My wife went here last night 8/13/25. She was looking for a certain product which she asked for help that she didn't get and when she found it she went to the cashier paid for it and left. She went online to check prices and was amazed to how she paid over $7 what others was selling it at. She went back in the store and asked for a refund where the guy asked her where's your receipt? Which she was never given one then said how do I know you bought it here you have no proof. Well your cameras and her credit card statement would say otherwise and then he proceeds to curse her out and tells her she's trespassing and will call the cops. All she wanted was a refund and you curse my wife out? You're glad I wasn't there! Thank God she took a video of it bcuz he is wearing a wedding ring. I walked in, *politely* asked if they had chilled wine. They didn't have Cavit which is odd. So I asked for a recommendation among the small selection of white wines they had. The clerk- with headphones visibly in her ears, her hood on, a dirty sweatshirt on, says rudely "well, they're all good. This one is good." So I got that one. Strike one. I then asked if they carried any less alcoholic/lower calorie/organic wines (yes they exist) and she said "well if you're looking to lose weight you probably shouldn't be drinking." Okay. So you're all of a sudden my nutritionist, doctor or parent? Nobody I know would say that to someone they respected. Let alone someone kind and willing to spend money in their store. Strike two. I should've left my one bottle of wine on the counter, turned around and walked out. Because there are innumerable liquor stores in Nassau County. Needless to say I'll never recommend that place, or go there again. Not only did I leave frustrated and upset, but I wanted to re-evaluate my life and my diet situation. There are reasons people have eating disorders or are on diets. Some of us have thyroid issues preventing them from losing weight. It's not okay to be rude to someone you are trying to make a sale to. Not in any capacity. Take your attitude and leave it at the door. My job is heavily people-centered. My smile and polite demeanor goes a long way. I guess there are some people who are just *not* cut out for that kind of interaction. And for that I suggest therapy and soul searching. Employee turn off lights and stood in the dark as I entered. Emphasized the store was closed and register turned off before actual closing time. I honestly felt it was due to my skin color smh. Shopping at the wine cellar is anything but ordinary. I'm a whisky guy! My wife is all about the grapes. So it's understandable that when I'm trying to pick out that perfect Rose, or Pinot Grigio, I'm a bit lost. Well, at the wine cellar I always know I'm going to get help, from serious professionals. The owner here, and- employees know a thing or two about wine! They are super friendly, and always have at least 5 bottles open and ready to sample! This wine/liquor store is a little jewel in a strip mall on Long Beach Road. Nice wine selections and even more special are the interesting and unique liquor selections. I never drank gin until I tasted Uncle Val's Botanical Gin and now it's one of my favorite drinks. This store actually has tastings of scotch, bourbon,etc. That's pretty rare. The owner of this store also owns Brasserie Persil - just down the road - and does cross promotional tastings and dinner wine pairings. I'm a fan.... read more
