I thought it was really cool that a group of guys meet there every Friday night to talk and hang out. I also loved that a random person played Sweet Home Alabama for me on the Juke Box. Hearing Sweet Home Alabama all the way across the pond in merry old England made my day. This is the pub that introduced me to non-alcoholic Guinness which is now my favorite N/A beer. Definitely a great neighborhood hangout!!

It has the most beautiful 'secret' garden at the rear where you can sit at wooden tables and enjoy the most deliciously prepared foods and sip a glass of good wine all in the surroundings of nature, you could be a million miles away from any habitation, it is so secluded. Their special , and what they are renouned for, are their sizzling steak lunches ( circa £5.99 and available until 6.00pm ). It is absolutely first class - the sirloin steak is cooked on a cast iron platter, with fresh chips, tomatoes,peas and onions. You will be hard pushed to get a steak dinner anywhere in the UK, both at this price, and for deliciousness. They have a good choice of ales, I normally opt for Guinness or Bombardier Ale, with my sizzling steak. The landlord John is a no-nonsense, but very friendly chap, and his staff, are extremely friendly also, especially Bev. A well earned 10 out of 10, and another member of the Best Of British pub grub list. Try it, you won't regret it.
