We'd been walking the streets for hours and stumbled across this place as we were walking towards the bridge. I had coincidentally seen an advertisement at a museum the day before and thought it was quite interesting so seeing it first hand I knew I had to try it out! Better yet, it was only $10euros and included a foot massage which I thought was a steal! We were taken care of by Natalia who was suuuuper sweet. You can feel the fish nibbling at your feet. It sounds oddly disturbing but they are actually feeding off the dead skin...omg! Don't judge me.. Lol it was pretty incredible. Natalia says the fish are Indonesian and are used for this. She has a special license as a "fish doctor" that shows the fish are all inspected since its a very specific type of fish that's used for this. The massage and fish dip spa thing is about 20-30 minutes I'd say but soooo worth it. Your feet are silky smooth after and we felt ready to conquer the town again! I have a leg and hip injury where I need massage and stretching by people that know what they are doing. Augustine was constantly checking in on how I was doing. They ask you what you are comfortable with. Do you prefer this or that? You can keep all your clothes on to stripping down to the disposable thong. You are always covered. They have rooms upstairs and downstairs, and everything is super freshly cleaned.

Both times it felt much closer to deep tissue or even rolfing, not the stretching and rhythmic pressure you'd expect from Thai. * When I asked, the therapist explained they "have to do half-half," meaning they mix Thai with European deep tissue techniques. * If you want authentic Thai massage like in Thailand, you need to specifically ASK for a Thai therapist from Thailand and state clearly that you want traditional Thai. At Mthai, the receptionist spoke English, and even accommodated my last minute request to switch to Thai style full body (from head neck shoulders) with the same gender. Introduction process was not complete, when asked the massage person to just do back - I was told impossible. No one at the desk ( three employee) acknowledged me at departure. Odd for such a friendly culture. There was a family of three that were not following the silence rule in the baths and no one to monitor - ruined the experience. Baths were not not very hot, have had other experiences where temperatures were better maintained. Inexpensive, so at least not breaking the bank. Save the money and have a nicer dinner.
