We were so lucky to stop in at The Wright Place on our first day in York, we returned every day either for breakfast or lunch and were never disappointed. The star attraction is the fresh baked bread, which has a uniquely delicious taste. All of the sandwiches we had were very good, including the fried egg and avocado, fried egg and Parma, toast with peanut butter and jam, grilled cheese, and finally ham and cheese. I also had an egg dish that was well prepared. The rhubarb tea from Hebdon Tea was a touch sweet, but also earthy: a yummy herbal mixture (we had to promptly run down the street to buy our own supply.) Beyond all this, the service was really the star. The staff was always attentive and made us feel right at home. read more
