Came here to wedding dress shop after having heard multiple recommendations. There was good street parking availability by the shop. There was an industrial feel to the building and a ton of dresses to choose from. It was an interactive experience where everyone from my party was able to select dresses for me to try on. Staff was friendly and really helped me understand what I liked to find the perfect dress. I was able to find my dress on my first try! Prices were as expected for a wedding dress but had a good variety within the price range I was looking to stay around. I like that there is a cap for alteration cost, so you can stay within budget and expect the additional amount to spend. I would definitely recommend! read more

After going to MANY shops for wedding dresses, this was by far the best experience. Mikayla was so helpful in explaining the process and listening to what I wanted. Me and my family were given clips and allowed to browse through all the dresses and 'clip' the ones I wanted to try on. Mikayla pulled some suggestions as well as to what I wanted. While trying them on, she would set up the dress and then step behind a curtain until I was ready for her to button it up or zip it. The privacy was appreciated! I literally could cry how perfect my experience was here! I've dreaded shopping for a plus size wedding gown my entire life and figured I'd be asked to try on everything that didn't fit to imagine what it would look like if it was in my size. Not here!! They had nearly every dress I wanted to try on in my size! We were able to browse the rack first which was nice just for ideas and preferences. But she also pulled a lot of things she thought I would like too! We narrowed it down and tried on my top choices again last. She was moving us along nicely and I didn't feel rushed but efficient! I honestly didn't try on ANYTHING I liked at julie Allen (the dresses also didn't fit me) near where I live and at the wedding embassy there were at least 4 I loved! Krissy helped me out and I felt very comfortable with her. I haven't picked my wedding dress yet but I'm nearly positive it will be one from this experience! Came here today with my best friend, she had an appointment to try on wedding dresses. We had gone to David's Bridal earlier in the day, and showed our salesperson a pic of the dress she loved that was the top contender. She proceeded to say that my friend looked like a "blob" in that dress, and later on brought it up again and said she looked like a "whale". Seriously?! Totally rude and completely turned all of us off. Needless to say, she didn't buy a dress from there and we went back to David's Bridal. Customer service here needs serious work. read more

Let me start off by saying, my dress was beautiful and perfect. Let me continue by saying that it was the least pleasant experience I had during the whole wedding planning process. The first time I went was on Champagne Sunday. Such a blast. The girl that pulled dressed for me was a delight. However, the "oops this is out of your budget" stunt was a bummer. The staff should really check before they pull stuff. Either way, I loved the dress and went with it. Once it was ordered I get an email saying "oops, this dress was back ordered and we didn't know so it might be really late and close to the wedding when it arrives". Okay, I can roll with things like that. So we scheduled my fittings in advance as a precaution. Two fittings within a week of each other. The last within 2 days of the second. I go to my first fitting. No one even says "hello" for the longest time. Then, I get fitted and the dress is very snug. I tell the seamstress I'll wait until my next fitting to let it out if I need to. The owner comes over and rudely says "do you really think your body is going to change?". Wow. Unprofessional. Ridiculous. Rude. Come back for my next fitting. Guess what? Dress fit perfect. Thank God I didn't let them let it out!!!! The seamstress didn't show me how to bustle and said that she would show me when I picked it up. I go to pick up my dress. Again, waiting at the front and no one says "hello" or anything. Finally go to the back and the seamstress goes "are you going to pay?" as if I was some sort of deadbeat that wouldn't have paid for my dress alterations. Which, by the way, the seamstress only takes cash. What is this? Bootleg style alterations? Even my friend was like "wow, she seems rude. What was that?". I pay her and she asks if I need change. I did. I don't know if she expected a tip but after the way I was treated, that wasn't going to happen. She rolls her eyes. Then I ask her to show me how to bustle. She goes "I didn't already show you?". I say no and she rolls her eyes again and slaps her hands down. Clearly annoyed, shows me and my friend. Such incredibly rude people. I would NEVER have a bride go there. As soon as the dress sale is made they treat you like trash. I wish I took it elsewhere to get altered. Somewhere that wouldn't make rude comments. Just all around a horrible experience. That being said my dress (that they DID NOT have to let out) was amazing. My advice? If you want to buy from there, fine. Take it somewhere else to get altered. read more

I was trying to find a great tailor in CT, did not buy my dress here, however, I did get a tailoring quote and from the second I stepped into building, I felt very welcome! I also felt they had a great variety of dresses and should have looked there first! Joseph set everything up for my and answered my 5000 questions I had before I made an appointment. He was super helpful and was very knowledgeable about WE products. My tailor who was providing the consultation, Linda, was amazing! She told me the things I needed and things I didn't need (but if I wanted them she could do them). Her customer service was so great and everyone was so nice and helpful! I went ahead and started my fitting and was very happy with the service I walked out with. They all followed the COVID-19 safety protocols and everything was great! The Wedding Embassy is fantastic! Let me explain... For my first appointment, I went to Marie's Bridal in Fairfield. It was AWFUL. They didn't have many dresses and what they had were in very small sizes. They barely helped us, scoffed at my wanting sleeves, and when the sample I tried on was too snug, one woman commented - "Well, it almost fits. Maybe lose some weight before next year..." Seriously?! Look, I want to lose weight like every other bride. But how dare you say something like that to a girl trying on dresses for the first time? I left the store in tears. On a whim, we headed to Wedding Embassy - thank god! It was very busy, but they let us browse and said we could schedule an appointment before leaving. After browsing and ready to go, to my surprise, they were able to fit me in and did so on the spot. I worked with Lorraine who made me feel better about myself and the whole process. She also helped guide me to a style of dress I was nervous to try, and which looks WAY better on me than anything I was picking. She nailed it! I can't recommend this place enough. Go! read more

Had a wonderful experience here! The space is well designed with a wide selection of dresses in different styles. My stylist was extremely knowledgeable -- about styles, fabrics, alteration costs, etc. She helped me identify what I did and did not like, pulled things for me to try based on what she was hearing in the room, and helped me identify what worked best for my body. She was present and helpful, but not pushy in any way. They were kind enough to let me come back again with my sister for a second try on, sorting through some confusion I had around which dress was which and what could/could not be done in alterations. I'll start off by saying that when as a bride The Wedding Embassy is wonderful. The Sunday private shopping experience is amazing with mimosas. Also, the trunk shows are great as well! However, as a bridesmaid it wasn't the best experience. I understand that this time of year is incredibly busy. Everyone getting engaged from the holidays must really stress out the wedding business. We had an 11:30 appointment at WE. We weren't brought back to the dressing room until 12PM. Luckily we knew exactly what dress we needed because we had been the week before and narrowed down the details. The MOH pulled it and brought it back to where we were. We all tried it on and then sat around waiting for someone- anyone- to measure us. When we were about to leave some bridesmaids left early and waited at the front desk for ten minutes to put their deposit down. No one was there to accept their money. When someone finally did come up to the desk- they didn't offer help so those bridesmaids left. I feel bad for our bride who is already stressed enough. This is supposed to be a joyous occasion but now she has to worry about everyone putting their deposit down in a timely manner. read more

I was beginning to feel somewhat discouraged, wondering if my dream dress didn't exist. Then came Lorraine. If ever there was a dress whisperer - it is Lorraine. We recently went to try on wedding dresses for my daughter. We were told to clip dresses that we liked. After clipping quite a few the consultant brought them into my daughter and said oh no these will not work. She bought in a few others we tried on all of three dresses. Then was told we do not have anything else that will fit you. It was not a good experience for a first wedding dress experience. We have since gone to another shop and had a wonderful positive experience. Consultants should be more careful of a brides feeling if the customer isn't a size 2. The space is absolutely gorgeous and every employee made sure to make me feel like I had their undivided attention. They have an amazing selection of bridal gowns within a reasonable price range, and the staff are absolutely fantastic. Let me start off by saying I made an appointment on a Sunday which was just me and my girls, so there were no other customers in the store. We had Chrissy help us, I found the dress we liked, told us it was made to be strapless, when it really wasn't. She also measured my maid of honor wrong. In the notes she forgot to write " strapless " they said it must of slipped her mind, I would say that's something big. When I picked up the dress that's when I saw the straps the owner said that style wasn't meant to be strapless. When I asked if they could waive the fee of alterations she told me no. They told me they would do a rush order on my maid of honors dress , that would take a few weeks which I understand, but didn't bother to call and tell me it got stuck in customs. There for I would not recommend this place, or maybe find someone who knows how to measure correctly. read more

The Wedding Embassy was the 2nd place I went to try on dresses. The place itself is beautiful. Don't be afraid of the outside. They have the process down. When you walk in they give you clips to attach to the hangers of the dresses you like then they pull them for you and put them in your dressing room (which I might add is the biggest dressing room I've ever been in). This is done by your own person to help ONLY you. She even picks a couple dresses for you based on what you tell her you like. Each dressing room has its own sitting area for your friends and family to wait for you to come out and stand on your pedestal. The entire experience made me feel so good, so special and taken care of. Megan (the awesome owner) didn't even have the dress that I ended up picking for me to try on but I bought if from her anyway (she ordered it for me). My dress came in a day earlier than she said. I have friends in the Wolcott area that suggested I try the Wedding Embassy, after trying on a hundred dresses other places. I heard from many people how beautiful the boutique was, that they had everything I'd need or even think of and the staff was amazing. Hannah helped me on my first appointment and she was perfect. She really listened to what I felt I wanted to try on. I picked out a few dresses and she picked out one for me to try. On the hanger, I felt like ehhh its ok, but she knew what she was talking about. The dress she picked out for me was the one I fell in love with and ordered. Everything about my dress made me feel perfect. My fittings have gone smoothly and Linda has been very accommodating. Lorraine is another very nice employee that I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with the last time i was there.
