I went to Wright Eye for cataract surgery consultation April, 2026. The first interaction was with a technician who poked the eye pressure tool directly into my right eye, the pain was immediate and I yelled and said what are you putting in my eye, she said nothing just taking your eye pressure then did the same thing to my left eye with the pain being immediate. I told her how much pain I was feeling and she was not concerned. When the surgeon came I told him how badly my eyes were hurting and he examined my eyes and said there were abrasions on both eyes, that the tech did not use a rubber tip on the tool used for eye pressure. I was in extreme pain for the next two days. I canceled my cataract surgery with them and chose a different surgeon. If a simple pressure check can be so botched, there was no way I was trusting them to do surgery. Wright eye is NOT the right choice. read more

I was originally referred to the Wright Eye Center by family members who were patients of (now retired) Dr. John Wright. Dr. Wright had been an amazing doctor to them and performed successful surgeries to both of my grandparents. Unfortunately by the time it came to my PRK surgery, he had been retired. However, post PRK surgery I was treated by Dr. Gehler and his staff who took good care of me. Dr. Gehler is kind, committed, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I fully trust and recommend him. The only thing I have been baffled and disappointed at, was that the doctor who originally performed the surgery (Dr. Rota) would not schedule visits or answer post-surgery questions. This initially happened when I suffered from an eye infection and had complications directly related to the surgery. The front desk/scheduling staff informed me that Dr. Rota would not be seeing me and that all questions should be directed to Dr. Gehler. This worked out as Dr. Gehler was thankfully able to treat my infection successfully, but the post-surgery recovery was slower than normal. I had many questions about the surgery itself that were never answered (Dr. Gehler answered all the post-surgery questions well, but he was not the doctor who performed the surgery). read more

I have had 3 eye surgeries at Wright Eye Center. Lasik and 2 PRK surgeries. I go back to the Wright Eye Center because of the quality of surgeries that I get and pre/post opp care that I receive. Everyone from the front office to the doctors are amazing!! Recently, I accidentally put super glue in my eye that I had surgery on. The prescription bottle of eye drops and the super glue look identical ( apparently this happens more than you would think). I was panicked and in A LOT of pain!! They had me come in immediately where Dr. Clancey stayed late to take care of me and Dr. Rota was also there to take the glue out of my eye. They both were extremely caring and helpful!! I also want to give a big thank you and shout out to one of their assistant, Ashley, who was absolutely amazing in calming and comforting me through the process of removing the glue. She was a huge blessing to have there!! Thank you Wright Eye Center for being professional but very personable and caring people!! I highly recommend the Wright Eye Center!!! read more

Mother has been dedicated to Dr gehler for an extended amount of years. I took her this morning after waiting an hour we were called back. I wanted to see the interaction with the entire staff who ever would be involved in this process. He rushed in the room with NO hello good morning...nothing.Rude.. he also trotted two other people in with him. No introduction. Turns out one was an apprentice " observing". I witnessed him push products that she was unhappy with I witnessed him talking way to fast for her to comprehend he spewed a lot of information as if she was an A I bot. He spoke over me as I asked questions. Ones to which he had the most garbled response which neither answered my questions nor had anything to do with my questions. The entire experience with the group that I dealt with were SUB- Par at best. If you read this review Beware of the mistreated of Humans. I DO NOT reccomend this establishment. Go somewhere else where they respect individuals. No matter their demographics. read more

I had cataract removal surgery on my right eye on August 16, 2022 and had an absolutely amazing experience. It was first-class from start to finish. I was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect, but the friendly, knowledgeable staff put me at ease from the very beginning. The procedure was painless and quick. Until this surgery, I never realized just how compromised my vision was. I'm blown away by the crystal-clear vision I now enjoy. Dr. Wright and the entire staff are incredible. Very disappointed in this organization. I was referred by my regular eye doctor for a possible enhancement on my Lasik procedure. At the request of the staff at Wright Eye Center, I provided the records of my original surgery and those of my current eye doctor. I was told these would be reviewed and, if Dr. Wright thought an enhancement was possible, an appointment would be scheduled. When I received a call to schedule an appointment, I was excited about the prospect of having an enhancement done. Unfortunately, my experience at the office was dismal. The woman who took me back to the room never introduced herself or told me what her role was (was she a nurse, tech, MA?). She was rude and, while she was not a doctor, told me that I was not a candidate for enhancement. She then quoted me the price for an enhancement. Pretty confusing. When Dr. Clancy finally came in, he was polite but told me an enhancement would not be of any benefit. I was at a loss as to why they would schedule an appointment after having reviewed all of my records. Seems like they were just in it for the money. read more

Front desk girl was not very nice- almost made me cancel because I didn't have a hard copy of my insurance card. Thank goodness for the Cigna app. Waited almost 20 minutes past the appointment time to be called back. Nurse was nice but somewhat abrupt in her approach. Doctor arrived over an hour past my appointment time. He saved the appointment by being extremely nice and knowledgeable. Not sure I'll be back. read more

Dr Adams was great! He was able to see me at the last minute for some eye irritation I have been having. Initially I thought it was allergies but it just did wasn't going away. Turns out it was viral pink eye. Anna brought me back and worked up my case and then Danielle helped with the cases write up. Both were professional and made me feel at ease. I truly appreciate the warm and charismatic nature of Dr Adams and will recommend him to friends and family. read more

I can only comment so far on my first consult but it was an easy decision to book my eye surgery. They are all so professional, accommodating and very friendly. My husband is Fantastic about asking questions I never think to ask and they were so patient with us both. Update: I had my PRK surgery in mid March and I would never look back! (Pun intended) this could've been one of the best decisions I've made in a long time and definitely one of the best health decisions. They were so professional, accommodating and all of my follow up appointments were included in the price even though they wanted to see me an extra time. It also includes any "touch ups" in the future if needed. Dr. Wright does all eye surgeries (PRK for sure that I know of) and he walked me through the entire procedure as he was performing it and even though I was on meds it helped relax me even more. I had incredible anxiety about it and I had no anxiety as soon as he started. Their facilities are great and I cannot recommend them highly enough! Side note: my friend also had surgery there for PRK a few months prior to mine and also loves hers and highly recommends :) read more

I have had nothing but a great experience at the Wright Eye Center. Everyone was just awesome from the front desk personnel to the examiners and the surgical staff. Everyone has been pleasant, helpful and able to answer any of my concerns with a caring attitude. The staff make sure equipment is clean between every use, and are patient especially when checking your vision with the 1 or 2, 3 or 4; lens differences. Sometime my concentration wanders and the repeat the choices until I am sure. I was here for cataract removal and since the procedures to both eyes my vision is good enough to not need to wear my glasses for distance any longer. I do need to wear glasses to read close up yet everything is now so bright and clear otherwise. I will be returning in 3 weeks for my final eye exam to see what if any prescription is needed. I had PRK eye surgery end of March and almost 6 weeks later my vision is still not reliable. I have a job that is computer based and I work with detailed numbers and I still can't reliably distinguish between a 6 and an 8, or an 8 and a 3. The disclaimer paperwork indicates that most people heal within 10 days of the surgery, however I don't appear to be one of those individuals. What I'm horrified by is the lack of integrity by doctor Steven Clancy, when I explained that sending me back to work with my eyesight this wonky it puts my job at risk his response was so unethical. He stated "I can't let the word out that healing from PRK surgery can take this long", and yet it is and now he's putting my job at risk by sending me back to work when I can't reliably do my job. This is the worst possible outcome...The Wright Eye Center has gotten it very wrong! read more

The surgery went fine, however, post surgery both eyes developed a condition. When waking up in the morning there would be flakes on both eye lashes and periodically throughout the day they would appear along with inflammation on the eye. When returning for post op check ups, Dr. Adams would state in a lackadaisical way "Oh that's normal" and he recommended using moist eye toilet wipes. A year later and a visit to a nurse practitioner and it turns out that is instead an infection of the follicles. Every post check up Dr. Adams did not seem like he cared and was more concerned with something else. read more

1. They changed the surgery date 11 days before scheduled date, causing problems for the person who will be driving me to surgery. 2. Excessive paper work and forms. On one form you have to write out the statement in longhand and then sign it. 3. One prescription was not covered by my insurance (or most insurance), and it costs $200. The prescribed generic was also not covered ($129). No flexibility for the many options covered by insurance. 4. In general, rigid and difficult to deal with. read more

I had cataract surgery approximately 2 years ago by Dr.Wright. I was told by Dr Wright that my vision would improve,, but to this day my vision in my right eye is minimal. I had LASIK surgery here a year ago, which requires frequent post-op check-ups. The LASIK itself was successful (even though I was not fully prepared mentally for how bad my near-vision would be afterward), but the post-op check-ups were dreadful. I rarely waited less than fifteen minutes to be called to the exam room, only to wait there at least 10 more minutes, usually more. The eye exam is done in 5 minutes, so the ratio of wait time to face time with the Doctor is abysmal. read more

I had lasik surgery by Dr. Wright and few years after noticed my eye sight getting worse. Thinking I just needed a "touch up", I went back but after an eye exam Dr.Wright dismissed me quickly. He wrote down what I had on a business card and all but rushed me out of his office. After researching I realized he screwed up my lasik procedure and I ended up with keraectasia. I am essentially blind in my left eye thanks to the incompetence of Dr. Wright. Go to him at your own risk. You only have two eyes. I now only have one. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE WRIGHT EYE CENTER! I could not tell you whether or not Dr Wright is a good Doctor or not but I can tell you his staff is the rudest and most unprofessional ill tempered bunch of folks I have ever had the dis-pleasure of meeting. It started by going in for the initial exam along with the biggest pile of paper work I have seen in a while which was mailed to me. Ok, It is a doctors office but I have never seen so many legal waivers. Seems that is all they care about. I had my wife fill them out for me. Form after form after form of legal waivers. Ok, no problem. The staff seemed impatient and hurried me at every turn. I was put in a room and left for 25 minutes before the doctor to came in to see me after several exams and watching another video explaining the procedure. It was hot and I opened the door to let some air in my room after a while and was immediately scolded like a child for doing so. I have never worn glasses or had an eye exam so I had a lot of questions pertaining to my cataract surgery to just try to understand it. A week later I came in for my follow up to see Dr. Wright who was going to do my surgery. Again I was given another packet of info to fill out. I have a tremor in my writing hand needed help writing but my wife was not with me as I thought all the paper work was done. This time I was alone and frustrated not to mention I had a bad headache and was not feeling well. I thought things were proceeding well. I met with the doctor and thought that went well. I asked questions, not knowing anything about which surgery to choose, distance or up close vision? He said I may have to wear glasses no matter what. Ok. That is fine but I did want to understand why. I made my selection and was ready to proceed. I was then escorted to an office where I was again asked to sign more legal waivers. I had to walk to the other side of the office. I and 62 years old and don't walk fast so the nurse who was out walking me to the other side was looking back at me as if to say hurry up old man. She made it clear she was VERY impatient with me for walking slow. Here is the real catch. I got a call from an office lady the next day informing me that the doctor decided to not do my surgery because he did not think I would be happy because I may have to wear glasses. Well I fully expected I would since I choose to correct my long distance vision. Really? I have never met a more paranoid bunch of folks in my life. Well I am sure they won't go bankrupt losing my business. After all is said and done, I consider it a blessing not to have to be treated with the level of disrespect for the remainder of my treatment. Seeing the people waiting like cattle to be run through the mill in the waiting room, some standing didn't appeal much to me either. Most were complaining of one thing or another from the heat to the rude office staff and having to wait so long. I am going to still get my surgery done but I can assure you it WILL NOT be at this office full of rude and unprofessional people. I sure hope I don't get billed for any of it of I will have to turn them in to the State. What a waste of all of our time. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! read more
