Duncannon is a small village by the sea in Wexford and by its nature doesn't have many new places pop up very often. Wildrose Cafe is a lovely addition to the village and the local hotel.
Nice and spacious and clean inside, they lured me with the hope of a tea in the fine bone China on display but served with a not so luxurios but equally quaint matching cup and saucer and personal teapot with plenty of volume.
I ordered waffles and bacon and maple syrup and while the bacon rind wasn't crisp, neither were the waffles and the syrup was golden not maple, the waffles definitely had the right flavour. My dining partner got the much crisper plate than I, so I'd give it another go!
The full Irish's that were going out looked well and there was a desert cabinet with treats on display.
As this cafe is relatively new I feel that they can do a bit more to refine their offerings and make it a must for breakfast before 12 but so far, so good and a great addition to this beautiful village. read more
