Theatre B produces thought-provoking, heart-wrenching, conversation-starting theatre that has the capacity to alter a person's perception of the world. I will never forget how I felt after watching "Good People," a play that taught me, in part, how to have empathy for people in situations I did not understand. It taught me that my understanding of someone's situation was irrelevant to how I should feel empathy for them. It literally changed my outlook.
Theatre B also pays its artists, something I believe to be critically important. Their talented Ensemble includes real heavy-hitters like Carrie Wintersteen (who was TRANSCENDENT in "Wit,") and Missy Teeters (whose performance in "Church and State" forced me to take a hard look at some of my own opinions about gun control).
My favorite productions of Theatre B's have been "Next Fall," "Good People," "Hand to God," and "Church and State," all of which, I feel irrevocably changed me in some way. Now in their 16th season, I am looking forward to seeing "Cry It Out," which examines the standards we place on motherhood through the eyes of three mothers. In Theatre B's capable hands, this promises to be another fantastic production. read more
