We selected hockey and soccer as our sports. They broke the kids up into two groups and provided attention to all of them. It was extremely well organized. They kept all the kids' attention and knew each child by name within minutes. I heard only praise from all the parents I spoke to afterwards - it was one of the best parties they had ever been to. It is refreshing to see a place they take pride in their gym and genuinely want the kids to have a good time - few places are like this these days!!! This is truly a gem. Prospect Academy is a corner stone of the Russian community in Westchester. Even after that, we continued with Prospect for after-school programs, that my children benefited from tremendously. This school is always coming up with new initiatives - cooking classes, dance classes, outdoor gardens, German or Spanish language programs - it's always fun, new and interesting! We can't say enough about the loving and caring teachers that my children were lucky to be nurtured by. Everyone at Prospect treats us like family. My children have long since graduated, but I keep coming there for the Moms Dance classes every week! The program at the school is full of hands-on education and learning made fun. Going outside in any weather is a must - great way to make our kids resilient and unafraid. They had written out a welcome sign for my friend's son and mine, as we were both attending class for the first time, which was very sweet. They have a section in front where you can store shoes and bags. Strollers can be left outside. Babies and caregivers have to remove their shoes and wear socks during the class. The main play area had a wooden slide and two swings, as well as several vinyl fixtures for climbing. The floor had a padded topper that was perfect for babies on the move. The class was great. There were only four babies in session. We started with a welcome song, greeting each little one by name, and then sang a few other songs. Next, we did a bunch of sensory and play activities involving cupcake tins, pom poms, magnetic blocks and figures, and spiky balls. We wrapped up with a bubble machine session and a closing song. The class facilitator was wonderful. She engaged each child and encouraged their curiosity and skill building. The babies could participate at their own pace and comfort level. My son had a bit of stranger danger and cried quite a bit throughout the class, and the facilitator was very accommodating. After the class, we were able to stay in the studio and play for a few more minutes before the next class started. Awesome experience overall, and I'd love to come back!

I learned so much technically (drawing, patternmaking, and designing) while also learning a lot about myself. The atmosphere of the studio is fantastic, it was such a safe place to come to after school. Irina really listens to you and tries to understand who you are while also helping you discover that as well. I am immensely grateful for my time in Nefda and will forever hold it dear in my heart. If you're interested in receiving a pre college class or you just want to sew a dress I highly recommend coming to this school.

We just completed one of their summer camps though that was a completely different experience. They had 26 campers in a tiny room with 5 staff members. Kyle unfortunately left the company that week and my daughter went from loving it to coming home crying every day. When I confronted Irina, I was told that they had 26 kids and just could not cope, which I understood, however taking on that many kids is completely in her control, so it is therefore hard to understand why it happened. That being said the thing that insulted me the most was that she said that my child was used to having everything done for her at home which is why she wasn't capable of finishing her dress on her own. She is actually a really good student that requires very little help with tasks or learning something new but the reality is she is 8 - and relatively new to sewing - which is why she was struggling. In the end her 9 year old friend had to pin her in to the dress for the fashion show. I hate writing this review as under Kyle's leadership, it was such a magical place. I would think twice about sending your younger child here and if you do, make sure there are no more than 12 in the class.
