This is probably the least appealing of several restaurants along the sea front, which is funny because it's owned by the same people as Meditteranos just down the street, which I love. Sometimes you see the waiters and waitresses running back and forth between the two, perhaps with a pint or a bottle of wine.
I terms of pricing, this is also the most expensive of outlets, but once you taste the food you'll probably concede that it's worth those extra pennies. This is good, hearty British food at its tastiest.
Like all restaurants along this stretch, The Water's Edge enjoys spectacular views over the Bristol Channel, and you can enjoy watching the sun set over Penarth, Somerset, Flat Holm and Steep Holm of a summer evening.
The thing that lets this place down, therefore, when compared to the others nearby is the atmosphere, I'm afraid to say. While the others have an upmarket restaurant feel, this place is more like a pub with its benches and drinkers lounging outside.
