For a small city of 150k they have a pretty robust and well attended farmers market. For a while I was jealous as it was just as big as some of them in Indianapolis, IN of nearly 900k. My number 1 judge of a good farmers market is the amount and diversity of produce. They don't let down here in Clarksville, plenty of produce and lots of variety. There are plenty of crafts and other things but a good amount of produce. The only downside with this market is that it can get very busy and parking is limited right near it so be prepared to possibly park a few blocks away. You cannot go wrong when it comes to Fatboy. The truck rolls around town and you get disappointed when you realize you missed them for lunch. They post their schedule daily on Facebook so you can know where and when they will be as it is a food truck. The whole family gets involved at times and everyone is so friendly. I would pick Fatboy any day of the week!

So this was my first stop on a Saturday "West Side Farmers Market" comparison adventure, and I was…read morepleased to try a variety of samples from the vendors as well as purchase some produce, kale chips, and a delicious raw wrap from the ladies at Spark of Life! They had a nice set up with some live music playing and a solid amount of tents. However, the produce was quite limited when I was here with only two tents offering fresh veggies and such. Bummer! They had a donut truck on site, but couldn't see any area to get coffee. Boo! However, I did enjoy the samples and left with some items, and was pleased overall. UNTIL I went to the other Farmer's Market on Charlotte. I have to give them a higher rating. Mostly because it lacked the produce variety and no coffee! However, I do support Spark of Life, so I'll have to stop back by on another day and see what kind of variety is offered. I had the harvest melt sandwich which is a turkey sandwich with brie, squash, turkey, seed pesto, and a sage leaf on sourdough bread. when I went, though, they were out of sage leaves which was fine by me and were also out of turkey so I had it with chicken instead. I haven't had this sandwich with turkey, but I thought it was excellent (and dare I say, better) with the chicken. The bread was perfectly golden brown and crispy and which went super well with the soft texture of the squash and chicken and the tangyness of the brie and pesto. As I said before, I got the pimento mac and cheese grilled cheese, it was the perfect blend of all flavors. Others got the classic grilled cheese which had massive cheese pulls, and chicken pesto grilled cheese. They have a milkshake bar with a variety of flavors, the restaurant is designed in that classic "old school diner" style. The milkshakes were big, they even give you the extra that doesn't fit in the mug. Everyone in my party had raving reviews which only confirmed that this place has not changed. Will be looking forward to coming back here on my next visit.
