The service was bad. I wish that we had gotten the name of the young lady who was serving us so I could call her out specifically because I think it was just a her problem. I don't think she is a fair representation of the staff in general. She had long, black, silky hair, was short, maybe 5'2-5'4, wore a lot of gold chains, one of which had a large golden "V" pendant. She seemed out of it. She kept missing really obvious things. For example, my boyfriend's food was the last to be ready. Myself and the others at our table had already been served our meals. When she came out with his food, she put it down in front of another guy in our party who had his burger in front of him and was eating it. We had to tell her that he already had his food, the food just brought out belonged to my boyfriend, the only person without food.
At one point, we all needed refills. She never came back to check on our drinks. When we asked for refills, she refilled 2 glasses on our table and just left. We had to flag her down again and remind her that other people at our table needed refills too. She responded like she understood, but she never came back to refill the drinks. We wound up dividing the cups that she did refill between everybody at the table so that we could all have something to drink.
A lady in our group volunteered to cover the tab and she wrote a note on it saying that we received the worst service ever. I did not know about the note. That lady was the first to leave. After that lady left, this waitress came to our table and acted put out and offended that we would leave a note like that on her receipt. I explained that we didn't know about the note. The note had nothing to do with anyone who was still at our table. She proceed to defend herself to me as if I wrote the note. That's when she crossed a line with me. I would have gladly overlooked all her other mistakes, but this (to me) crosses a level of unprofessionalism that falls beneath what I will tolerate. She proceeded to tell me that she was in fact, very good at her job and that she did not appreciate that we left that not on the receipt because her manager saw it and it embarrassed her. This made me angry because I had already told her that no one at our table knew about the note. I do not appreciate being on the receiving end of someone's beef with another person. When I told her that no one at our table knew about the note, the appropriate response to that would have been, "Oh, my bad! I'm so sorry I bother ya'll! I'll get out of ya'll's hair! Ya'll have a good night!" Her behavior was highly unprofessional. A professional person knows how to recognize and respect personal boundaries. However, she let her insecurities control her behavior and she made me listen to stuff that had absolutely nothing to do with me. She is in fact, very BAD at her job, very insecure, childish, with a touch of narcissism that makes her desperate for validation from strangers. She gave me the ick and I'm glad to be out of there.
The bathrooms were clean and spacious. Not the case in most taverns, so it's worth noting.
Later: Same Day
Had to come back and take a star off my review because I found a reply that the restaurant's owner, Kyle Kennedy left for a patron who gave the restaurant a professional and reasonable review. (Photo attached.) Now I understand why they hired the waitress that we had. It sounds like the owner, Kyle has the same problems with unprofessionalism and respecting customer's boundaries and rights to their opinions as my waitress does. You can't screen that out of the employees you hire if you can't recognize it in yourself. A company culture of narcissism, raging insecurity, and emotional dysregulation is emerging as a pattern to me as I read the reviews. I will never be back.
