    came for lunch on Saturday, beautifully sunny in the terrace, fish in the fountain and food was lovely. definitely be back

It was suggested by a friend who we were meeting with because it was close and basic and convenient for our meetup. She hadn't made a reservation (pub reservations being a thing I quickly learned about during our 10 days in England!) but we came at a weird off-peak time so getting a table wasn't a problem. Beer and cider were cold and tasty. The food got the job done. I got a savory mushroom thing that was pretty alright. Due to her not having a uniform, I assume she is a manager. So this weekend, after looking for other places and being fully booked, we all decided to go to Rovers Tye, as the food is excellent. I was over the moon with Maxi; super polite, always with a smile. She was all over the place, and you clearly could see she loves what she does. The same manager was there, but again no smiles or greetings from her. Because of Maxi, we felt very welcome and enjoyed our meal. Thombs up to Maxi, who provided excellent service from the start to the end, which is why my massive FIVE STARS. The manager should learn one or two things from this girl.
