They offer neswpaper delivery to the local area and are more than happy to organise a to put away a specific magazine for you and order it specially if it is not something they usually have in stock. The staff are very friendly and help give the shop a community feel. They are always happy to help and greet you with a smile. This is a great little shop.

This store is not as busy and therefore it is easier to wander round and browse at your leisure. There is an excellent range of CD's, DVD's, posters, t-shirts, games, consoles magazines and books on sale. The store is brightly lit and is very well organised. It is easy to find items within the store, but if you have problems there is always a member of staff around that will be happy to help. If you need any information then the staff at the tills are happy to look it up for you and they are very helpful and friendly. All the items on sale are competitively priced and there are often offers on such as 3 dvd's for £20 or 2 t-shirts for £20. The opening hours are excellent, being open till 9pm during the week. I have found this to be an excellent place when looking for a last minute present for someone. The parking in New Mersey Retail Park is excellent and there is always a free space to be found. Overall this HMV may not win your hearts like the one in Market Street in Manchester, but hey, it is HMV at its best around here!

When inside I realised that exterior decor did justice to the smart interior and that this place was clearly a very professionally run establishment. There was no shortage of products within this establishment and the prices proved to be very reasonable indeed and all of this made for a successful mixture in my eyes. The people in charge of the establishment were helpful and unlike a lot of modern day shopkeepers they took the time out to actually interact with their customers and this impressed me a great deal it has to be said. It is great to see a place as simple as a newsagent being run with such care , so well done to the people here and I hope there brand of business spreads to the rest of Kensington and Liverpool in general.

There's a large range of books, stationery and greetings cards, plus all the magazines and newspapers you'd expect. There are toys too and confectionery, but the best thing about this store (for me at least) was the lovely friendly staff who couldn't have been more helpful. As well as assisting me to find the things I wanted in the store, they also gave me directions to other shops in the town.

Located on an industrial estate and looking from the outside like a carpet warehouse, Sharston Books is a trove of bibliographic marvels. There are books on any and every subject, bulging from shelves and crammed into creaking cases. From nasty yellow exploitation paperbacks (see the conspiracy section featuring titles like 'Genesis Revisited' and 'Tunguska - Cauldron of Hell!') to Everyman Library first edition folios; from travel guidebooks to military histories. There are so many books here that they spill out from the shop proper and fill giant green shipping crates in the car park outside. There is hours of browsing fun to be had here. The books themselves are reasonably priced (for example cook books cost about £3-£4, paperback fiction can be less than this) but the shop can't compete with the value for money of Oxfam et al, (there is a photocopied newspaper article attesting to this pinned to one of the bookshelves). Where Sharston Books really succeeds is in offering excellent customer service - as well as offering a wide selection of books the proprietors also run a no obligation finding service where, at customer request, they will attempt to track down and purchase a copy of that rare or special book. Really Excellent.

When you first arrive you may well think you have gone to the wrong place. It is not a conventional…read morebookshop but rather a huge warehouse on a small industrial estate. Another bit of advice is wrap up well! it is the sort of place you will want to linger at but it is NOT what you would call warm!!(freezing in fact!) There are books as far as the eye can see loads of nooks and crannies. Loads of secondhand stuff although they do seem to have a lot more new stuff now. It is very unusual with some truly awful prints and pictures also for sale (although why anybody would want to??????) There are loads of magazines. I was delighted to get a bundle of out of print magazines a couple of visits ago. The only disappointing thing is that the prices have risen significantly, although it still does have bargains. You will pay more than you would at a charity shop. It is still worth a visit provided you are well wrapped up! If you are looking for unusual or old books this is a great place to start your search.
