I figured, yes I can get behind this!! Got there, the guys at the front stop us at the door and are like $20 bucks, can't come in unless u pay $20, then after I mention that I thought it was free and you pay for the other stuff we got passed off to some other guy. $20 bucks, I ask if they take card, nope we need cash. It all felt sleazy and bad vibes. We walked right out the door. I have no problem trying to support cancer patients/survivors as I am a cancer survivor myself, but the interaction was super yuck and not even sure if the money was going to go in some rando's pocket or the persons they were fundraising for. Once again, Badlander leaves a bad taste. Ps. We ran into one of the ladies that we talked to at dinner before we headed to Badlander after the whole thing that I mentioned above. She was clearly intoxicated and she mentioned that they charged her $40 and she mentioned feeling taken advantage of.

Top Hat Lounge is a really fun spot with a ton of space. The interior is huge with a great stage,…read moreand the massive patio gives you even more room to spread out. There is plenty of seating throughout, so even with a big crowd, it does not feel overly cramped. The menu is a little on the smaller side, but there seems to be enough variety that I would imagine there is something for everyone. I got the ginger pork lettuce wraps and they were really good! They were pretty difficult to actually assemble, so I eventually gave up and ate everything more like a salad. The pork was absolutely delicious, though, and easily the highlight of the dish. Service was a little spotty, although we were a very large group, so I am sure that made things more difficult. Drinks were frequently missed or came out incorrectly, and our server had to reconfirm some orders multiple times. That said, they were incredibly nice and friendly throughout, which definitely helped. Overall, Top Hat Lounge is a great place to hang out, especially if you want a lot of space, a fun atmosphere, and live music. The service could have been smoother, but I would definitely come back.

I feel bad for the talented DJs and musicians that play here, there is sometimes a smaller crowd due to little to no advertising and inconsistent cover charges. The venue is five stars The BAD part....we went to see SYMPHONY ON THE RIVER MISSOULA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS THE MUSIC OF ELTON JOHN The sound was horrible. There was some sort of LOUD constant hum... we think it was the singers band, and too loud bass. The sound system was one Star When the piano singer sang with just the symphony it was incredible But that was one song. The rest of the time you couldn't even hear the symphony or the singer. Just that loud bass. I had to plug my ears We left at intermission We drove from Stevensville

We took the bus (which is FREE) to the venue and got dropped off not too far from the venue. Got there about 15 minutes before doors opened and the lines were short. On the way back we took an Uber back to our Airbnb. I highly recommend PLANNING before blaming the venue.
