    With my finished wine :)
    Irene H.

I highly recommend coming this place if you want to experience making your own wine, getting many bottles without having to pay the expensive retail price per bottle! The staff is very friendly and helpful in making sure your experience is great. They help make the simple process even easier for you! To outline the process, step 1 is where you add the yeast to the wine that you ordered on the site. Make sure to book the appointment dates online first! The yeast dropping is very quick as it takes less than 5 minutes. After that, you wait a month and they will send an email for you to come back for the bottling and wine tasting. During the second visit, you will get to taste the wine to see if it's good. They also sell labels and wine bottles if you dont have your own! She rested you will use the machines to fill the bottles with your wine, cork, seal and label and you're done! It takes generally 30+ minutes to finish everything unless you have extra hands to help. A very fun hands on experience! I ordered the white Pinot Grigio and it tasted perfect! So happy with how everything came out and I can't wait to gift the bottles to friends and family :)

This was my very first experience of making wine. It was a fun moment. First, you need to book an appointment, pick your wine, schedule for a yeast drop for your product. Next, after 6 weeks you can go back and finish bottling, label your wine and wine tasting. They also sell labels and wine bottles. The machines to fill the bottles with your wine, cork, seal and label! It takes 45 minutes to finish. I would highly recommend you to come to try it yourself.

I absolutely enjoyed the entire hands-on experience of making my own wine from scratch! From adding the yeast, to bottling, cooking, and sealing, the entire process was so fun and easy. The staff were also very knowledgeable and friendly. A great experience and at a very affordable price!

I had a fantastic experience here! To be honest I had forgotten that I had purchased wine from here, then I received several emails reminding me to come and bottle my wine! It was like finding money that you hadn't realize you had lost! The staff are great and very knowledgeable! It was my first time making wine and they led me through each step personally. It was pretty easy though! My 'yield' was approximately 14, 750mL bottles. The bottles aren't included, but you can bring your own! They provide free corks and foils as well as labels!! I would highly recommend this place!

California Chianti for average cost of $4.75

I haven't done this for at least 5 years so I ordered a batch of California Chianti in early December 2017; new client price of $93 plus $3.90 fee. On January 6, 2018, I paid $36.05 for 29 new green bottles, received self-adhesive labels, and caps to complete the job. The appointment was for 30 minutes although it took me 60 minutes to bottle everything after staff showed me the process. All in all, a nice experience for $4.75 a bottle. Now, I'm going to wait for 30 days before I crack a bottle open to enjoy!

I have been bottling wine here for five years. I always enjoy the bottling and tasting experience. Each wine I have chosen posses unique characteristics. I do have my favourites. California Shiraz and California Riesling. The staff are very helpful, their assistance is always appreciated!

Very friendly staff! I just bottled my first batch of wine 2 month ago, and only 10 out of 30 are left. I'm going to start another one in a week. Woohoo! Who needs to buy wine from LCBO, when you can make your own for fraction of what you pay there.

14 bottles of Pinot Noir - amazing!

A lovely drive to this spacious and well organised orchard…read more Pros: - many apple varieties, big juicy sweet apples. - more honey crisp (my favourite) rows than most gta apple farms. - picking types posted online, paper slip given on arrival to know where to pick - rows of apples well marked for type or not ready yet - 4 complimentary sample flight range from alcoholic to non - cute baked goods & jarred shop of treats - 2 flushing washroom , 2 outdoor potty with washing sink - small kids play area - small area to enjoy your treats. - plenty parking in field(drive directly in & park right side of picking row or open field) - most except one staff all very friendly and easy going Cons: One grumpy female senior that works there mans the orchard exit. She left the worst note to our trip. We declared and opened the trunk to show one bag of apples were picked $45 pre paid at entrance. She demanded she organise the bag as it spilled in trunk in our laundry basket and claimed we had 2-3 more apples over the limit. I asked calmly if she wanted to take them out, and she snarked she'll let us have them. To be clear, our bag wasn't even close to brimming like most others. She also pulled this to the cars in front of us. Our friends being there a week previously said another staff was much nicer but they've encountered this old timer and got the same treatment Despite the crusty senior, this place is worth the drive to. No fighting crowds for tractor rides to the picking fields, or searching for a variety that's over picked. Prices are per car/bag $45 for 20 lbs of apples, another bag is $45 that is prepaid at entrance. Entrance off the single lane dirt road is a bit sudden, no warning signs the orchard is coming.

What an unforgettable Wine Tasting Experience at Downtown Winery…read more I recently had the pleasure of visiting Downtown Winery with a group of friends (celebrating the end of a work semester) and goshhh I am still reeling from the incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic evening. Our wine tasting experience was led by the knowledgeable and charming sommelier, who expertly guided us through the wine selection. We opted for the charcuterie board, which was beautifully presented and offered a delightful experience flavors and textures to pair with our wines. The Wine Wheel was a fascinating tool that helped us navigate the complex world of wine colors and flavors (not going lie...I could barely get it after the 3rd wine tasting lol). It was amazing to see how the different hues and shades correlated with the wine's characteristics! Something new that I learned. But what truly made our experience stand out was the exceptional service. Our sommelier was attentive, enthusiastic, very funny, and happy to answer all our questions. It is a family business, the one of the owners came by, shared their story and seemed passionate about sharing their knowledge and love for wine. If you are a wine enthusiast or just looking for a unique and enjoyable experience, Downtown Winery is an absolute go to place to visit. And be sure to book a tasting and ask for the charcuterie board - you would definitely not regret it.

After a couple seconds worth of deliberations, we decided to pop in and have a quick drink. I'm really glad we did because Downtown Winery is awesome. We weren't too hungry and obviously we had to get some wine, so I decided to try one of their wine flights. I went with the Ménage a trois ("a white wine tags along on a red wine date. pinot gris * pinotage * meritage"), and the wine was brought to the table a few minutes later. I would definitely consider myself a casual wine drinker; I can distinguish good wine from bad, but that's about the extent of it. The three wines presented all seemed very much above average, and they complemented each other beautifully. (I liked the presence of complimentary corn nuts on the table, too. It's always nice to have something to snack on while drinking.) I could definitely see myself returning to Downtown Winery for a more involved experience. It's a really cool little place.
