We furnished an entire house for our oldest and the other two have found an apartment. The husband and wife that own the place are more than willing to help in any way possible! They do get quite busy so grab someone else if you need something (we always have). The best funriture we have bought are their beds. The Chiro Cloud full size mattress only (we have plenty of boxsprings from my Mom and my Wifes family) was 299.00. They are great and you can't beat the price. We wanted to get our daughters nice furniture but have a great bed for sleeping. Tracy and I highly recommend The Attic and strongly suggest you giving them a shot. We have bought new and consignment and have been 100% satisfied. To answer anyone's curiosity, I have two blood daughters and my wife has three. They range from 10-21 lol. All girls! Crazy huh?

Alright, time for an unconventional review in two respects: a positive review of a furniture store…read more Having secured my first "grown up" job in Tuscaloosa, I found myself in need of "grown up" furniture after finally ditching my well-worn menagerie of Craigslist finds. While running errands from the place at which I was temporarily staying while waiting for my new place to open up, I noticed this location of Spiller's, so I decided to stop by and peruse the offerings. Despite having visited a couple of other furniture stores in the area, I still didn't have a clear idea of what exactly I wanted, so I browsed around until a maroon couch and love seat caught my eye. After inspecting and sitting on them, I noticed a tag that said $899, but I wasn't sure what it referred to, so I asked the saleslady. She told me it referred to both, but then she told me to wait while she checked, because she thought there was a promotion running on the set. She returned with a flyer advertising the couch for $399 and the loveseat and chair for $369. After visiting a few other stores and talking to my mom, who told me "you're never going to see a price like that again!," I decided to spring for all three. I've now had them for several months and am very happy with the comfort and quality, as I'm a firm believer that furniture that you sit on should actually be comfortable as well as aesthetically pleasing. In addition to the living room set, I also purchased a dinette with chairs for $650. The set, like the upholstered furniture above, was Ashley signature furniture, and in this case, I'd seen it at the Ashley home store for over $100 more. The dinette, like the living room set, is holding up nicely and has been complimented by guests. When it was delivered, a cushion on one of the chairs had a flaw that the delivery guy was nice enough to point out and replace with another chair a day later. Speaking of which, while I don't remember offhand what the delivery fee was, it was cheaper than Haverty's, where I ordered my bedroom set from--and the delivery people were more reputable, to boot. Needless to say, I had a very positive experience at Spiller's, and would definitely return. In addition to pointing out the advertised special on the living room set, she told me about a weekend in Nov. when they put everything on discount to clear out that model year's furniture, so that's definitely worth checking out if it fits your schedule. Also, while I didn't know this until afterwards, they offer an additional discount for UA employees if you show your action card, so be sure to take advantage if this applies to you. (I later heard that Shane Spiller was Big Al back in his college years--Roll Tide!)

I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HERE AGAIN. I ordered a bedroom suite from here. Yes, their furniture is…read morebeautiful but it is extremely overpriced and the service here was horrific. I had Sandy as a sales representative. She was extremely pushy when helping my grandmother and I on our first visit to order furniture. We left after buying most of the bedroom set on our first trip in October. They told me my order would be delivered at the end of November/very beginning of December. Sandy sold my grandmother on a "gold plan" on the furniture we bought, where Sandy claimed the furniture would be delivered and the movers would spray this protective coating on it after they build the set. We returned to the store in November and purchased some other items, and a "bunkie board" to put in between my bed slats and the mattress. They told me the first batch of furniture would be delayed and delivered in late December. December rolls around and my furniture was delayed again to the end of January. I was extremely upset because we initially bought the set in October and it is was now late January and I had no bedroom furniture. Finally my furniture was delivered in late January and they did not spray it when delivered as promised, and the board we payed way too much money for was missing. My grandmother contacted Sandy and she claimed that the furniture was sprayed with the Gold Plan Protection at the factory and she just FORGOT TO ADD THE BOARD. My grandmother had to pay Havertys once again, and then we were told to pick up this board this past weekend, February 7th. Sandy told us that the board folds up and would fit into the back of an suv. My grandmother and I show up to pick up this board, Sandy is not there, and the board does not fold up and will not fit in the car. She lied to us and will not contact us back on the issue. I spoke with other representatives and they said the board will be delivered within a few weeks, but this is extremely disappointing. Yes the furniture is beautiful, but it is extremely overpriced and this whole situation is a headache.

Time for another furniture store review!…read more I purchased my bedroom set from Haverty's back in August. Haverty's was the first furniture store I visited, and I had no idea what I wanted, but I fell in love with the Brigitte set and decided to spring for it after visiting several other stores and deciding that I liked it best. I purchased a queen bed at $899 and the dresser with mirror at $1,299. In addition, I also purchased a platform to put under my mattress for $150. While the bedroom set was a bit on the spendy side, I was able to take advantage of a $100 off each $1,000 promo that they were running. Having owned the furniture for a few months now, I am very happy with it and have received compliments on it. While I have nicked the silver finish on the bottom of the dresser with the vacuum cleaner a couple of times, I've been able to fix it right up with some $3 silver acrylic paint from Target. I dealt with Janice, who I believe is an assistant manager, and she was helpful and not super pushy when making the sale. The delivery charge was a bit more than some other places in town, but they did show up in good shape within the stated time window. The delivery guy I had was also slightly unprofessional, asking me whether I'd be willing to provide football tickets in a serious way upon learning that I work for UA. Overall, I had a decent experience with Haverty's and would purchase from them again. I love my bedroom set and expect that it will provide many years of use and happiness--at least, as long as I am still single and there's no man in my life to deride its ultra-femininity. :-)
