Loved this Sushi place in Munich that I found on yelp.com. After a long week of eating lots of…read moreBavarian food, I was craving some sushi. Sushi Sano is a great spot not that far from the Marienplatz area. Great selection of rolls and dishes. I had an assortment of rolls and sushi as well as some dishes such as gyoza and kimchi. Great place! Only complaint (not really a complaint) I would add is that the sushi rice there was just OK. Not as good as the kind in sushi spots back home in Los Angeles.

Bruhs........... Tell me tell you about this place! Ever…read moresince my lil bro moved to Germany he had told me that he hadn't had awesome sushi like in the States. So it was my mission to find some killer sushi in Munich while I visited him in August. Let me tell yah, this place right here... is a work of art! Right from the gecko the moment you walk in, you feel the noise and ambiance of the place. You look at the decor and sitting and you know you're in for a treat. So me and him got down to business, we order a bunch of nigiri and some udon because it was a chilly day in Munich and we need the warm brothy soup they had. The Sake (lachs, salmon) was top notch and the Hamachi (yellowtail) was okay. I tried their Anago which was good and same with the Unagi. All in all this place lived up to the hype and my lil bro now has a sushi place he can call home in Munich . I know for sure I'll be back and the sushi chefs better have a whole salmon for us because they didn't think me and my lil bro could have taken down 30 pcs of salmon in one sitting.

This place is a constant comeback for me whenever I am in Munich. This place has recently expanded…read moretheir seating area to allow about 3 extra table to fit into their tight location. The seating has never been an issue here as people usually either take out or really move on a come and go basis. Worst case you can always check back after 10 minutes and go browse at the local stores. The food itself is great. The meals are served hot but not scalding and the miso soup is the best I've had out of any Japanese restaurant I've visited. It's rich with flavor and contains a high amount of added bites. The meal I always order, which is the Yakitori Don, is teriyaki chicken on a pillow of lettuce and rice. This dish is my personal favorite as it gives you a fantastic crunch from the lettuce, a great flavor from the teriyaki seeps down into the lettuce and rice, and a soft, yet noticeable rice in the bottom of the bowl to top off your hunger when you finish. I also decided to get the Classic Tempura roll. This meal wasn't the absolute best tempura I've had, but it doesn't dent my rating. The tempura wasn't as crisp as I would've liked and the roll was more like a Futo Roll than a classic Tempura roll. I don't mind futo rolls, but it may be unexpected to those who don't know. Service is great as usual, the manager or owner is always on the premises and the waiting staff have good manners. In the past I've seen serving staff here get orders wrong, including mine, but I don't see them around anymore so I'm assuming they're no longer employed here, which is good. The food pricing is quite low for the surrounding establishments. All in all it's a great place. Fantastic for up to a group of 4, anything bigger could get uncomfortable or partitioned to different sections. The ambience is a typical mall with your faint beeps of store security systems and quiet baby cries muffled by chatter and typical humanity sounds.
