Are you in the market for Coffin Nails and Incense? Do you collect Vintage Cabinet Cards or animal teeth? Then I have great news for you: The Weeping Glass is your one-stop-shop for all of your macabre needs!
I have a confession to make: I am secretly in love with all things spooky.
Bones and Fossils, Tinctures and Potions, Pumpkins and Candles (candles CAN be spooky, okay?)... all of the things people generally reserve a place in their minds for during Halloween. Not as blatantly as some, but I assure you, I'm very spoopy on the inside.
It took me WAY too long to stop into this unique shop. It's literally 5 minutes from my house, and I walk by it all the time... After finally checking it out, I'm sure I'll be back! Allentown area has been blooming into a fascinating heavy-metal-culture neighborhood lately, and the Weeping Glass fits perfectly into the equation.
The inside is kept dark, because let's be honest: This set-up would simply not work with anything more than dim lighting. It feels like you've stepped into a shop in Knockturn Alley... or for non-Harry Potter fans, it feels like you've stepped into the bazaar of a powerful wizard who just loves gems and skulls.
There are bones galore, so if you like bones, this is a happy place. There are also dried plants, sea urchin shells, jewelry, macabre throw pillows, assorted vintage things, and candles in the very best ghastly scents, like "Edgar Allen Poe" (Does NOT smell like turmoil and heartache).
Final thought: This is a fantastic and well-thought out shop. The layout, the lighting, and the perfectly curated selection of goods (both locally made and globally found) makes the Weeping Glass stand out. read more
