My daughter started taking classes here when she was ten years old. Lisa and David are not just great coaches and teachers but they bring the best out of young actors as well. After taking the scene study class, Lisa reccomended Improv with Corey and Loretta and now we're spending our entire weekend at the studio. It was time well spent. From that early age my daughter was hooked. Watching her grow in confidence and poise taking these classes was incredible. She was able to achieve personal goals of getting a manager to help with her career and now in her senior year of high school is preparing to go to USC next year to study film acting. We were very very disappointed with this studio. Our 10 year old daughter attended the tween improv class for about a year - it was her FAVOURITE thing that she did. She would talk about it all week, and be excited for creating new projects where she could act with her friends outside of class. Any time my wife or I would talk in person with a teacher, everything seemed great - there were no problems or issues brought up. Then out of the blue in the middle of the week, Lisa sends an email to my wife saying that our daughter had terrible behaviour over the course of her time there - to the point where it was so disruptive and frustrating for the teachers that she was not welcome back effective immediately. Our daughter is ADHD and we are aware of outburst behaviors - and we do believe that she probably *was* difficult to manage. But even so, we truly don't understand why they didn't say anything to us at any time EVER or even attempt to work out a solution. They literally just dropped her unceremoniously with a vague email. We were shocked by the blindside to say the least, and are not impressed by this extreme lack of professionalism and frankly, cowardice to even talk to us, on their part. Consequently, our daughter was utterly crushed and cried for the solid week. It's really disappointing that people who say they care about a craft and helping kids learn that craft will without thought just completely cripple a kid's dreams instead of work with them or their parents if they need extra help. If you want some teachers that ACTUALLY care about their students succeeding and are willing to communicate and work with you as a parent to help your child grow, then look for a different studio. EDIT TO REPLY TO REPLY: Firstly, respectfully, please remove my daughter's name from your response as it as a violation of minor privacy and I do not consent to her name being put on a public site. Secondly, I think you misunderstood our problem. I didn't have a problem with the price or the refund. The problem is that you nor the teachers you employ never once came to US AS HER PARENTS to even attempt rectify the problem. How are we supposed to know there's a problem if you don't tell us? Of course as her parents, we don't expect anyone to put up with bad behaviour from any of our kids, but so much of what was in your email was out of character for her, vague, and so out of the blue that we can't fathom why you chose to handle it like this. Yes she is jumpy and can interrupt, but she is not malicious by any stretch of the imagination, and frankly its even more bizarre that you essentially acknowledge that you do not intend to ever actually communicate with parents about how their kids are doing... which is even scarier. So parents, beware - Lisa will not tell you anything about what goes on in her class! PS - don't think I won't forget the sarcastic comments to me regarding my daughter's jewelry right in front of her. That's really classy and a great way to boost their confidence. Every once in a while you meet someone who changes your perspective and alters your course. Lisa, David, Corey and Loretta are that incredible team for our son. We knew from the moment he set foot in his first improv class that it would change his life forever. He was 10 years old at the time and he is now in their adult class and has never missed a session. He is college bound enrolling this fall for a BFA in Screen Acting with an incredible team of agents and manager. There's no question that he is where he is today because of Lisa, David, Corey and Loretta. They captivate, engage and motivate in a way that we're not able to as parents. Together, they have a wealth of experience and connections. They mentor. They coach. They build confidence. They open doors. They believe in you. I have to say i was disappointed with the communication I received from Lisa (or any staff member). This was our first improv class and my daughter mostly enjoyed it however I could not get an email or a call back to simplify respond with how my daughter was doing. I find it rude to pay for a class for your child and be ignored and I wasn't asking for much. read more

She has a big follow up. She made both her kids full time working actors to live her dream and her husband is also a coach. We did not have a good experience with her. My kid is dyslexic and she had no idea what it meant. I had to give her a list of famous actors who have dislexia. She finally understood. My kid was late at a rehearsal of one of her little presentation and she took her out. She gave the part to someone else because "tardiness has consequences in the real world" she said. She just think that her little acting school is Hollywood. That was mean. I had an incident similar to that when I was 7 which I still think about it with hurt. Good bye ! There are plenty of acting coaches around especially in Los Angeles. We will never be back or recommend it to anyone. read more

From a young age our daughter was performing for everyone; in the backyard, at school, in ballet (she was supposed to be dancing), even when we were out to dinner or taking hikes. We tried to put her into various sports and she would just tell the other kids to get the ball while she picked flowers and sang. We had to find something on the weekends that would keep her engaged with other kids her age. The local theater at the bottom of our street was our solution and she was like a fish to water. She quickly acquired a manager from a local theater performance and was searching for an agent. We had no clue we were going to fall into this. Our daughter is full of life, fearless and was determined to take acting seriously. In reality she was unpolished, in need of direction and discipline; you have to be on time (early), know your lines, listen, take direction, pay attention and react. Our daughter auditioned for Lisa's classes and she wasn't ready. A year later, she matured, gained more experience and was accepted. It was the greatest blessing for our daughter; she found her tribe. Lisa and her crew are passionate, professional, knowledgeable, driven, focused and challenging. We wanted tough. Our daughter has thrived and after performing in showcases in Lisa's classes for the industry, she acquired an agent and is now a reoccurring cast member on React (an online show), she shot a movie, has been in major theatre productions because of Lisa, numerous music videos, shorts, commercials and has been in the final running for several major TV shows and movies. Ten years later, Lisa, Corey, Loretta and Matt are like family. Lisa coaches our daughter for major auditions and is helping her develop her character for a pilot she co-created. From scene study, to improv, to sketch comedy, we cannot recommend Lisa Picotte's classes enough, we have learned so much and thrived - Bravo! read more

My kids attended Lisa's summer camp, and my ultra introverted kid had a blast. They definitely want to return next year. My kids looked forward to going to Lisa's studio every day and learned so much, but more importantly had fun doing it. They both want to continue. I was worried that they'd be turned off but my kids liked it so much they are already asking for next years camp. read more

Young Actors Workplace is amazing. Lisa's coaching skills are always on point. Her classes have helped my daughter really grow over the last year or so. We have taken private coaching, scene study classes, and her improve classes and my daughter absolutely loves going to Young Actors Workplace . We travel every weekend from out of town (further than you'd think and people think I'm crazy for driving so far) all so my daughter can coach with Lisa. It's definitely worth our time to attend Lisa's classes. My daughter recently said she even wants to be like Lisa and help people grow. My daughter always wants to attend the classes and she never complains about going. She's always excited! We've taken other classes with different coaches and my daughter struggled with wanting to attend but that's not the case with Lisa's class. Young Actors Workplace has an amazing team that works beside Lisa and we've had the pleasure of working privately with a few of her recommended coaches. My daughter really enjoys her private coaching with Lisa and her team. She is always learning something new. Lisa's studio has had a profound impact on the confidence and skills of both of my daughters. She is an absolute gem of a person who truly cares for her students and pours her heart and soul into her classes. We are so lucky to have found this studio, and my daughters look forward to their classes, where they are are in a safe space to work on their skills and be accepted and celebrated as they are. Lisa always does an excellent job of communicating the expectations and timelines of each session. Occasionally, we've had scheduling conflicts, but Lisa has always been flexible and figured out a way to accommodate our rehearsal time the best she can. There are so many acting class factories in LA where you feel like your child is just a number of the masses. Lisa's classes are not like that! She really takes the time to work with each child and helps them shine and feel confident. I absolutely love it! Lisa is amazing, and Cory, and Loretta are great improv coaches. I have learned so much from them over the years. Lisa does a scene study class on Saturday, and Corey & Loretta teach improv on Sundays. We have showcases for casting directors, agent, and managers every fall and spring session. It's a really good investment!! I couldn't love it more!!! In winter we have a small session that doesn't have a showcase, but it is really fun. read more
