My chef had to leave and prepare our food somewherelse and then bring it back. This cost us serving time to guest. We paid for an entire room to be decorated from top to bottom and only received half of what we paid for. The lady who decorates daughter told me they would charge me extra for something I already paid for. Then tried to blame me for not making it clear that the ceiling should have been decorated. This was made clear when we negotiated the venue. It was on the original contract. Who does that??? So be sure if you pay for decorations you go over it again and again. Do not pay until everything has been done to your exact instructions. Bottom line, no one offered to reimburse me anything. The best I could get was we are sorry. :(

Bailey Lee the Director of Events was exceptionally helpful as she was always happy to answer any questions I had. The staff including Brianna and Brittney were very punctual, patient and incredibly helpful with all the planning. The day of, someone was there with me to navigate the day and make sure everything ran smoothly. I really appreciated too, the flexibility and selections they had to choose from for table linens, decor etc. The venue provided me with a floor plan with table setting and other element placing, and were accepting of my edits / red lining of any changes I wanted to make. They were always sending me detailed documents of the venue plans. They had a lot of partnerships with people to help make the ease of finding other vendors. This was a big help as it was more convenient to work with others who were familiar with the location. The venue itself is exceptional. All my guests said it was one of the best weddings they had been to because the whole area is just naturally stunning. Very open concept and bright all over. There were tons of opportunity for photos in various locations across the venue. From natural scenery, to a porch swing, trees, bridge, gazebo etc. There were also butterflies everywhere, so they were obviously attracted to the foliage outside which made it even more magically. The only things I will say in contrast is I had a fright with some of my things being misplaced that I had requested such as easels, some of my rentals and the fireplace was supposed to be lit as requested. The items were eventually found and brought to me before it was too late. The fireplace was never lit but it was still beautiful regardless. And I reminded the staff to bring out the easels which they happily did so. I also mentioned multiple times that the lights in the reception were supposed to be purple and they assured me that it wasn't going to be blue even though the papers they sent me said, "blue." I told them to revise this and they said it would be purple, well the day of it was still blue which luckily still worked with my color anyways. I had also originally been told when I booked the venue that there was a projector to display photos and had originally planned to have a slideshow until I found out much later that there were renovations and the projector could no longer be used. I was a little upset by this as they did not plan to have a projector screen available to maintain this option and instead got rid of it all together. But that is a minor detail that didn't effect our experience too much. All that aside, great job to everyone, thank you for making my day special and beautiful. Myself as well as everyone who came will remember that day as being just as perfect as I wanted it to be. Thank you!

Low end finishes and the owners are rude and non helpful. I would not recommend anyone booking an event here. The outside has litter all around the building that no one has taken the time to pick up. There is no parking lot and you have to park in the grass. Imagine you are wearing your good shoes and your heels sinking into the dirt. The owners are African and have a terrible mean attitude and quick to say NO to anything you ask, instead of offering good customer service! It's a no for me and I'm sure that the wedding I attended would have been much better at a different venue! If they act this way towards everyone, I can't see how they will be open for a long time.

In an impassioned attempt to find the perfect venue for my sisters 30th birthday celebration, I ran…read moreacross Perimeter Zen online and found it was exactly what I needed before I knew I needed it! I reached out to get some information and was contacted shortly after by the owner, Daymond. After a few email exchanges we set up some time for a venue walkthrough and let me just say, the pictures online do it no justice! This perfectly modern, chic space is nestled in the heart of the design district central to many restaurants, bars and hotels. (We rented a room at the Double Tree Hotel - Market Center which was literally 4 mins from the venue). Perimeter Zen can comfortably accommodate 70 people, there's a projector to display images during events, adjustable lights depending on the mood, a sound system for phone connection or DJ set up, a kitchen/ bar area, chairs, tables, and lots of parking! I was initially concerned that with everything it comes with, the cost would be astronomical; however after more than a few changes to the quote and about 50 emails on my end, Daymond got me to the right price and reserved! I rented the space from 10:00pm-1:30AM on a Saturday night and when I arrived Daymond and Sean were already there with the light preference I requested on display and the slideshow rolling, all my friends and I had to do was put up balloons and get the DJ and bartender acclimated before guest arrived. Daymond and Sean were extremely hands on, continuously asking if there was anything they could assist us with! It was very apparent they care about their guest, and I was reminded of that even more as the night went on when there were a few times they had to remind people that they could not leave the building with any open alcohol containers (cups or bottles) for safety and liability purposes and I truly appreciated that. Most places will just allow any and everything to go on, but not with them, their desire is for everyone to have a great time in their space, safely. I could not have asked for a better team to work with, it was a magical night. The owners are true gems and I would recommend this space to ANYONE looking to host an event with a touch of elegance. It couldn't have been more perfect, I can't wait to do it again!

He should have spoken to us and we would have spoken to our guests if we felt that would be an issue. This wasn't a prom, it was ok to treat us like children. He was so negative the entire day to our families while they were setting up. My MIL nicknamed him Mr. Happy because he always had a negative response to anything and everything or a angry look on his face. The wedding coordinator he suggests you use... Don't. She kept interfering with pictures and telling people where to go. That's what I paid the photographer for. She is in quite a few pictures that were very important, like me being walked down the aisle. His minister he refers to you is very long winded and wouldn't quit talking during the ceremony. So if you like short and sweet, don't use him. He has very many rules that weren't made apparent during our first visit, had I known... We wouldn't have used K Star. Read before you sign. But that was my mistake.
