Absolutely shocked to find that I have never been to the spot before. I think that perhaps I always…read morethought it was the fine arts theater or gotten confused or maybe they're advertising is so good that I've seen a lot of shows posted, but never actually had the privilege of attending. Speaking of privilege, a lot of that here. Went to see a show in the balcony the other night and it was a nice experience. Definitely wear a lot of the older wealthier Asheville citizens gather. Certainly a crowd here. Could've also been the event we went to which was a cultural performance. Ultimately, I appreciate that we have cultural performances in our city and a space for them. Parking was a little annoying just because it was Saturday downtown but I do like the space is central. Lots of places to eat at around. Finding it was incredibly easy as well. Inside, there was quite a bottleneck as we arrived about 20 minutes before the show. We did have to wait in line. It was a little bit confusing to figure out exactly where to go but some staff helped. They had wine for sale- house and pricier stuff. The house was around nine dollars a glass. I really appreciate that the staff helped us shoes and gave their opinion. The staff working the wine area was incredibly kind. The stage itself was gorgeous. It was very easy to see in here, no matter where you were.

If you going to be a music venue, get you some decent speakers and someone that knows how to run sound. Upchurch had to stop the concert several times due to the sound being messed up!! Also those big banners block the view! either move the banners back or build the stage out so people on the sides can see who they Paid good money to come and see! Get it together before you bring big name people i hear. Upchurch is a legend and has a BIG following. We were so disappointed! And on top of all that we got stopped on the way out for a water bottle?!?!? WTF!! You charge us 9.00 for 2 bottles of water and made us throw it away before we walk out and go home??? I could see if it was alcohol but freaking water???? come on!!! We probably won't be back.

The band was fantastic and kept the crowd entertained all evening. The venue itself is really cool, and the downstairs lounge is worth checking out if you have the chance. Just keep in mind the restrooms are downstairs, so that may be something to consider if stairs are a challenge. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that our bill was higher than we expected, and we weren't sure if there was a cover or entertainment charge. I'd recommend asking before ordering if you're there for live music, just so there aren't any surprises. I also learned that their espresso martinis are made in a creamy style. If that's your thing, you'll probably love them. I prefer a more traditional espresso-forward martini, so it just wasn't for me. Overall, we'd absolutely come back for the live music and the atmosphere.
