Then for entree we enjoyed a wonderfully prepared Herb Crusted Wild Pacific Red Snapper With Creamy Parmesan Polenta, Basil Pesto. I enjoyed the Pan-Seared Nova Scotia Deep Sea Scallops on a fresh bed of lettuce mix and greens. So definitely a restaurant to try but you'll want to plan staying a night or more given they are on an island off the Vancouver island! Rooms are great also with some placed in cabins with views making you feel like you're in a tree house amongst the pines. Of particular notes, each morning different fresh baked muffins mysteriously appeared outside the suite door . But definitely the breakfast each day was amazing.

I have chronic pain and long standing issues from an MVA and she really did help. My roomie got a massage that was more related to stress and emotions. Theres only one RMT so we took turns. We both came out feeling genuinely happy. The Massage room is a separate house, also another amazing structure. Its clean, modern, well-set up. She asks you tell her about your body and when you go to disrobe, she goes behind these doors and then you tell her when youre ready. I actually love the face pillow that you put your head on when lying face down, it is, for once, comfortable!! Host: Luannah said she was going to send me referrals in Vancouver for a chiro and an RMT, which I thought was really kind and thoughtful of her. She knocks on the door and also responds to texts and calls. Her husband and kid came home later in the evening. She was super caring, thoughtful and helpful. Even packed us food to go cause we were in a rush for the ferry. Provided advil. Wifi is good. Shower nozzle was super tricky to get right. There's cat in the main area and I think I only sneezed and blew my nose a handful of times, which I'd say youre pretty safe imo. Cat is 19 year old Jeremiah who goes outside and stays downstairs, super cute!! Hot tub was my super favorite part.

From the Seaview Haven Chalet, with it's own kitchen and two floors of my own space, it was blissful peace from the moment I dropped my bags. Definitely rustic, with a grandma's house vibe (complete with stuffed animals) the chalet only has one piece of "technology," a CD player--ideal when you're there to escape! *And a potty note -- they are on a septic system, so if you can handle tossing your TP in the trash instead of the bowl, they greatly appreciate it!* The view from the bedroom was incredible! Waking up to look at the ocean, framed in trees always has a way of winning my heart! My only suggestions would be for them to update some of the furnishings, linens and bedding. Right next to the main house, a stream runs straight over the big rocks leading to the ocean. I had to admit, there was something serenely magical about sitting out on this edge. When the tide was out, I spent so long stretched out on a long rock with my book that I sunburned -- ouch! A bathtub (yes, a bathtub) that you can fill up is built right into the rocks. I didn't give it a try - not being a bath person myself, but it does have a great view! *A deer note: Make sure you're around at dinner time, that's when the deer come out and try to sneak nibbles through the fences they have protecting their gardens.* There's also a couple of rooms they rent out inside the main house which had extraordinary views as well! Maybe if I'm feeling more social next time I want to escape I'll look into one of those...one did have a hammock after all! If this is up your alley, I should warn, the house is situated down a long steep gravel road, 12 km from the ferry terminal. That's about 1/2 way up the island, so I'd say a car, or really powerful bike legs...and it is a hilly ride!

The quality of the food supported a glowing atmosphere conducive to great conversation. Five course set meal of local ingredients that changes daily. My wife and I had wine pairings with the meal. We were there for just over 2 hours and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Though we enjoyed the wine, we would have liked a dark red to be included as part of the wine pairings; I suspect the lack was simply due to BC having good white/light wines whereas a good red would not be local. (I might be mistaken). In any case, the 3 white wines were good, the rose was fine, and the blackberry dessert wine was surprisingly good. Certainly not a reason to miss this treasure. Each course was carefully explained by the server. Brock himself visited several times to inquire about our experience, and could go into great detail on the intricacies of such things as raising hogs and turning them into great meat, on the challenges of roasting a savory dark coffee blend, on gathering wild mushrooms, etc. He clearly enjoys creating great culinery experiences. FOOD - 5 stars. A well-designed mixture of flavors and textures, beautifully presented. 1) "Salad" consisted of small portions of 4 different fresh items - beets with apples; small crisp cucumbers; heirloom tomatoes, and a green slaw. 2) Miso soup. My gosh I didn't think miso soup could taste so good. My wife is from Japan and I lived there many years so have had plenty of good miso soup. This version was outstanding and creative. Included spinach, freshly picked small chantrelle mushrooms, and fava beans. 3) Salmon. Beautifully moist with a crispy skin, served with huckleberries and raspberries, perfectly prepared green beans, cauliflower soft on the inside with a crisp outer layer, and delicious house-made tartar sauce containing wild French Sorrel. 4) Ham. A large slab of ham with small baked potatoes and carrots. Incredible. The layer of fat on one side was a crispy texture with a wonderful light bacony taste. The meat was tender and lucious. Brock raised the hog, and prepared the meat over several days. Wow. 5) Dessert. Ice cream with fresh berries, mint, and more. Very good, clean taste. Also, the coffee was outstanding! Deep taste with a long smooth finish. SERVICE: 5 stars. Both the server and Brock were attentive and explained all the food, answering any questions. AMBIANCE: 5 stars. Brock was accommodating when we came early so we went on a hike of the area that is very close to the trans Canada trail and some interesting trestle bridges. Coming back for dinner we were in for a real treat. It's a 5 course chef surprise tasting menu with pairings all for only a $100 each. Starting with a sping salad, local mozzarella and roasted peppers, then an amazing cream of asparagus soup that was incredible sweet and had no butter! Followed by a spot prawn and snap pea course. Finally the main was some wild venison and finished with a medley of rhubarb and hazelnut dessert with wild blackberry sorbet and sugar snap cookies. Each was paired with a local wine. The meal was nothing short of incredible and he accommodated dietary needs easily. Great service.
