Some of the dishes also came with photos on the menu and the photos did not reflect the dishes at all. The main courses we ordered had decent flavor, but it just wasn't what I was expecting. The best part of our meal was the appetizers! The vegetable spring rolls were amazing-- so crispy and came piping hot. The chicken skewer peanut sauce was great, but the skewers themselves were more like American chicken tenders; not really the grilled chicken I was expecting. The fried wontons were also good. I'm not sure what the filling was-- it was almost hot dog-like, but not. The crispyness of the wonton made up for the slightly odd flavor though. The service was also an interesting one. My family of 5 decided to share everything we got, so when our appetizers came out we asked for extra plates to share everything. Our waiter came back with two plates. For the five of us. We had ordered 3 appetizers, so we just added those three plates to the two that they'd given us to make five but... you honestly just have to laugh. There were also a number of times when we asked for something and we weren't sure if they had heard us because there was no indication that they had (a nod. a wink. a salute. anything). But! The food came out crazy fast, so no need to worry about sitting around for too long. This was our last meal in Munich-- thank you for the meal!

Great Vietnamese restaurant in the Sendling area…read more We had a friendly but sometimes pushy hostess, at times overwhelming my Viet-food-inexperienced friends with many recommendations yet willing to accommodate to my friends' requests. There weren't too many diners when we arrived, so our meals were served to us pretty quickly. The food was good. We started with Thuy's Cha Gio (mixture of spring rolls), which were crispy but not too greasy. The Pho was comforting, and the "Goi Du Du" (green papaya salad with beef) was flavorful. It was a pleasant meal.

As with every new Vietnamese place I have ever tried, I always look for the one dish I see as the benchmark for flavour, Pho soup. As it so happened, their lunch menu had it and so, I decided to order it. It's a reasonably big restaurant and it was almost full when I arrived. The kitchen is open and it seemed, all the staff in the kitchen and the restaurant were members of one family. The service was friendly and the menu extensive. They also have a huge selection of Asian teas here which is very nice. Not many places have a big choice of teas. The pho arrived and it looked fabulous. The broth was intense in flavour and whilst it was not so spicy the addition of a bit if chili sauce made this one of the best Pho's I have had since being in Munich. Prices are good and the lunch specials are good portion for a very reasonable price. I would come back here again and try other dishes off the menu. It was pretty busy and people kept coming in for lunch. A nice choice in the area.

Unfortunately, things was pretty much downhill once we enter inside. We asked for an English menu the owner/waiter just laugh like we are lessor or something. Then he preceded to make jokes with his regulars at our expense knowingly we did not understand. We were just going to get up and leave however we were pressed for time and just want a quick bite. That was a huge mistake. We ordered the spring roll and it was the nastiest thing I ever tasted - salty, cheap ground meat, the skin was soggy and dripping with oil. I knew we were in trouble when they couldn't get a signature appetizer right. We also ordered egg noodle (lo-mein)? and a curry dish. It was not as salty but pretty ho-hum. Yeah.. I never had these "authentic "dishes in Vietnam before. Not sure how the other reviewers think this place is authentic or good. My suggestion is read some of the filtered reviews (they had similar experiences) and avoid this place like the plague.
