I've been coming to this gym on and off for a few years, and unfortunately, my experience--especially recently--has gone downhill.
The biggest issue is cleanliness. The equipment often feels neglected, and there's a noticeable odor in parts of the gym that makes it uncomfortable to work out. The weight plates in particular sometimes smell like they haven't been properly cleaned, which is pretty off-putting when you're handling them regularly.
Weekend mornings are especially frustrating. Staff presence is minimal, and it doesn't seem like cleaning or upkeep is a priority during those times especially with the south Mount Shasta location. There have been multiple occasions where wipes were empty or equipment clearly hadn't been maintained between users.
Customer service has also been inconsistent. Some employees come across as uninterested or unhelpful, which doesn't create a welcoming environment. With new management in place, I was hoping for improvements, but so far I haven't seen meaningful changes.
This gym has potential--it has the space and equipment--but without better hygiene standards, more attentive staff, and improved professionalism across services, it's hard to justify staying. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements. read more
