Double burger with 100 lbs of bacon.

This is the kind of place you wish existed around the corner of where you lived. Great food, fresh ingredients, quick and extremely friendly service. The prices are ridiculously cheap. If you're in Hazleton you can't miss this place. Besides, this place has been around for at least 5 decades. I got the cold cut hoagie one day and a double cheeseburger with bacon (greasy and abundant) the next day. I came back two other times in the following months and made it a point to get the chicken, peppers, cheese, ham and egg, sandwich.

Great chow for lunch. Good prices. A nice local joint for quick good food. Remember this, they only serve sandwiches. Try the bacon cheeseburger w/ everything or the chicken chip steak and cheese hoagie with everything, except peppers.

The neighborhood eatery, candy store or just a hang out, Third Base was all of these for me growing up. Living d block away I was her everyday growing up for a hoagie, penny candy, playing the juke box or playing the video games that once had a place here. A family owned place in its entire existence, the Base always made you feel like you were family as well. The food here is made today as it has been since I was a kid. No changes you ask? When you put out quality food for so many years why would you need to. The cold cut which is my go to tastes the same ever time you get one for as long as you can remember. Nothing fancy about it just quality meats on a great tasting roll. The inside hasn't changed much over the years and that is perfect. A lot of places remodel many times to keep up to current times but keeping that old school look makes Third Base exactly what locals know it to be or remember it as.

I ordered a steak and cheese with peppers. What I got what a hamburger on a roll with hoagie spread. Disgusting!

Ethan, Rufus, and I took a road trip north to the coal region today to visit Jimmy's Quick Lunch …read more My son and I barely fit at the table and had our legs tangled a few times, but what a great experience! They offer 3 types of Dietz & Watson hotdogs. 1/5 (5 to a pound jumbo franks -- spicy and jalapeño & cheese) and the traditional size. The fried onions I now know, I want on everything for my next visit! They were fried up by a magician, who got great Caramelization action where it counted! We both agreed the chili topping was aces . I'll be ordering the chili cheese fries with caramelized onions on my next visit. The sauerkraut was very good and generously topped the jumbo frank. We really enjoyed our lunch and all the hotdogs. I would prefer more color and cook on the actual frank. The place was packed for lunch and they staff was working their collective rear ends off, so that's a pass. When I ordered a plain dog to go for Rufus, the waitress gave me 3 "doggie dogs" no bun for him. What a sweet gesture for a pup from out of town! It was worth the hike up 309; spending the day with my son made it duly a wonderful day. Meanwhile, Rufus had a full day and is now in his burrito blanket snoring . #rushieeats #lvhdas

We started with a couple of appetizers, the house made potato chips and the Damon's sampler, which were both tasty. For dinner we ordered steak kabob and quesadilla. The food came out quickly, was hot and tasted good. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, and server took good care of us throughout the meal. Overall, solid choice if you are looking for good food, a fun vibe and a place to catch a game. Must try wings with Damon's sauce.

Ordered a Philly with fries and a side of mac and cheese. The "fresh cut fries" came out cold, limp, and soggy like they'd been sitting around all day. The mac and cheese was cold too, but somehow the container was hot... so yeah, clearly microwaved. Sent it back. The mac came out barely warmer (still mid at best), and I only ate it because I was starving. The fries finally came back hot--but now they were drenched in grease and still terrible. So either cold and soggy or hot and oily... pick your struggle. Then the manager, Lisa, comes out yelling about how they're "fresh cut fries." Ma'am, fresh cut doesn't mean inedible. You can scream "fresh" all you want, it doesn't fix bad food. Jen deserves a raise. Lisa needs a reality check and probably shouldn't be managing anything involving customers. Save your money. Seriously.

It was a Sunday evening so we went in search of a place that had the NFL football games, beer and good food and we found it right here! Danielle was working behind the bar and you couldn't find a better bartender and great personality ... She turned an unexpected break down into a pleasant enjoyable evening. We started with their bruschetta which was a little different than the others we've had before in that it had black olives in it, but was very good. It was a large portion and came with plenty of toast points to enjoy it on. For dinner we split the fireside special which was a 6 ounce New York strip on Italian bread with fried onions & peppers. We opted for a mixture of hot and sweet peppers and oh my were the hot peppers HOT! But the sandwich was very good and all the ingredients were fresh. We met Ron, who I believe is the owner ... He was extremely nice about our predicament and even extended a recommendation on who to contact at the dealership that I believe helped us out the following day with our mechanical issue. It was definitely the service and friendliness of the staff at the bar that pushed this review up to a four star. The people of Hazelton are lucky to have such a nice establishment and great people in their area.
