Having my roots and family in Asia (whom I regularly visit), I had high hopes for this place…read more However, this hope was dashed (by quite a lot) when I read the menu and realized that other than the pork bun, all the other types of buns are stuffed with Korean, Japanese, Thai, or Western flavours. Given I was there already, my friends and I ordered the pork, chicken, beef, duck, and tofu buns; as sides we took the kimchi and spiral potato. The bun itself was puffy and soft, as it should be, but other than this, I was rather disappointed. Everything erred on the side of sweet and was a bit messy to eat. The kimchi was not spicy at all and the spiral potato was just one potato probably.... The only bun I thought was nice and had the perfect balance of flavours was actually the tofu one!
Perhaps my Asian roots is making me more harsh than I need to be. My friends all thought the food was good and I certainly think the ingredients that went into the stuffing were fresh and nice. I remain unconvinced though, and for the price of 6euros per bun, I don't think it is worth the price-value ratio.
