I recently signed up to be an ambassador with PAWs and am thrilled at the opportunity! Everyone has been so helpful and courteous. I can't wait for my daughter to take the "Debate Camp" this summer. She wants to take debate as her elective next year in 7th grade and this camp looks like an awesome opportunity for her to get her feet wet and see how she likes it. Here's a little about the debate camp if you are interested for your child... Performing Arts Workshops' DEBATE CAMP (for ages 9-14) is a fun non-competitive academic program where kids use team debate as a platform into learning public speaking, voicing their opinion, and also develop listening & critical thinking skills. The PAW curriculum provides campers with age appropriate topics, which they explore every aspect of, and teaches them how to structure a debate discussion on those topics. Through this process, kids will discover that you can disagree and still be friends! The curriculum also demonstrates how to present and defend your own point of view...while still showing empathy for one another. Some of the workshops they get include; vocabulary building, voice and speech, pros and cons, problem solving, rebuttal, wordplay, debate strategy, debate of the day, and the most enjoyable, the round table discussions. Also, one of the most immediate benefits of this camp is how these skills can be used as a spring board for the next school year, while having a really fun summer experience. With only up to 10 children allowed in each session, each child gets a lot of individual attention. And as always with PAW, with us the kids don't need to audition to participate. Performing Arts Workshops was even named BEST Summer Camp in LA Parent Magazine. If you want more information on PAW, their number is (310) 827-8827 or check out the website at PerformingArtsWorkshops.com.

I have truly never stopped being creative and I have to give a huge credit to Josh for inspiring me and my fellow 4 foot tall (at the time) artists to take risks, follow your heart, and never stop doing what makes you happy. I definitely learned a lot about art but I was also a child that got to witness an adult who loves their work and their life, and chooses to bring what they love to others. So grateful this place is still here, and a preemptive thank you from the kiddos currently in classes who have no idea how lucky they are to be there!

To this day, I have some of that art framed next to other fine art in my home. We were just talking about Josh today and wondering if even as adults, we could book a semi private class!!!. Josh deserves all these positive reviews! Whenever I dropped off, or picked up, or visited my daughter's classes, I found Josh to be extremely positive to each and every child and extremely patient with difficult parents which is truly a gift. Josh was always encouraging, positive, helpful and would really challenge the children to explore their own unique creativity and talents. A wonderful, happy & safe place.

They offer classes for young and old, with the option for drop-in, 4-week or full 8-week package signup. We attended their Open House that happened to be the next day and enjoyed meeting the staff as well as try out some activities such as coaster painting (ceramics) and creating a vision board. Oh and very much enjoyed the charcuterie board and wine + there was even cake that a staff member brought for someone who mentioned it was her birthdsr

I've been taking the handbuilding pottery class (as opposed to the wheel throwing class which they also offer). The handbuilding classes are taught by an incredible artist named Rob Homsy who is a patient and fun instructor. There is an assortment of people in his classes - all ages and an array of skills. Some of us are total beginners and others could sell their pottery because it's so great. What I especially love about this class is that Rob doesn't do the thing where "this week we're making wind chimes" and that's what the entire class must do. He definitely teaches us all of the basics and suggests what we may want to build, but he also genuinely supports whoever wants to make a giant cup, or an elephant for a gift, or a planter, or whatever one really has their mind set on. I will never be a great potter but I'm having such fun in the classes and working with many nice people. Classes are on a monthly schedule but you can enroll at any point. I take the Tuesday class from 1 PM - 4 PM but they also have an evening class. The phone number is (310) 451-5657 and the link is https://www.brentwoodart.org

We had a family loss the week of my daughter's 8th birthday, so I came into the party scattered -- I forgot plates, platters, and honestly half the things parents normally remember. Giselle stepped in and covered everything with so much grace and kindness. She didn't just help; she went above and beyond in a way I will never forget. The space itself is incredible. Giselle hosted the kids through the most thoughtful art activities, and every child went home with at least three creative projects. You can feel her purpose in the way she runs her studio. As she shared her story about being an adventurous child who loved the outdoors, it became so clear that she has created a space where children can truly thrive. It's not just a venue; it's an experience. The environment is unique, warm, imaginative, and filled with details that clearly come from someone who genuinely loves what she does. My daughter and all her friends are already asking to go back and arrange playdates there -- the play area alone is unlike anything else in the neighborhood. The party was incredibly affordable for the value we received, and worth every single penny. ArtZone is a Gem - Highly recommended

It's not about perfecting your technique, or learning how to do art in a specific way. In fact, it's the exact opposite. You will learn how to let go and trust your intuition.
