My son has been going to Think Academy for almost two months now. We enrolled late in the middle of the Fall session. Teacher Bowen not only helped my son grasp all of the difficult concepts quickly, but also helped my son develop passion, love, and confidence in math. My Kindergarten son is currently taking various course at Think Academy and he loves all his teachers and classes. He's taking level 2 Mandarin class, which actually is a bit hard for him. However Teacher Mimo is very patient and even willing to spend actual time to help him in class prep and homework. For the past 2 months, I've already seen huge improvement for his Mandarin reading and speaking. Their math classes are all very fun. My son loves the Think Gate math class and Basic Math. He especially loves the reward system in their app where he can really learn with joy. Their teachers are all very energetic and responsible, and know how to trigger kids' interest in math. I'm so glad to know Think Academy, which I can totally hands off for my son's Math and Chinese. Hope they can open some other subjects as well. read more

My daughter is in the 3rd grade and started taking classes at Think Academy this fall. She loves it so much that we decided to continue through the spring semester as well. The teachers are professional, dedicated, and knowledgeable. Starting off, the evaluation process was very thorough. I was able to get all my questions and concerns answered then. For classes, they've developed their own app to make the classes more fun and interactive. Their lesson plans are well thought out and the participation component gets her super excited! Not only is she developing her math skills, she is also learning to be more thorough in her work and be more confident in answering questions. Overall, they have made virtual classes so much more engaging! We went to their recent Halloween event and my daughter was so happy to finally meet all the teachers in person. I never thought enrolling my daughter in any extra-curriculum math class before COVID-19. Due to distance learning becoming a new normality for my kid's learning, I started to look for extra-curriculum class for 2020 Summer break. Followed my friend's recommendation, I pinned Think Academy as a try. No doubt that advanced technology and systematic curriculum lay a solid foundation for kids math learning process. Furthermore, from my daughter's experience, I think one of the most successful part of Think Academy class is their instructors. My daughter's instructors, Justin and Vivian, are very passionate and professional. In class, they used attractive and useful methods to teach, efficiently and patiently. After class, they provide office hours to help students get a better understanding in what they've learned and even one-on-one instruction when kids feel struggled to master knowledge points. Most importantly, due to their dedication to their students, my daughter soon established a special bond with her instructors. She is very fond of and trust Justin and Vivian, so she is willing to make every effort to learn from them and to do better and better. I'll say that these adorable and professional instructors changed my daughter's attitude towards math learning, and thus improved her ability in math far beyond my expectation. After 2020 summer class, I continued to enroll my kid in long-term class, because Think Academy really can be seen as a watershed. Before taking Think Academy class, though my daughter is doing well in school performance, she is not interested in Math at all. However, right now, as Think Academy class becomes one of her favorite moment on weekends, she does not only achieve a leap of progress in math, such as operations ability, solving word problems, abstract and logic thinking, but most importantly, she raises her interest and builds her confidence in learning math. read more

I had my kids tried many local math after school programs before Think Academy came to the Bay area. After my 7 years old son tried Think Academy's class and met the local teachers, he kept asking when he could go there again, then I knew that Think academy is his favorite place to go in terms of learning math! I'm very impressed by the passion and energy that Think academy teachers bring to the class, even for the remote learning during the past few months, their online teaching App is very well designed and my son can stay engaged during 2-hours long lesson! My daughter tried a basic math class for this past month. Initially, I was worried that my daughter won't like it because it was online. But so far, she really enjoyed it! My 2nd grade son just finished the Spring semester with Think Academy. Both my 7 years old and I are huge fans. My son is eager for Saturday's 2 hours of math (unfortunately over iPad during the quarantine). From the well thought out LEGO module like math blocks, structured class participation, to weekly homework and advanced contests level challenges, my son is building not only the foundation for logic thinking, but more importantly, the confidence and work habits. From writing out thinking steps, to double checking his answers, I am delighted to follow his every step of math adventure. Last but not least, Danni, our local teacher is amazing! Our daughter took a trial online class earlier this year. The class was engaging so we decided to enroll. It's a great decision made, her teachers, Justin and Vivian, are enthusiastic, they are doing a wonderful job to instruct the difficult Math content in a way that kids can fully consume and enjoy, even at young age. We are so happy to see that she has built up interests in Math, and can now deal with challenging Math problems for her age. Although all the classes have to be offered online right now due to the pandemic, Think Academy has done a wonderful job using cutting edge technology to make the online teaching experience inclusive. They built an interactive app for lecture, class preview, homework, which in my opinion is better than any other virtual class apps she has used. They also offers non-mandatory but gamified Math activities for kids to choose from and have fun. read more

My 4th grade son has been polishing the math skill in think academy for a while. The teachers do a great a job during the class sessions and they are also very responsible for the after-class follow up to explain and answer any questions we have. I will recommend Think Academy to all kids. They have a dream team of star teachers and best learning programs of math. Our experiences with Think are just fantastic. My son is a 3rd grader. He loves math. After extensive research, I decided to go with Think Academy. After a 1 on 1 evaluation, he was suggested to enroll in the level 3 mastery class. My son is a fan of Ms. Ivy, his local teacher. Ms. Ivy graduated from Yale University and was ranked top 3 in the 2014 National TEAMS competition in the US. We witnessed her strong passion in math and teaching. Her presentation is clear, attractive, and encouraging. After 13 mastery classes, my son made a big improvement and passed Think's ACE test which is an upper level test for math competition classes. Most importantly, my son is more confident and enjoys math more. My daughter is a kindergartener. I wanted to help her develop some interest in math. So I enrolled her in an attention boost class. From then on, she fell in love with math and her local teacher, Ms. Ashley. Ms. Ashley is really fun. She knows how to interact with young kids. The class was once a week so my daughter expected to see her every week. My daughter was a kind of quiet girl but now she is active in class, answering questions and expressing her opinions. When I asked her if she's willing to continue taking Ms. Ashley's classes, she affirmed without hesitation. So one after one, I enrolled her in classes of little detective, memory and magic craft. Think's programs are for all kids at different levels, from basic, advance, mastery and then to competition. Their App for class, ThinkHub, is well designed, easy to use and interact with teachers. My son joined the summer camp this year. I just learned that they focused on exams and how to solve a particular problem rather than making sure the kids understand the knowledge deeply and can figure out the solutions themselves. They kept saying this problem will be in the exam, etc. I am hoping the kids could learn the logic thinking and figure out the way to solve the problems themselves rather than focusing on the so called "techniques" and memorizing the solutions. Compared to AOPS and Alphastar, this school is not worth trying at all. read more

My kid (G4) joined Think Academy for almost one year. We have tried many different math programs before. Think Academy is our favorite choice for sure. 1) All teachers are young and graduate from top schools in US. They are super smart, energetic, and truly passionate about teaching. They well prepare each class, and consistently improve the teaching method based upon students' feedback. They also offer free office hours to help students with homework and timely review the new concepts each week. My kid loves her teacher! 2) The program well engage students. Each class properly balanced the lecture and practice time. Student are motivated to share their work and explain the logic to the rest of the classroom. Two hour class is intensive, but my kid is excited every time. 3) The program has a well developed application to support online classes. Teacher's notes, class video, homework submission, and teacher feedback are all centralized in one place. It super helpful for students go back to review the content, or for parents to understand the class progress. My son has been taking up Think Academy classes from almost an year now. All of us in our family are huge fans and my son is always waiting for his Math lessons on Saturdays. They course is very well structure, the support kids get to understand is particular concept is immense. My son had difficulty to understand a problem and his teacher Ms Ashley made sure he understands it completely. I have heard about Think Academy from my friends in China long time ago. So when they came to the bay area, I was very excited. My son is eight years old. He likes math very much, but his school math is far from challenging for him. After communicating with the teachers of Think Academy, I took my son to a trail class. There, we met James, Danni, and a few other teachers. They are young, funny, energetic, and patient. We were immediately impressed by their passions about education. Kids also love them. They did a thorough evaluation of my son's math level and provided detailed analysis of his strengths and weakness in each math topic. Since then, we have attended three long-term classes and several short-term classes. The class is long, two hours and a half, and the math is much more advanced than the school system. However, I was surprised that my eight years old could sit through the entire class. Furthermore, he would oftentimes continue doing the homework after the class. Overall, we are very satisfied with Think Academy and their teachers. In particular, my son's teacher James is amazing. He also frequently communicates with the parents outside class. No matter what time we ask a question, he would reply in less than a second. Last but not least, my son learned how to take notes from this class. My daughter has been studying math with Think Academy since its inception in Bay Area, and it has been an amazing experience! Their curriculum is well designed incorporating fundamental math concepts and challenging problems in a very structured way. We enrolled our kindergartener in some mini series to supplement school's online class this fall. The materials suited his age very well and all kids in the classroom seemed very engaged. Teacher Connor was always very enthusiastic, at the same time very experienced and patient while interacting with little kids. Think Academy has an excellent and unique math curriculum that goes beyond what's covered at my kids' schools. It incorporates logic, critical thinking, pattern recognition and several other skillsets that are rarely found in a math enrichment course (e.g. Kumon). I really like that they differentiate the curriculum so that each child can find a level that is most suited for that child, so he/she is able to feel comfortable and build confidence. The teachers are very enthusiastic and supportive. They have their own technology platform that allows the teachers to hear the kids, but the kids cannot hear each other (which really cuts down on the "noise" that can be disruptive in an online class with young kids). My kid took the AMC8 online course with Mr. Michael He. He is a responsible teacher and did great job helping students prepare for the test. The course classified lots of difficult AMC8 questions into six categories: number & operations, word problem, number theory, counting & probability, geometry and combinatorics. After each lesson, the students will be given assignments to practice what they learned from the class. Mr. Michael He also encouraged students to explain their methods and strategies to tackle problems. After the course, my kid becomes more interested in math in general and his math level also get improved. I would recommend this course and Mr. He to families interested in AMC8. read more

I brought my 2- year old son here for contactless Trick or Treat on Halloween and found quite a few familiar faces. It turned out that we used to share the workspace. So there was a small tutoring service opened up in the same building where I used to work. They always roll out their whiteboard to the meeting room, and for a while, I thought it was another startup doing their business presentations. Quite a few times, when I left the office late at night, I spot these guys, still hovering in the meeting room, weaving arms, asking questions. I wondered what all that fuzz was about. One day, when they roll out their whiteboard, I took a glimpse and found it's all math. Out of curiosity, I asked the dude what they do, and he said tutoring. I did not buy it and thought they probably went too far on their non-disclosure. What kind of tutors constantly do dry runs and deliver presentations? Until months later, I saw students coming and going with pamphlets in their hands. A tutoring service indeed. These guys dry run their classes like stand-up comedians polishing their shows. When the pandemic hit, they moved out, and I thought that was the end of it. Finding them thriving at this new location is a nice surprise. It seems that their online class is quite successful. I saw many kids came to wave to their teachers and shouted out their names. Giving how much effort they spend on production, I am not really surprised by the popularity. read more

My son has been taking math classes for more than a year. He is quite happy following the teachers in the classes, which are organized quite interesting and efficient. The teachers are pretty young but very experienced, always full of passion. The text books are well designed including in class exercises and homework, with which easy for students to consolidate what they have learned in class. My son learned a lot there and he is much more confident on math questions now. I believe we will continue to take classes from Think Academy. read more

My 9 year old boy joined the Think Academy on-site and online classes(due to COVID-19) for 2years. He enjoyed the learnings and I saw how much he advanced in the math progress. TA classes target for math competitions,like math kangaroo and AMC. So the learnings are a little challenging than the school textbook. The class is fun and interactive for kids with kid popular rewards. But it comes with the in class testing questions. kids are grouped in 4-person team competing for a crown with highest scores. It gave some pressure to the little ones. The instructors are very friendly and helpful and responsible for the teaching. My question usually answered in a few minutes even in the very late night. They offer free evaluation, why not give it a try. read more
