The apprenticed plumber told me to get a carpenter to remount it, because new clip holes had to be drilled. Since when is a sink a carpenters job. Does this same apprentice plumber tell his customers to get a carpenter to drill holes when he has to run water pipes through floors. He didn'T check it out to closely, at least by laying down and looking up to see that the threads in the clip holes were good. He just assumed they were not. He charged me 59.00 and went on his way. Later that day I called a plumber off from Angies list, he came right over and accessed the situation. He repaired it immediately by remounting it with new clips and silicone adhesive around the sink basin lip. The threads were all good in the holes. There was no drilling required to make new holes for the basin clips. He reattached all the drain plumbing and snaked out the line. It only took him one and a half hours. I became a happy customer. He did a great job. I will call him again for all my future plumbing needs.

Each time they were super professional and helpful. Really positive experience, got done exactly what I needed to get done, reasonable price. They're very conscientious about the details too. With the toilets, with the one we were replacing it was really important that we get the identical one to replace it, the same form factor etc. A couple days after I made the order but in advance of the visit Debi called and was uncertain about product number we'd found on the toilet we were replacing. Something didn't seem quite right. The product number of the base of the toilet didn't seem to match the model of the lid and the color of the porcelain didn't match. After a little more investigating we discovered the at some point before we owned the home someone had replaced the lid with one from a different model and painted it to match. Long story short tracking down this detail meant avoiding ordering and installing the wrong model. Again, just real attention to detail. I recommend them.

Now, I'm a landlord and deal with tradesman and contractors frequently. I always ask for an hourly rate for labor, because if they tell you that "we quote you a job price and we charge a diagnostic fee" you have no idea how long that job will take, and it almost always benefits the contractor greatly, and you pay them whether you hire them or not. Instead of $120 per hour, it ends up being twice that much. To make a long story short, they never returned my call to answer my questions, so I hired a company that did return my calls. After diagnosing an issue as a contractor error, John Kulk later changed his story to the contractor, claiming it was our fault, which caused significant confusion and delays. John Kulk then suggested we file a claim with our homeowners insurance to correct the negligence of the contractor. The next day, the contractor stated in writing that he had "conferred" with John Kulk and repeated the same question, "perhaps that could go through your homeowners' insurance??" During the service, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. John Kulk said he can't find qualified workers and complained his employees frequently argue in front of customers. We previously had to ban John Kulk's employees from our home due to their unprofessional behavior. We also faced major reliability issues; snow removal was promised but denied immediately when the first snow storm arrived. Given the overpricing and lack of professional conduct, the quality of service here has significantly declined. We do not feel comfortable having John Kulk's Plumbing in our home again.
