Coming from Manchester, it feels like it is a little bit 'in the middle of no where' but I'm sure the locals don't agree. The gallery is home to various workshops that you can peek into the window of as you enter. The main gallery space holds around three small exhibitions, plus there's a fantastic shop where you can dream of owning beautiful hand made pots, jewellery and scarves. When I was last here the cafe had closed which was a shame but it is due to open again at the beginning of March 2016.

Poundland in Wrexham is much bigger than my local branch in Llandudno so I looking forward to going…read morein. I was a bit disappointed to find that they didn't have much that my local branch didn't have, they just had greater volumes of everything. Even so you can't beat shops like this and you will always find a bargain somewhere. I usually head straight for the books and DVDs but there are 'can't say no' offers all over the shop. One minor quibble is that you can only pay by card if you spend at least a fiver, although it isn't difficult to find five items worth buying.

Like most pound shops it has the essential, toilet roll, kitchen cleaners batteries and on the odd occasion ex major chain store stuff. For example we were visiting Wrexham for the day and i left my sunglasses in a pub, again, so for a quick fix i thought pound shop, if i lose them its a quid right. Bored on way hopme happy with my glasses i see the legs on them have had something blacked out with marker pen, so i scatched away and the glasses were last season Next sunnies for a quid!!! Also near teh train station so there is a fair amount of parking there too.

It's definitely a more upmarket toy shop than, say, Toys R Us -- the toys are 'top of the range' (many are made of high-quality wood) and are priced accordingly. ...well, this is Chester, after all! Quite a few of the toys seem to be original (at least, I've not seen them on sale anywhere else), and there is plenty to amuse and entertain youngsters of all ages. The staff are friendly and helpful, and shopping (or just browsing) there is a real pleasure. The only slight drawback is that it's in the middle of Chester and access for drivers is not especially easy. Because of the quaint old nature of Chester, the shop is not the easiest to get into if you've got a buggy (if I recall correctly there are some steps right by a narrow-ish entrance, with a sharp turn immediately you go in) -- and this is the only reason why it gets four stars rather than five. But if you can get there, and if you can get in, I doubt you'll regret it!

Toys are arranged in very good display cases and viewing/buying is made very easy. We did buy a number of items and were impresses with the service and the packing used. The shop is roomy and has lots of space for prams and wheelchairs. They have very good sales at certain times of the year. so keep your eye out for january.

There are in fact two M&S buildings on the main highstreet in Chester. One is sells womens-wear,…read morechildren's wear, food etc and the one across the road sells men's wear. I only need to visit the main one so I will review that. It's a really big shop with a couple of floors, the food court and women's section being on the ground floor at the back and children's wear, gift shop, lingerie etc on the first floor. The staff are always helpful and curteous and their food needs not further reviews since it's renowned for its quality already. The children's section is quite big and they now sell branded High School Musical clothes and the like too which appeals to the pre-teen and early teenage market and their school uniforms are excellent quality and they usually have decent 3-for-2 type offers on for those during the summer holidays etc. The chocolates are just gorgeous, their own brand remind me of Thorntons chocolate but cheaper, so if you're on a budget for a Christmas gift try those. They also have a Christmas gift shop which is really sweet, on the first floor, and offer products from anyone between 0-99 so you're bound to find something suitable for your loved one there. It's along the main high street so it's easy to find, but Chester in general is VERY busy everywhere at weekends so if you don't like the crowds then I would avoid weekends in general.

I would have liked to see more fresh produce including meats and juices and a better layout of the checkouts in the Food Hall however as an immediate improvement. In terms of clothing, I would say the nearby branches in Manchester and Liverpool are obviously better but the selection is fairly decent if you don't want to commute into one of those cities. The staff seemed OK, although I've experienced better in probably half a dozen other branches of Marks and Spencer, yet this branch is certainly much better than some dire stores within their network including the London borough of Islington and Rochdale in Greater Manchester. A nice brand within Chester, it looks good from the outside, it isn't the best Marks and Spencer store by any means, but it has good cleanliness and location going for it. 3*

If they haven't got in stock what you need - they will order it and let you know when it is in. I have used this service very successfully. The staff are really nice and helpful too. Books are standard prices - but they do have sales from time to time - when you can pick up some good bargains.

A lot of stock is second hand and a bit dated, which is fine by me as I'm a bit dated myself so they actually have a lot of CDs by acts I've heard of. Definitely worth a browse if you've got a bit of time to spare.
