Just a heads up if anyone goes or is planning on going to Third Dimensions hair salon in Port Orchard. I went in to get my hair cut and they have a young man working in there. I have never had a guy cut my hair. I know men obviously cut hair, but other than barber shops I have never seen a man hair dresser in any of the establishments I have been in. I freaked ( in my head) when I first saw he was my stylist. However I decided to give him a fair chance. I should have stuck with my gut wanting to request someone else. I have never been more devastated. I first asked for only two inches of the length. He cut four inches. Not a big issue compared to what he did to my bangs. He literally butchered them. I specifically told him I have a calcic and not to take too much off on that side or it will spring up. I also made it perfectly clear that I only wanted my bangs to be cut right on my eyebrow line. So this literally meant barely anything off. He seemed like he understood. Clearly not. My bangs were cut well over an inch above my brows. Then he actually said to me. I am sorry I cut more than you wanted. They will grow though. When I looked in the mirror, I was SHOCKED AND SO AMBARRASSED. He not only cut them so short, on my left side there was all this long ass hair hanging. He did not even cut any of it in a straight line. When he tried to fix it, he ended up cutting even more off straight across. Still uneven and still long peices hanging down on one side. When I asked for the manager at this point, I was crying. I looked ridiculous like a boy dutch cut or the character Jadis from the walking dead. The manager said she was not going to charge me and could fix it. Fix What?? The extra hanging hair, cutting it even Maby. I literally had to buy fake bangs and have them overnighted, just so I can go to work and out for the next two weeks, until they grow out. read more

I posted on google but it was some how deleted so here we go. I wish I could give a good review at this salon because they seemed very nice. But at the end of the day I did not walk away with what I asked for and I spent around 450 overall. Initially, I went in for a hair consultation, which was required and they didn't even look at my hair at all. So when they found out the next day that my hair is thick and told me that I got a deal, I didn't feel bad for them because they didn't even look. Btw they charged me 300 for a full blonde color and I have short hair. My hair stylist had trouble with the thickness if my hair and I spent pretty much the entire day there with no water offered to me. My hair was literally half orange by the end of it and they asked me to come in the next morning because they were closed, but I couldn't due to my job. They managed to almost fix it by staying back, but I had thick brassy orange bands on the sides when I left. Plus ended up with thickly dyed roots that vary from an inch to an inch an a half deep because they messed it up and tried to fix it by dying them. So it looks like grow out already and I just got it done. My haircut was rushed and it is like an at home cut my mom did to me in the 90s, and does no justice to my thick curly hair. They got bleach all over my sweater and they said "well customers don't think to wear their raggedy clothes." No I didn't, because every other salon has never done this to me. They gave me the haircut free, but I'm getting it redone. So I had to come back another day, and thank god they fix for free. They told me to come in a half hour late and the hair stylist was another half hour late to this appointment. They almost got rid of the orange bands and the blonde looks okay but the roots are still thick. They heat styled it with just hairspray and no protective serum, so it looked and felt really fried walking out. Seemed like they gave up when it came to styling because they didn't finish curling it and just left it half done. I put pink conditioner in it so that's why it's pink in the pic. Spent a lot of time and money here. I honestly had such a wild experience here that I almost didn't want to even review it, but future customers deserve to know. Especially when you charge on the high end, people deserve a high end experience. Not good for thick curly hair! Will be needing to get this haircut fixed elsewhere and pretty much already need a touch up. read more

She's done my color and root touch ups for 3 appointments now. During Covid, I tried to do my own hair. This was about as successful as trying to do my own open-heart surgery- except the results looked worse. So I needed it fixed. Kari is great. BUTCHER SHOP!!!! I wish this was 0 to 5 stars because I don't even want to give them one. Honestly my 12-year-old could cut my hair better than the stylists. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out one sides uneven and the hairs around the ears were not cut. When asked if they give refunds they said no. I showed a different stylist how uneven it was and they said it looked fine. Apparently "this is the style" is what I got from her. Instead of getting my money back they said the stylist could touch it up but I think I'll try cutting my own hair rather than sitting in that butcher shop. read more

i went in very specific with what i wanted. i had multiple photos and i described in detail what i wanted and i felt like i wasn't listened to. i wanted straight across bangs, shoulder length, and layers and i came out with a choppy wolf cut. she also thinned out my very thick hair without even asking me first and my thick hair is something that i take a lot of pride in. in the end i went home in tears with bangs well above my eyebrows hardly blended into my hair. i thought maybe coming home and styling it how i normally do would fix it but it's unsalvageable. will not return to this salon. read more

Knew exactly what to do and went right to it. When I was done I was totally amazed and EXTREMELY happy with the color. Got it exactly!!! Got the cut down as as well. I haven't had a haircut in over a year, and desperately needed one. I have had many bad experiences over the last few years with bad haircuts, it terrifies me to go to a salon. I called at 1pm and asked if they had availability and they did, I set my appointment an hour later. I walked in and was immediately greated and was seated right away. Kaylin, was AMAZING. She completely listened to what I wanted. She was friendly and looked clean and presentable. I have to say, this is the best haircut I have ever gotten in my life. Wow. Just wow. I have used this salon a number of times in the last several years. I called today to make an appointment for color and cut. My hair hasn't been touched since before the Covid madness. I had not had it colored at this salon. I made an appointment for Tuesday at 5pm. Then during discussion with the receptionist, she said I needed to come in for a color consultation prior to the appointment but that I could be seen this afternoon. So I went. The stylist and I discussed what I wanted done. All is good. She invited me to the front to get a quote on the cost of services. $235 (high but prices are high on everything right now) and they want a $100 deposit. Okay...so I give the deposit. After I've given her the deposit, she tells me that if I don't give them 48 hours notice for cancellation I forfeit the deposit. Um...for a haircut and color? I have never paid a deposit for salon services. And, it turns out, they no longer have my Tuesday appointment scheduled. So I tell them I want my deposit back. This is way to sketchy a way to do business in my opinion. Then a manager comes to ask what's going on. At this point I just want the deposit back and to leave. I say that. She argues with me. Something about new ownership and this is the way all salons are handling business now. I would think if that were the case it would be posted on their website, it's not. After more back and forth she tells them to go ahead and refund my deposit and to note on my name that I can never come back. I say she doesn't have to worry. I wouldn't come back. The manager gives me a snarky reply about not being permitted back again. I left after my refund was processed. This is no kind of service business that I've ever heard of and certainly not somewhere I would return to. read more

A month and a half later it is already fading and looks like my hair has grown over an inch and a half which is completely not possible. I've come in 3-4 times and every time I came in the stylists were either bickering or gossiping among themselves about the other stylists or clients and it feels really awkward. I kept coming in because they were able to make same day appointments but after the last girl, who was new at the time, took 4 hours to do my partial foil, I won't be coming back. The highlights were too yellow and sitting in there for that long while the stylist makes a few half-hearted efforts in engaging you in conversation it's just uncomfortable and not worth the convenience. read more

I've been coming to this Third Dimension Salon for little over 2 years now and in the beginning it was great! Victoria was my hairdresser and she was Awesome! The customer service was stellar, from the moment I walked in, to the moment I paid my bill, it was fun, how a salon should be. Robin is my current hairdresser and she is funny and we talk and she is Amazing with my hair! She gives great customer service and she is a great hairdresser. The rest of the salon, not so much. One of the recent past times I've come in I've felt like a nuisance, barely getting a "she'll be in soon" and then being left alone in the front to listen to one employee lecture another about doing her job. It was uncomfortable, to say the least. Or, when the girl at the front desk is running between the front and back, having her hair done while she's on the clock. I get there aren't that many people in the shop, it's still unprofessional. And, while I understand that it can get busy, if you answer the phone with attitude, people don't wait 10 minutes for you to come back on so that you can be put out by having to schedule an appointment. I worked in a spa before, facials, massages, acupuncture, and never have I treated a client the way that I have been treated by some of the staff members at this salon. It's a shame too, I like Robin, but I refuse to pay money to be treated like an inconvenience in someone else's day. read more

Worked for this company. They would clock you out for lunch breaks you weren't allowed to take. Just to save them money and to look as if they were following the law. The front desk girls would steal cash tips left for the stylist as well as anything else they could. The manager would drink with stylist that were her friends in the back and make the other stylist try and keep up with the clients. It was a very toxic work environment! The district manager was so focused on her numbers that she'd make pregnant women work without eating and stylist work to the point of crying. When a stylist left it didn't matter how long they'd been there the manager or one of her friends would throw their stuff in a box be so mean to the person and say don't try and take any clients with you etc. They would never just let people leave in a nice way. I saw this miss treatment time and time again. There's a quick turn over with stylist because of the toxic environment. The sanitation was disgusting! No stylist was made to sanitize their equipment and the things I saw would make your skin crawl! My mistake was I had shared that I was planning on quitting with someone and it got back to the manager. I was told through text messages that not only was I let go, but all of my stuff was gone and not to bother to come in and get it because it was gone. I should have pressed charges, but I was so numb after working in such a horrible place. They literally stole all of my equipment thousands of dollars. I had to start over and some stuff I was never able to replace. The women there are encouraged to tell clients that you weren't working anymore, moved away, no longer licensed or whatever they wanted so that that client wouldn't look for you. I had clients find me later who told me crazy stories that they were told when they asked about me. None of which were remotely true and believe it or not that was me leaving on good terms compared to others. They also claimed tips "for me" on my taxes I never received. So not only did they steal money, they make you pay taxes on it. When I asked one time why I had so many hours missing from a pay check they told me they took out extra lunches etc to "make my times look better". I had work almost 8 hours free for them in a pay period and that usually brought them in over 2,000 typically. Yet they couldn't pay us or be bothered to even replace broken equipment. I would have the manager say let me shampoo for so you can take the next client and sometimes even have receptionist do it. Which is illegal. Even if you weren't comfortable with not finishing your client and wanted to keep working to ensure the quality of your work. They were so focused on getting the numbers for their bonus's that customer service and stylist didn't matter. After working nonstop all day they'd have the nerve to steal from you. The manager is a drunk and I hope someday the company is held accountable for their actions. If you go here look around. Notice stylist don't stay long. Notice they don't seem really happy. I cannot say enough awesome things about this place, so buckle up, people. It's story time! In about mid February, I had a convention to go to (Wizard World Comic Con). The whole purpose of going was to meet a large group of celebrities that I idolize (Critical Role, for those in the know). Before I left for the con, I got my hair done at Third Dimension. I had already been there a number of times before and I LOVE the people there. They are friendly and amazing. So I went there to get my hair re-dyed, pink. My stylist, Robin, said she had a brilliant idea and suggested I go a brighter route than I previously had (it was pastel pink before). I told her to go for it, and a couple hours later, there I sit with AWESOME bubble-gum pink hair. Now, skip to a day or two later when I'm at the convention, nearing a panic attack about 10 feet from these celebrities (no, seriously... It was stressful!). The group had a Q&A panel before their big signing, so I decided to do that first. It went great! And afterwards I got in line for the signing. I was shaking and nervous as hell to meet these 6 fantastic people, but finally I got up to the first person in the signing line, Taliesin Jaffe. The first thing he said to me, before I could open my mouth was "I've been watching you for an hour." I managed to squeak out a very stunned "...Huh?" while the next person in line, Sam Riegel, nodded in agreement. "You're hair!" Said Taliesin, "I love it! I could see you in the crowd at the panel and I was just watching you the whole time, thinking 'Man I miss having pink hair!'" I was so in shock, I didn't know what to say! I stuttered out a thank-you and started making my way down this line of celebs. All of them complimented me on my hair, and it was amazing! The next day of the con, I actually went back to the signing booth to get a second signature from Taliesin Jaffe and Matthew Mercer. They both recognised and remembered me and Taliesin again began telling me what kind of pink hair he was wanting to get and "if I get pink hair now, it's all your fault." On top of this, I ended up getting recognized for my hair all over the con! Including being pointed out in a picture that was posted to Twitter and receiving several compliments, and people spotting me or remembering me for my "cotton candy hair". When I got back from the convention, I immediately went back to the salon, found my stylist, and proceeded to thank her a thousand times over. Her suggestion and FANTASTIC job did more than just help me stand out in a crowd... It literally gave me the confidence I needed to meet my idols. Seriously! These people understand that the right hairstyle isn't just about making you look good, but making you feel great! And that's so important, when everything in this world lately tries to tell you how wrong everything you do is, it's great to just have everyone pause for a second and say "Hey... I love your hair!" So if you're wanting some place that treats you like you're family, and will make you look good enough to catch a celebrity's eye, this is where you want to go! ;) read more

I got a trim today by "the girl with the pink hair" hehe. I was on the search for someone who would give my hair a slight trim while keeping it's length & giving it some body. My longest layer is a little past my bottom & it's pretty healthy cause I maintain it myself. (I know, most professionals don't recommend it). She was pleasantly surprised how I was able to keep it nice healthy. Going on at least 3-4 years of doing it myself, it needed some life from a professional & I was so nervous! She did an amazing job!!! Knew exactly what I wanted & did just that. She only charged $27 for a wash, cut, & style. :) I'm so bad with names but she's the girl with the pink, partially shaved hair. My cut looks nothing like the picture!! it's about 2 inches too short and it's just a terrible cut. I wanted a cut like Sophia Vergera, and she gave a shoulder length bob. I was referred to Third Dimension by a new acquaintance since we just moved to this area. I booked the appointment and then read the reviews-I almost called to cancel because according to the reviewers I had a 50/50 chance of getting a good cut. Seems like half the customers love them and half hate them. I am very happy with my cut by Christine, who also has naturally curly hair. She listened to what I wanted, how my hair behaved, looked carefully at the pics I brought, and made a recommendation based on my face shape to slightly alter the cut. She was friendly, professional, and not at all pushy. She took her time and made sure it was right. The price was very fair - $30. I will definitely come back to see her! The only reason I went with 4 instead of 5 stars had nothing to do with Christine or her skills, but rather when I walked in there was no one there to greet me. I stood around for a minute and decided to wonder around on my own to find the restroom. But hey-everyone gets busy or distracted. The staff were all friendly and cheerful. read more
