I called to make an appointment for someone to come out and give me a quote to replace my windows, and although it was a week or more out, I was hopeful. The salesman Adrian Salazar called me the morning of the appointment to make sure I was still wanting him to come out, which I always appreciate a heads-up. And of course I was, I had lots of bugs coming in through the old original windows in my house I had recently moved into. Adrian was very personable, and full of information that I was seeking, in order to make sure all my needs were met. He quickly measured and gave me an estimate (at my urging because of those bugs!) I didn't even need to think about it, the product looked amazing, and with SO many choices. I loved the aluminum "capping" in a choice of colors for the exterior, with the interior being nice and white. I might point out that I got the 9000 series because the glass area size is greater, with a thinner vinyl frame, and I want all the glass I can get for that natural light! Adrian warned me that the email with the timeframe would be way out in the future, but it wouldn't really be that long. To say the least, when I got a phone call from Eric Rice the Project Manager saying my windows were ready, I was in shock! It had only been 25 days since that appointment with Adrian! And better yet, Eric asked if I could have them come the next day "or is that too short of notice?", my answer was a resounding not too short of notice, but yes, please. I might add that Eric also answered my myriad of questions because I wanted to make sure I had the house completely ready to get those windows installed. The next morning Marcelo and his crew started right away and knocked it out, working the entire day, even through the rain. And the results are wonderful. I absolutely love the aluminum capping which they form to the exact profile of your window trim, complete with mitered corners. They also use matching colored caulk, so that the gorgeous trim is seamless. Another great thing about these windows is the locking mechanisms on them, since they are low-profile and have a smooth feel to them. These 9000 series windows also have super smooth operating lifts in the sides, so they're easy to raise and lower both sashes and they also both tilt-in for cleaning. I only have wonderful things to say about this company and have never had such a positive experience with any type of home repair or renovation company. read more

If you are on a schedule do not depend on them. I have remodeled or as in this case new construction, a dozen homes and this has been the most exasperating. My project is now delayed a month because they had to send back to manufacture...didn't have this problem with WW And today's install...eta 9:30 is still not here at 12:30 pm...ugh.........per your response...except installation didn't go great today...nice try though...miscommunication with crew about basement per our conversation.....increased previous rating up a star because they came back to fix doors that were not put in correctly over flashing (cut flashing off that was protruding out rather than putting it under..) and because stickers come off easily read more

DO NOT USE THE WINDOW SOURCE OF ATHENS. Here is the full story. The sales guy, Steve Coffie, was fine, but from then on - nothing but trouble. My husband took a morning off work so the guy could measure all the windows. The guy called shortly before he was supposed to be there & said he was running late. My husband waited an hour, then was cancelled on. It was rescheduled. He canceled a 2nd time. Then he showed up without warning 1 afternoon when only my teenage daughters were home & wanted in to measure. Heck no! My husband made him leave & reschedule again. When he canceled the 3rd time I called Steve, the salesman, & demanded to speak with the manager. The owner, Tyler Smith, called me in response to my call to Steve & said he would personally come out the next day (Thur) to measure the windows & the order would go out on Friday. He promised me he would rush the order so they would be here in 3 weeks & cover the cost of the "rush", plus he promised to "make the situation right" by "sending us something" when it was all done with & "taking a little off the prince". Guess who showed up to measure on Thursday? The guy who canceled on us 3 times & was pissed I spoke to Tyler, not Tyler. 3 weeks came, 4 weeks came, 5 weeks came, at 6 weeks I made an angry phone call to Steve (the sales guy) at 8:00 a.m. sharp. He said he would get Tyler on the line & call right back. I never got a call back. 10:00 a.m. I had my husband call. Apparently, no one should have told me 3 weeks because we had special order windows that were sent out to another facility to be made. And one of them had to be sent back because it was not up to standards when it arrived to their shop. Did anyone call to let us know? Nope. So we finally get a date for our windows. They actually come early and Dalton schedules us for installation 2 days later. Fantastic! I am told the install crew will be at my house at 9:00 a.m. The crew didn't get to my house until 10:50 a.m. Because they were so late, they did not get all the windows placed in one day & still needed access to my house on day 2; however, I was not able to take a 2nd day off work. So I had 4 men I did not know in & out of my house from 11:30-3:30 without anyone home. My oldest daughter came home from school as they were packing up to leave. When my husband & I got home later, we started checking the windows. The trim corners looked like crap. At least 2 corners on each window frame (trim) have a gap. There is caulk on the outside of the windows that did not get cleaned off. The caulking down the sides of the windows is messy & spread onto the siding of the house. (Now the house will need to be painted). It looks like crap. AND THIS WAS THE END OF MY ORIGINAL POST on 9/21/2018. I put up reviews on The Window Source of Athen's FaceBook page, Yelp, the Better Business Bureau, my FaceBook page... Then things got even better. On 9/21/18, in a phone call with my husband, Dalton agreed to take $700 off the final price because of all the trouble we had & have the crew come back on Sat. or Mon. to make the fixes. 1 of the installers did come on Mon & fixed everything to my husband's approval. Then comes Wed, Sept 26, 2018. Tyler Smith, the owner, has his staff member, Ashley, call my husband & tell him Tyler will only take the $700 off if I (Mary Jo) remove my negative review with the (BBB) & take down my negative review on the Window Source of Athens FaceBook page. I even got Tyler to confirm it in an email. I take down my post of the Window Source of Athens FaceBook page. BBB-Atlanta takes down my review from their page. I emailed Tyler to let him know & asked for an updated invoice. The invoice comes back with a line that says "Discount to remove online review". Can you believe it!! I did not ask for a discount to remove my review. The discount was for all the trouble we went through & for them being a crappy company. Tyler would only agree to give it to us if I removed MY reviews. But the agreement was for ME to remove MY reviews. Specifically, the reviews I posted on BBB and the Window Source of Athens FaceBook page. The reviews I wrote in these 2 places were removed. We have paid our balance in full. We have an invoice that indicates we have "Paid in Full". They said our warranty for the windows is "in the mail". You should go read the reply he gave to my dad's review on The Window Source of Athens. Tyler lied in his response. And I put up a couple pictures to prove it. Tyler has called my husband twice, left a message once. Called me twice, left a message once. He's willing to do anything to get the reviews taken down. He wants the Yelp review removed also. I ordered windows from Tyler for a job that I was working on. I sent specific pictures and measurements for the windows I needed. Tyler called me on a Friday to discuss because he was confused about what I needed. I sent him additional pictures and he placed the order. The windows he ordered were incorrect. He refuses to reorder or reimburse my company for the wrong windows. I do not recommend this company as they will not make good on their mistakes. read more

The saga began on April 7, 2021. The sales rep arrived on time, measured the 10 windows we wanted to replace and left without providing a presentation and never showed an example of their windows. We received estimates 2 days later. We emailed the sales rep a week later requesting a call in order to have our questions answered. We received the call as requested, our questions were answered. We requested the sales rep return with an example of the window and we decided to add another window so the rep needed to measure the other window. The sales rep arrived, without the sample window, said he would return later in the day with sample window and would measure the additional window on his return. The sales rep was unprepared and unprofessional. The last correspondence was on Wed, April 28, 2021. It's the company's lost, we were good customers, ready to do business. read more

This company is the best. I have owned 6 homes in my life and have done business with many contractors from redoing kitchens, bathrooms, decks and roofs. I have had many bad experiences from poor tile work poor paint jobs and most of all never completing the job. Working with this company was easy. Tyler came out and gave us a price that was very competitive compared to the 2 other quotes we received. He gave us time to think over the quote (no pressure to sign that day) and we called the next morning to start the process. Our installation was schedule 4 weeks after we signed the contract which is right around the time promised. The windows look great and Bobby and his crew were a pleasure to work with. I am giving Window Source of Athens 2 stars because of the great installers. They were on time, they were friendly and they cleaned up after themselves. I also think they have a quality window. However, the salesman, project installer and owner were horrible in their communication with us. I had to initiate the communication. We were actually wondering if the company had gone out of business and we would have lost our $8,600 deposit. I understand that because of Covid, windows are taking longer to be made and received from the company. My concern is the lack of communication about this from the company. We ordered our windows on Dec. 16, 2020 and were told they would be installed in 4-6 weeks. It took 14 weeks to get the windows in and installed. Then we realize that four of the windows were the wrong ones. Today, July 16, 2021, all of our windows were finally installed. It took 7 months to get the correct windows installed after the original installation. We had interviewed five companies before we selected Window Source. I wish we had gone with one of the other companies. read more

Nine months plus now I have waited for completion of my eight window installation. A lot of wasted time on my part. A lot of finger pointing on the part of Window Source. Damage to my trim, installers not showing up repeatedly, bottom line a lot of empty promises. When someone says you have their word, that should still mean something. I was however able to recover some of my money via Discover as I filed a dispute and Window Source never responded. I am still saddled with damaged trim, and two of the eight windows have condensation on the bottom half in the morning . If you think Comcast install appointments are unreliable, wait til you deal with this group. Based on this experience I see no reason to believe at all in the warranty given, nor will I do any further business with Window Source. I am told they have narrowed the issue to the fact that Dalton is incompetent, but my paper trail and saved texts say otherwise. read more

On February 5, 2016 we ordered 15 replacement windows and 2 replacement back doors. My husband was impressed with Tyler's knowledge and professionalism. On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, our 15 windows and two back doors were supposed to be replaced. It is now Thursday and I have one man working on this job. He has been the only representative from The Window Source to step foot on my property since we placed the order. We were told a "crew" was on the way. We have yet to see a crew and while the installer is working hard, this is not a one man job. The first morning, the installer informed my husband that there had been a mistake with the outside measurements and, as a result, a half inch of OSB would be showing and unprotected around each window. The installer offered to cover it up with vinyl strips that snapped on to the window. My husband approved. The installer then came back and stated that Tyler didn't have any and, as a result, then suggested using a 1x 4 painted white. This was an unacceptable plan since we were replacing our old windows with vinyl windows to ensure no rotting. My husband tried to call Tyler twice and texted him repeatedly. We had no response until I I returned home from work and stated that install had to stop until they came up with a solution. Tyler then texted that he would cap the windows and even texted a picture. I approved. However, on Wednesday, when both my husband and I were at work, my husband called the installer to check progress and was then told that capping would not occur. I texted Tyler twice and he replied that he would call me. He did not until I left work and told the installer to get Tyler to my house. The windows that are complete look bad and I still have several that are in various stages of replacement. The installer stated when I got home that he had not capped the windows. However, after speaking with Tyler on the phone, he then stated that he was incorrect and capping had occurred because, apparently, the installer and Tyler have two very different ideas of what capping is. However, what was done to my windows does not match the picture that Tyler sent--and Tyler still has not come to the house to inspect the job that has thus occurred or address the concerns that we have. When he finally called me, he informed me that he hadn't responded earlier because he had a "business to run." The two doors have not been installed and the back entry door is actually from Lowes (which apparently was ordered either Tuesday or yesterday).. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I highly recommend using any other company. It is now Friday and we have had two more promises from Tyler to be here and have not seen or heard from him.
