Denise and I both pointed and said "Ooooooh, yarn shop!" when we drove past on our way to finding the Cocoa Tree Cafe for lunch. We thought it might be a bit of a 'granny wool' shop, selling mostly acrylic. Boy were we wrong!
The shop stocks a large range of big brand wools, as well as some independent handspun yarns. Some of the colours were absolutely gorgeous! I don't tend to buy yarn unless I have a specific project in mind, so walked out empty handed, but Denise couldn't go past a hank of gorgeous purple grey yarn.
There's a large table and chairs for workshops and knit groups. Cute knitted items for sale from hats to jumpers. Some independent patterns which were free to take away, as well as the usual accouterments you'd expect to find, like buttons, pom pom makers, stitch holders, needles, hooks etc.
Our friend was outside with a pram and we were wanting to get back to Edinburgh before rush hour traffic, otherwise I think Denise and I would have spent all afternoon in there!
Very impressed and very pleasantly surprised!
