If you have a cookie cutter kid that has zero special needs or impairments, sure I could see this facility being a good place to go. In my experience these therapists are not highly trained. Is it possible to give less than a 1 star review? If so I would grade Therapy Associates a zero. They provided a custody evaluation that was so biased and illogical that it should scare any parent that pays them for this service. We all know there are 2 sides to every story. Here is my side: The other party did not follow any of the court mandates and was held in contempt of court twice and prosecuted by the state for violating court orders. Alienation of affection, drug/alcohol abuse, and DUIs were additional issues. I had been granted full custody by the court which was upheld multiple times by 3 judges. At the beginning of the custody evaluation, Therapy Associates initially congratulated my consistency. I had the audacity to answer their questionaire honestly that l felt I was better suited to be the custodial parent because I didn't subject my children to significant risk and harm. In the end, I retained custody but was rebuked and threatened with loss of custody openly in front of the parties for having followed all court orders to the T. Apparently, I was supposed to have ignored what the court ordered and offered whatever flexibility the other party demanded. Therapy Associates stated that they had "thrown out" the other party's test results because of some imagined language barrier. The other party had long been a US citizen (which required an English proficiency test) had been a US resident, fluent in English for approximately 16 years. They ignored the obvious conclusion of the testing including all the court and police records. They offended my person and parenting without cause. I had been taking my daughter to the Intermountain mental health services over on 600 south across from the old hospital but was really not happy with the therapy services. School started again and her anxiety increased ten fold. I started reaching out to a lot of people with experience in this sort of thing and was recommended to Therapy Associates. My goodness what a difference plain as day. I am so impressed with the overall experience here. And really not surprised to see a full waiting room of kids all ages. This must be the place! During my daughter's first visit she did sand play and Dr Loreta really connected with her. I was invited to stay in the room and not told to be outside the room which I prefer. And Dr Loreta invited us to come back on a regular weekly schedule. I felt so calm that this doctor actually listened to my concerns. And let me advocate for my daughter's health concerns when the other place met with my daughter twice alone and told me, your daughter is fine and we don't need to visit again. Ugh. That was the most disappointing thing because yes, she generally is a happy kid but the anxiety attacks are real and she needs to learn methods to cope.
