I came to Darrow as a student who did not function well in the "one size fits all," large classroom…read morepublic school environment, where variations from the norm were discouraged and where students were not encouraged to ask for help when needed. When I was touring the campus, the classes that I sat in on were not only interesting, but the interactions between students and teachers were so productive that I understood what was going on, and was able to follow the lecture. I almost didn't know how to react to this new (to me) dynamic! The students were also very friendly. As a perspective student, the students made me feel welcome and were interested in hearing my stories and why I was interested in Darrow. Once I became a student at Darrow, I found out that the besides being engaged in the students' learning, many of the teachers used creative ways to get the students interested in what they were learning, even when the students thought they disliked a particular subject. While at Darrow, in addition to the substantive information, I learned many useful learning techniques that I carried on (and still use) into my educational career. Darrow is a very community driven school in New Lebanon, where not only do the teachers care about teaching in the traditional sense, but who also care about their students as individuals and want to see them succeed.

Darrow taught me to think analytically, communicate effectively and collaborate as often as possible. There is a "safeness" that exists at Darrow that allows a student to try anything. If a student fails, he will be caught. To me there is more pride in failure than never having tried. I failed many times while at Darrow. Was I negatively judged? No. Did I try something else? I did. As a consequence, I am still trying new things. Some I'm good at. Others, not so much. But thanks to Darrow I keep on trying.

This Center is amazing. Michelle has a true gift in spiritual healing. I had a Clairvoyant reading…read morewith her recently, and was blown away by how accurate she was on areas of my life, and specific details. I left feeling so much lighter, having a clear direction on where to begin with my spiritual healing, and how to resolve personal struggles that have weighed me down for decades. Michelle is very easy to talk to, puts your mind at ease, and makes realistic recommendations on how to become the best version of you. I highly recommend a Clairvoyant reading, or any service offered by the Center. I will be a loyal client to Michelle, as her work has both inspired me, and changed my life. Thank you Michelle for guiding me through a difficult time, and giving me direction on how to heal. I'm so grateful to have found you and the Center for Psychic Healing.

A docent by the entrance is there to tell you about it's construction and answer questions. We headed to the annex to see the animals: baby goats, lambs, piglets and chicks! The Discovery Barn is the place to be for the kids. They have a 'cow' mock-up that you can 'milk'. There are plenty of arts and craft projects there and a staff member to answer any questions. Although not a kid, I did give the cow a try and the staff member answered a bunch of questions about the museum and the local area. The Brick Dwelling has *so much* information! you could spend a lot of time in there reading about the lives of the Quakers. They also have a broom making shop, butter making shop, furniture shop, blacksmith, dorms for non-Quaker workers and so much more. We were given a map of the property with our admission and a list of events happening on site during the day of our visit. Definitely make a plan to see the demonstrations. A very interesting day.
