I had two 60 foot tall cypress trees needing removal in my backyard. Scott came and quoted me $180…read moreper hour for 2 men. OK. "How much time needed to remove"? I asked. "About 3/4 of a day" he says, which I confirmed as 6 hours. When I called to confirm that he received the job he questioned what he had quoted me, and said that this is an estimate and could take a full day. Justin and Ricky showed up a 8:00 a.m. on time and Justin got to work with the chain saw. After 3 hours of Justin working about 1/2 of the first tree had been removed. Ricky did whatever he could to not participate in any work at all. He stood in the back of a trailer (no chipper in this company) cutting branches into 2 feet pieces and placing them in the trailer. At the 3 hour time point my boyfriend and I started hauling branches into the front yard and throwing them into his 8 foot pickup bed. He and I spent the next 4 hours hauling and taking 2 truck loads to Stemilt that day. At the 8 hour time point Justin had the trees down, but still a large amount of branches in the yard. The next day boyfriend and I spent another 4 hours hauling branches to the front, loading his pickup, and taking another 2 loads to Stemilt. Then we also raked the mess in the yard and cleaned up the street. Had we left all of the work to Scott's two young men they would have required 2 days to get the job done. Bottom line: 1) Scott way underestimated the time required for the job to me, likely so he would be hired. 2) Ricky is too lazy to do any work and does whatever he can to not work at all. 3) Do not hire Scott and his tree care company.
