that you can relax outside on a cold winters night. read more

I love Thirst! It's the place best to start a night out on Oxford. They have a great range of cocktails, and often have special offers which makes them really good value. The staff are fun, friendly and entertaining, and it has a fab laid back atmosphere. It's a very trendy, vibrant bar, and we've always had fun there. It's ok but a bit grimy and dirty. Nothing at all special and you wait a long time to get served by arogant pretty boys.

Great for a girlie night out, cocktails start off relatively cheap (around £3.00), barman are very entertaining, does get very busy near to the weekend, so be prepared to queue if you're heading there late. read more
