Come to find out they were experiencing shipping delays due to the carrier's end (work shortage and wildfires...according to them). And boy did I needed some shoes bad. I look everywhere and no one even seem to have the shoe I want or an option to do curbside pick up because I can't go in the stores and being in contact with crowds like I used to. When Rack Room Shoes popped up in my search engine and I saw immediately they did curbside pick up. I was so excited and I was actually to get a much cuter shoe than what I originally ordered. Then they had a buy one get one 50% off, so I was able to treat myself to another pair of shoes which was much less than the shoes I bought in the first place. They were very quick to send a notification that my order was rrsgot to get them curbside, the only thing is the parking was pretty crazy which I understand at this location, but it's not the store's fault. I was really appreciative of one of the associates was kind enough to bring the shoes outside to me regardless because I wasn't parked in a designated spot. You all really made my birthday special for that act of kindness, cute variety of shoes, and great deals! Thank you!!!

They were running a BOGO sale, so he was able to order a second pair of the same shoes to be shipped to our house (no additional charge) at the 50% off price -- certainly better than driving around to some other store! The store seemed pretty well organized, and the ladies working were friendly and helpful, which made it about as painless as shoe shopping with a man can be. The Chuck E. Cheese is next door so there was some weird thumping and bumping from their games, but that's not exactly under their control. The annoyance of navigating Midtown Village parking aside, I wouldn't hesitate to return here.

I recently made a significant purchase with Academy Sports online. The product was showing 1 in…read morestock and only available for store pickup. First, I applied for their credit card to save a few bucks. I was accepted, but $100 less than the purchase. The site would not allow me to pay part of it with my debit card, so I just paid the whole amount. Later, I got a text saying that it wasn't available to pick up in Tuscaloosa. It gave other options, but only within 50 miles, and it wasn't available there either. So I went to the store in Tuscaloosa after work so I could talk to a human. I get there, and there's only 2 girls at the registers. When I get through the line, as usual, one walks off never to return. The girl that finally helps me doesn't have a clue. The store pick-up counter has been abandoned, and she scrambles to find a manager or equivalent. She finally gets someone, and she's not very bright either. But finally, she just says that they must have realized that they were out after my purchase. I will be promptly closing my account as soon as my card arrives in the mail. This is the worst academy location…read more The employees are rude and don't care about anything. Management is just as rude. Employees at the registers were bullying and mocking coworkers. One poor girl ran through the store crying and they continued to mock her after she was gone. They carried on a loud conversation about gossip and other people and acted like customer questions were interruptions. They have items marked clearance on the website but you can't order them for pick up and they won't honor the price in store. So you actually cannot buy it. This was such a bad experience I will definitely NEVER shop this specific location and probably will never shop again at any Academy. This location has been going down hill for a while. It's so easy to see why.
