It's such a shame for a small village to have hardly any facilities available to passing trade our group was glad to see this place, that has one side that is used as an antique shop and the other for a tea room. The cafe has not got a hot food licence so can only offer sandwiches and a bowl of soup if you are lucky, we where at least able to get a good cup of tea and something to eat to recharge our batteries. My friend had a sandwich with the only choice available being cheese and tomato, but there is a good selection of home baking on display. The lady that served us was nice and chatty, that made our visit a pleasant experience.

Not only did the owners stay open a little later for us they also allowed us to bring in our wee dog and we were then treated to an assortment of homemade soup, freshly baked cakes and teas and coffees all at a very reasonable price. The two ladies running the shop are just lovely - really friendly and chatty added to the whole experience and you are surrounded by beautiful, ornate vintage homeware and oddities. It's like a step back in time this little gem of a place where your tea is served in beautiful china tea cups and saucers in a homely enviroment. Definitely worth stopping in if you are passing through / in the area.

Plenty of space. The area looks very neat and tidy. More like a proper English village coffee shop Anyway the girls working there were very young. Not much knowledge of the area either. But that's fine. I ordered a latte and ginger bread and was quite impressed. The size of my cake piece was very spendacious. I can imagine customers are coming back for second portions. Literally they did on the day when I was there. They also do lunches, besides all the homemade cakes and scones. Prices are very fair. I also browsed their gift shop. Very nice candles they are selling there. It's a lovely country coffee shop. Stop there, if you can!

Lovely picturesque village. This is one of my Mum's favourite indulgement establishments! I love the Gift shop as it's chic and lots of things to pick and go ohhh! and AHHHH! at!! Cakes are all made by the owner and all fresh! Soups also are delightful on a cold winter's day. French presses come in mild, medium or strong and i always go for strong - keeps me buzzing until i get home! The cafe also do sandwiches and other edibles. It's small so it does get full rather quick. But have a browse in the gift shop and as soon as a table comes free the staff are please to come and fetch you. Nearby is ... DUNBAR (I've reviewed the Dunbar Community Bakery on the main st and it's a catch! Grab an eclair or fantastic sausage rolls ((or both)) and head to the harbour for a beautiful seascape! and SMEATON - Smeaton Garden Nursery - is a beautiful little but well established nursery with a lots of delightful finds. it has a tea room too where you can get a bite to eat and a good cuppa! It's situated in one of the old potting sheds!

It has many types of cool gift items you can buy. They sell many different art work of Edinburgh and the surrounding areas (paintings, photographs), small and large sculptors, trendy but useful kitchen toys, jewellery, and many other great gifts for the house like blankets and pillows. The store is a bit pricey, but the items they sell are pretty unique and some items I've never seen before. The store also is connected to a cafe located in the back. I didn't check out the cafe but it looked like a great place to have a cup of tea and cake after braving te cold breeze of the ocean. The store is near the train station so it's great to go shopping here then head home (if you don't live in the area and have to catch the train). I like this store, but the only thing is... You need £££... So if you're in a budget this place is great to go in for window shopping.

We saw the signs for the cafe from the road but, looking in the windows, we just saw the gift shop. After venturing inside, we found the adorable cafe tucked away between the gift shop and the gallery, with cute tables arranged around a large set of cake stands under a lovely atrium with skylights. We really enjoyed the soup of the day and paninis, and also treated ourselves to a delicious citrus poppyseed cake. There were many women interchangeably serving, taking orders, and attending to the tables, and we had a lovely lunch here. The bathrooms were also quirky and nice--the women's had nice soap that can also be purchased from the shop, and although the men's had basic soap it had a great toilet seat with fish designs! These quirky touches were really fun and endearing. I would highly recommend the Orangery Cafe, and we certainly thought it looked like one of the nicest cafes in this cute little town.
