They have a really good selection of ceramics to choose from, and I liked that each piece has the price right underneath, so you know exactly what you're paying before you choose. They also have tons of colors to choose from, which gives you plenty of room to get creative. The space can get busy pretty quickly since there aren't a ton of tables, but it looks like they may be doing some renovations, so I'm interested to see how the space changes. They also have snacks and drinks available for purchase, which is a nice touch if you're spending some time there with the kids. The customer service was probably one of my favorite parts. They explained everything really well, were available if we had questions, and made the whole process easy. Once you finish your piece, they let you know the turnaround time, which is about a week. Overall, we had a really nice experience, and it was such a fun activity to do with my daughter, I'd definitely come back to paint another piece and excited to see what the future holds with the renovations.

I first learned about For Love of Love through a close friend who worked with and raved about…read moreLauren and Ellie. My partner and I followed suit and hired For Love of Love, working closely with Ellie one-on-one for 19 months to plan and execute our wedding, which took place this past May. It's quite literally taken me three months to write this because I've struggled to put into words the effect that Ellie and her diligent, detail-oriented effort and positive, calm, encouraging demeanor (not to mention the quality of her taste/ eye for aesthetics...) had on not only the stellar outcome of the event itself but on my partner and me as humans, with little knowledge of the wedding industry, planning the most expensive event of our lives from across state lines. As creatives ourselves, we came to Ellie with lots of ideas and artistic preferences, and she helped us to get organized and translate those ideas into reality by working tirelessly to connect us with local vendors (like Olivera Floral Design, Common House, Richmond Photobooth, various rental companies and more) within our budget who understood our aesthetic, which required that Ellie truly know us as a couple. Her knowledge of the industry and best practices is extensive, and her willingness to go above and beyond for her clients is evident. Additionally, the professionalism that we experienced throughout the planning process was bar none...even in the most testing and emotional of moments involving family--Ellie's patience, positivity, and resolve were unwavering. The bottom line, booking the For Love of Love team is the best money you'll spend. Ellie and her team kept us in the know and ahead of our timeline. On the big day, we were enabled to be hands-off so that we could be as present as possible. I daresay Ellie became more than a wedding planner to us--she supported and encouraged our individualism, made light out of dark, and shared in celebrating our wins. We refuse even to consider what the day would've been like without her and the team. If you're waiting for a sign to take the plunge and hire For Love of Love--it's right here, baby!

Your wedding planner search is over!! Lauren is everything you've been looking for and everything…read moreyou didn't know you needed. Calling Lauren a wedding planner is an incomplete characterization. Lauren is a visionary, stylist, and strategist who is able to both design events and execute the logistics and tactics flawlessly. My husband and I (and our families) worked with Lauren for about 15 months to plan our recent Richmond, VA wedding for 170 guests at an outdoor venue. The entire process was not only painless but fun. As a super type A person, I was not sure I'd find a planning partner who would meet my micromanaging expectations. But Lauren was incredibly organized from Day 1 (I appreciate a good folder structure and Google Doc). She also made planning FUN! I was never overwhelmed, never felt uncertain on where things stood, and always was sure that Lauren and I were on the page with everything - aesthetics, budget, etc. Fast forward to wedding day, and dozens of wedding guests who had recently planned their own events raved that Lauren was the best wedding planners they'd ever seen in action. It was all perfect. She felt like family by end, and we will truly miss working with her!! Work with Lauren. Your wedding (and arguably, marriage) will be better if you do.

The girls loved picking out a dress and getting their nails and makeup done with real makeup. The princesses are fantastic! Great voices, high quality costumes, wigs, and makeup. We had Elsa and Anna and they had such a cute entrance with so you want to build a snowman and let it go. We even had one girl a little nervous about the idea of a fashion show (which were the princesses twirling them, showing them how to curtesy, and doing a pose of a princess of choice), but they were super accommodating with her too (not everyone loves the stage!). As a parent, it was great because the princesses and staff handled serving the food and cleanup. I think most of the girls were a little star struck and acted shy, but all gushed afterwards about it being so much fun. If we had more kids, I think I would have opted for an extra half hour, but 1.5 hours was perfect for the crowd we had! My recommendation would be to make sure to remind your guests to arrive right on time, especially if you're having a bigger party! It's a well oiled machine, but it works best when on time!

Let Vianney create your perfect brows! Beautiful brows frame the face like a gilded frame enhances artwork. You wouldn't want to see a picture of the Mona Lisa in a cheap, plastic frame! Well, that's where Vianney comes in, she's the Rembrandt of brows!! Of all the cosmetics, beauty treatments, facials, skin care procedures, hair cuts, mani-pedis... or anything else I've ever done to help enhance my features... this is the best thing I've ever done! Evvverrrrrr! Vianney is a professional make-up artist who made my brows go from "anyhowwww" to "wow"! I used to have great brows, thick and lush, but aging, 1990's tweezing, and over waxing left me with thinning, uneven, and scraggly brows. Then Vianney performed her magic and now eyebrow pencils are a thing of the past! I've spent so much money on eyebrow powder & pencils over the years... I wasn't great at making them even, it was time consuming, and I could never get that arch thing going and ugh... I hated filling them in!! Can I get a witness!!? But now, I'm out the door in a flash, make-up routine done!! Whenever I'd see a person with fabulous brows, I'd compliment them! "I love your brows!" I had always had "eyebrow envy" when I see other girls' thick full brows... no more. Now I have significant brows with no fuss!! And now I'm the one getting compliments! The procedure takes about 2 hours and Vianney is meticulously accurate and takes her time, showing you her progress before she completes the process. Her small station is clean and bright. And even during Covid, she kept everything immaculate. I was thrilled with the results! The price for her services are definitely worth it when you consider how much money you spend on products that don't last! She explained the healing time, about a week or two, and she gives you cleansing ointment as your brows initially peel. But after that, you'll be left with awesome arches and epic eyebrows!! I went for my touch up and it was a breeze. I won't go anywhere else! Vianney, I bow to your brow expertise and thankful you came into my life! Can I give 100 stars?? (One caveat: Vianney's salon is in the back of the main hair shop. The main salon is kinda dark and dingy when you first go in... but her area, in a separate room, is bright and comfortable. The main hair shop could use a facelift and needs to upkeep the restroom. This review is for Vianney's services exclusively.)

I found P&J after stalking my venue's social media, they work with P&J often (which is always a plus as the vendors are familiar with each other and relationships are already established). Erin gave us a tour of the warehouse early on in my planning process and helped me pick out pieces that matched my vision for the day. She was so helpful and flexible and made the whole process really fun! Their warehouse is FULL of tons of furniture and décor pieces. As I moved through the planning process, my vision shifted, and I was able to easily switch out pieces originally picked and add on new items up until very close to the wedding date. Erin also did magic on our signage. I sent her some inspo photos of different types of fonts and she completely nailed it. The signage was a huge part of the day as we were moving from event to event so having the cohesive lettering through it all really tied together. I cannot say enough good things about P&J. The delivery was smooth (hence why vendors knowing the venue is important), staff were always helpful and responsive, the price was absolutely reasonable, and any question I had was answered with grace. I so recommend P&J to any bride in the area who is looking for unique pieces to add special touches to their big day!

(I realize that sounds like a promo line, but it's the truth) On a recommendation from a fellow party planner, I contacted CPR in December for an event and was totally pleased with how easy it was to work with them. Granted, I only needed tables so my order wasn't complicated, nor did I need a consultation, but from the moment I phoned them, it was smooth sailing. Amanda took my order and sent me an invoice almost immediately after speaking with me; I picked up the tables the day before the event and returned them the day after. Easy peasy. And the prices are super reasonable, too. With two locations for pick-up/drop-off, it's pretty convenient no matter where you live. In December I used the West End location, but I rented tables again this week and used the Southside one. Southside is their main warehouse/showroom, so if you use the West End, they actually transfer your order there for pick up. I have to give a shot out to Jim (one of the owners), who is just so darn personable! When I popped in to pick up my order on Wednesday, he was super friendly and engaging - I could tell that he takes great pride in his business... as he should! And I got to meet the office pup, too, a two-year old black lab (I'm not a dog person, but he was at least part lab, if not full) who was the sweetest dog ever. I'm not usually a dog person, but I couldn't get enough of this adorable guy. Jim told me all about the walks they take down the street from the showroom, and it was clear this puppy's living the life. I will certainly be using Classic Party Rentals for many events to come!
