My first visit was amazing. I had asked for a brow wax and tint and the person I sat with pointed out I didn't have much to wax, which is true. So on her suggestion we only did a tint and they just tweezed the strays that were sticking out. So it was still a clean job and the tint looked amazing. My second visit just now, by far the worst experience ever. I went ahead and just asked for the tint this time with the understanding that I'm paying the job's worth. However the person I sat with did such a bad job- it reiterated my core belief that you can't just let anybody touch your brows because, trash. To start, before we did anything, I asked if we could still clean the strays around the edges and she said "yes I saw that. I could even tweeze and trim the group of strays I that's growing up on that one side"- which I appreciated, because that's the story of my life. The end result? Trash. The tint was uneven and the trim she did was crooked, barely tweezed, strays everywhere and she only "cleaned" one brow (parentheses because it was still TRASH). I kindly pointed out and asked about the strays that were practically tap dancing the edges and why only ONE brow was attempted on. she puffed (lol YES you did, DO NOT say you didn't. Just.. don't) and she said "well you would need to get the wax" and I replied "????... but.. that's.. what I asked you in the beginning (and I repeated her exact words from before)" and she said.. "oh well I meant only trim the bunch on this brow"--Which was crooked af. Not once did even brush to check if the one edge she "cleaned" aligned at all. At check out: The receptionist: "how was it?" Me: "hmm.." Receptionist: "Oh I get it. It sometimes takes my 5 times before I like something" Me: .... ? "No the first time was amazing, way better..." Indifferent receptionist that no longer cares and is now fully focused on collecting payment: "are we paying with card?" Miss, WHY TF DID YOU ASK? Lol you clearly didn't care, nor wanted to hear it. So.. why.. ask. It's a beautiful Saturday and will not let this train wreck experience win. I quietly paid- no tip. And I'm now at another salon contemplating how to fix my brows because I travel tomorrow. But you know what, let me go pick up a good blade and tweezers, because. My first experience was warm, friendly, and i left looking amazingggg. This second visit, while it's clear there was a misunderstanding (no trip, it happens) their job was so bad and everything else after that--I could tell she just wanted to finish the job and get rid of me. I showed no attitude, remained respectful. I did not feel welcomed at all and the results matched the feeling. She said she wasn't a morning person, so if you still choose to come here, maybe try the afternoon??? Never again for me. read more

The Wax Bar is relatively new to Valdosta and has a great reputation already, which is why I decided to stop by. It's situated in an unassuming little space in the strip mall located off Gornto/Baytree (right across from the movie theatre, on the Gornto side.) I was pleased with how clean and nicely decorated the inside was! This place is snazzy. They only offer walk-in appointments so I opted to come in right when they opened. I signed in and went straight to a chair with no wait time! Tiffany did my eyebrows and they turned out great. She was very professional and even offered to touch up any areas that I was unhappy with but she did a great job the first time, so I was good to go in just minutes. She applied some witch hazel before I left and the area never even turned red that day, nobody I saw later could even tell that I had been waxed earlier. They offer many other services so I recommend checking them out for all of your waxing needs! Make sure you "check-in" via Yelp so you can claim 10% off your service while the offer lasts. read more

I was visiting from out of town & needed an eyebrow wax. I arrived right as the establishment opened. Was told it would be a 2 hour wait... a five minute eyebrow wax!???? Obviously it's a management issue if you don't have enough people to run your establishment. Oh well. You didn't get my money anyway! read more

I had a Brazilian done here, it was my third time getting a Brazilian was, but my first time to the Wax Bar. I had heard great things about it from Facebook and friends so I decided to try it out since my usual place was booked until Tuesday. I wish I had waited until Tuesday. The staff is very professional and friendly and they have a very cute, modern waiting room and storefront. The room they took me in wasn't like a totally enclosed room. Kind of like a large cubicle with a locking door. So I felt a little uncomfortable that I could hear others conversations so clearly. But that wasn't a huge deal. I did see some was with some hair on the wall next to the bed, which kind of turned me off but they told me they had been very busy earlier so I can Understand. The girl who did me was was very polite and professional. I'm not sure exactly what was different with this salon, but man it was so painful! I've had it done before and knew what to expect but this hurt so much. read more

Currently sitting in my car across the street debating wether or not to post a review, but since I seem to be one of a few other people that have experienced the same thing (and bold enough to write about it because I know we can't be the only ones), I figure I will go ahead and explain my experience. First I walk in with a very bland to no welcome. I get sent to a room and told to undress waist down and wait for her to come back... okay all good. Whatever. Well I've gotten SEVERAL waxes done before and they have all been hard wax so I knew coming into this, id be really nervous about the process of honey waxing. I was reassured it would be okay and "it's better" and of course... it's the most highly rated wax shop around so surely they will know what they're doing and I'll end up with something I love, even if it hurts more. Well yikes... I immediately was uncomfortable from the first strip hurting so bad. I didn't realize they would be using actual strips to rip the honey wax off and just thought it would be a ball of honey wax that I have seen (and used myself on my legs). I really tried my best to stay calm and work through it despite my body jerking everytime with a rip... and I could tell my waxer was getting cautious. I looked down at one point and saw that I was bleeding (which I never have getting Brazilians done) but like what??? And then we're done so I get down to look and there is A LOT of hair left and my cheeks were practically sticking together. I am in so much pain, left with little blood marks all over, HAIR (which is normal to have a little but holy hell is so much) AND still have wax on me. I proceeded to pay and get the hell out of there, but still trying to be nice so I said have a great day, to which a few ladies responded but not my waxer, who I looked straight in the eyes as a nice gesture. I will definitely not be coming back here. I'm super disappointed and sad this was my experience. :( read more

I would give 0 if I could. These people do not know how to wax. My wife went there to get a waxing, and they ripped a lot of skin off her face. It was way more than some skin lifting. Layers of skin were ripped off. She has raw skin exposed, that is taking days to heal. They then refused to take responsibility. Do not go here. They do not know what they are doing and are injuring people by ripping of skin. read more

To be FAIR, my experience was unique, I hope as the circumstances of my 1st visit here were unique, I hope. The results are unfortunate, painful and unbecoming. I will explain. I went in on July 8th for a Brazilian South. It was unfortunate that the A/C had broken that day and they were without air. It was HOT in there. I initially thought it was me and it wasnt something was advised of when I came in and checking in. My waxer (who was AMAZINGLY NICE AND WHY I TOUGHED THROUGH IT) advised me after she came back from allowing me to prep for my waxing session. We agreed that it would be uncomfortable but we could get through it. NOW...we were sweating like whores in church in this room. We laughed talked and keep ourselves occupied. She did my legs first then full brazilian. NOW: I have had a zillion brazillians... never with the soft wax and strips, always with the wax that dries and it simply pulled off no strips. So she explained this would probably be less painful to me. The legs were a cakewalk. I was even concerned that it DIDN'T hurt wondering if I had wasted money on this. WE GET TO THE BRAZILIAN: I am nervous...so MORE SWEAT. She assures me that we've got this and I agree. We press on. This s%&t hurt like all get out but..Brazilians hurt...right? Plus I'm sweating and uncomfortable so maybe it's me. I power through. I can FEEL that she may have gone over a few spots more than once. TRUTH: I rolled in there 1970's porn style so my bad. But never had I felt the sensations I was feeling then...I was hurting pretty damn good. She powers through, pretty make up melting and all..and I lay there melting like a snicker oh a hot summer sidewalk in hell. She finishes. I'm grateful, sore and exhausted. I go home to change. I HURT!!! But a fresh wax hurts...right?? I've never hurt after a wax before BUT I'd never had a wax with strips so this is normal right? I don't know. The next day I can barely take my Luke warm shower because my Wonderland feels like F%ck you for doing this to me. I go commando in a long dress because: 1: I have stubble on my legs 2: Panties hurt like barbed wire Off to work I went. It hurt to sit. I power through cause I am a professional first! I get home and I try another shower...holy hell baskets...this HURTS!! I wake up the next day, head to the shower, check my jiggly, chocolate, sexy in the mirror and my whole Wonderland and thunder thighs are bruised like a UFC fighter had met it in the Octagon for a heavyweight belt match. My husband inspects and says: Damn, what did she do punch the wax off and on?! I hate him! Its day three. It still hurts to pee. I have stubble on my legs, several missed LONG 70s porn cooch hair chilling in and on my Wonderland and I'm bruised like my cooch and thighs are named Tina and I'd pissed off Ike. So there you have it. The facility was clean, everyone was professional and kind, they are quick and take walk ins. I will NOT say don't go. I'm just honest about my life experiences. This...I pray was just a whole lot of unfortunate events leading to my Wonderland's being left with a "under construction" sign on it for however long it takes to heal. read more

So I am a long time Brazilian wax girl, +8 years and my first experience with wax was soft and after moving from NC to LA I discovered LA only offered hard wax so I was slightly nervous going back to soft after having hard wax for the past 4 years. Brianna was amazing!! She was so polite, super fast, and it was not anywhere near as painful as I remembered haha. I was also skeptical considering they offer walk-ins only but please don't let that turn you off from giving them a shot--I had a great first time experience and this will be my new regular spot in GA!! read more
