Thy have no sense of urgency or care, takes a month for them to get out and check your system

Worst company experience. Complete highway robbery! I had one sprinkler head that needed fixing and it ended up being 900.00. I had such a bad experience with this company that when I saw them at a neighbor's house I stopped my car and got out and warned the little lady. They winterized my system and come spring I had to hire another company to come turn it on and they found that the Water Elf had removed the wires to my sprinkler box. read more

I had the same Water Elf crew (Robert and Gabe) at my house multiple times to correct water leaks to my home lawn sprinkler system. Each time they apparently provided substandard work by "patching" and "rigging" the system, instead of making quality repairs. I was also charged for service calls each time, and because this "rework" was unscheduled, I was not given priority by the office in their return. I would be told it would be "tomorrow afternoon", before they could be there and when the afternoon was over with a no-show crew, I would call the office and either get Angela or her answering machine. Most of the time I didn't get a return call, and I would call the next morning, and Angela would give me a "song and dance" about not having enough personal, etc. After rescheduling my repairs several times they would finally arrive to supposedly "make the repairs". In no time, the system sprang another leak at the EXACT SAME LOCATION PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED, and continuously flooded my yard causing my water billI up to go through the ceiling, I got my neighbor to help me stop the leak at the main water valve by the street. I am a disabled elderly widow, and cannot risk the chance of falling while trying to correct something that should not require correction! That was the final straw. I went to work with my iPhone to find another repair company with excellent reviews. When they arrived promptly the next morning, I showed them where they had been working previously, the invoices to let them know what had previously been repaired, the type of work accomplished, and the parts procured and used. It just so happened that the invoices showed the calculation of the man-hours for labor. The boss couldn't believe his eyes. According to their invoices, The Water Elf charged for parts that very obviously had not been replaced, and the parts they listed were not accurately priced. They were overcharged. According to the "new company", The Water Elf also overcharged me for man-hour labor for the job based on the description, the scope of work stated, and industry standards for that work. The "new company", at my request, went ahead and replaced all valves and provided new electrical wiring to ensure the leaks would be permanently stopped. Bingo! On their first visit it was repaired in a timely, cost-effective manner, and it has been months since they worked on it, and it is still in working order!! The Water Elf is permanently off my list, and I cannot recommend them to anyone for anything! read more

Initially, I found the service to be acceptable however, I ran into a problem with one of the sprinkler heads approximately 2 weeks after the initial service was completed. I called in to request a second visit and the conversation was pleasant. I understood it was the busy season and thus, I was fine with the 2 week wait. 2 weeks passed and my pre-scheduled date had come; I called the company just before 5pm to inquire about my scheduled appointment (as I hadn't heard from anyone the entire day) only to be delivered excuses about personal family issues which had absolutely nothing to do with the business being conducted. I was also delivered the excuse that they only had one technician which again; Is not my problem considering the appointment was made 2 weeks prior! I finally received a phone call around 9pm that night (very unprofessional) from the tech stating he had worked over 80 hours that week but would be at my location "first thing in the morning" the following day (Father's Day). The gentleman arrived at 2pm with no apology for the delay, nor any remorse for his failure (on Father's Day). The technician performed his duties, but failed to confirm his work before departing. When it seemed he was wrapping up, I approached him regarding the invoice of which he stated he needed to write it up and get my signature - so I told him to simply come get me when he was complete. As he was primarily working in my back yard, I left the rear patio door open so that he could get my attention - he went to the front door and knocked but I didn't hear him so, he left the unsigned invoice in my front door for me to discover 15 minutes after we just spoke. At this point, Angela had given me her personal cell number for direct contact which I utilized to notify her that one of the sprinkler heads replaced was not properly rotating, accompanied by a video for proof. She promptly called me back - with the excuse that her technician was 'solo' but would return to fix ASAP. The technician arrived a day or so later, accompanied by the owner who failed to introduce himself to me (unprofessional). They corrected the issue, and installed a riser for one of my sprinkler heads as requested but did a very poor job of ensuring that it was securely staked in the ground. Again, there was no follow-up to ensure the job was done to my satisfaction - they departed with no notice! The following Sunday, at approximately 5pm, I received a call from Angela requesting my payment information as she stated she had failed to charge me for the first service (a month-and-a-half prior) and now needed to charge me for both services (Totaling $1000) simultaneously (unacceptable). I settled the debt and attempted to enjoy the rest of my Sunday. I noticed a new problem approximately 2 weeks later and sent another video in which I stated I had noticed the heads are no longer overlapping or spraying as they were after the initial job had been completed. I sent this message at, or around 5pm. I received a message from Angela from her personal phone around 9:35pm the same night (very unprofessional) accusing me of speaking "down" on her company - something I never alluded to. She also obviously failed to listen to the video as she responded in the context of a previous problem that was in no way mentioned within the video sent in question. The text message is attached. My experience was horrible overall, my Father's Day ruined, and money spent for sub-standard service. I am highly disappointed and disgusted in the level of customer service delivered. I'll stick to larger corporations instead of trying to support small businesses if this is the treatment I can expect. read more

The Water ELF - Contacting customers after normal business hours is highly unprofessional. It's worse when they put words in the customer's mouth! - Irrigation Near Me - Augusta, Georgia

Recently,my home was finally cleared of all debris from hurricane Helene. I needed to have my irrigation system working. A neighbor recommended the Water Elf Co. I called WE and set up an appointment to have my system checked out. I talked to an employee,Robert to determine what would be involved. After his assessment I asked him to put me on his schedule. There were some obvious problems and some that were not. The work ethic of the technicians ( Robert and Gabe ) were impressive! They were professional and very knowledgeable. They used their skills to determine the problem areas and repair them. Their skill was impressive! When bad weather forced delays, the office manager Angela did a superb job keeping me informed when the crew would return and complete it. The job was finished and the system is working! I thought the cost was reasonable and they gave me a military discount! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE WATER ELF CO. FOR IRRIGATION PROBLEMS! read more

Initial $99 service call to reprogram sprinkler system. Took a few minutes. I also advised the tech a back yard sprinkler was not oscillating. Tech said he didn't have part on truck that day, but would return for approx $135 to replace 1 sprinkler head. High price but I said ok. After 2 weeks of no contact, I called office. Female told me they were busy but could come following week. 2 Techs arrived on promised date in big truck. One tech said was his 2nd day in job. Other tech appeared clueless on how to charge sprinkler head. Brand new tech coached him through job. Had to install head twice to clear gate then get head on straight. Literally rammed head into ground. I hope it doesn't leak. Did not test the head to see if it worked. Presented me a bill for $317! Bill: $28 sprinkler head; $99 service call, $190 for 2 techs in assigned truck. I said no way. I called office and rude woman said she was owner and yelled at me that I would pay bill or she would sue me. I told her to sue me as I was not paying $317 for replacement of 1 simple sprinkler head. She said she would drop service call ($99) but I had to pay the remaining $218. I said no. I paid for part ($28) plus 1 technician ($95) I paid total $123. She was yelling & screaming at me she would sue me. I told her again to sue me and gave check to tech. By that time she was on phone with tech yelling & screaming along with calling me names. I overheard the call. I told both techs thank you but that was all I was paying. I can not recommend this company after this horrible experience. read more

I hired the Water Elf company to repair my sprinkler system before the sod was supposed to be installed in my yard. They came out on 1 August 2024 and performed work on the head-end part of the system. The technician advised me that the head-end part of the system was repaired but there were two zones that had no pressure so he would return to deal with that. We paid $520.50 for the repair and a $99.00 service fee for the estimate. He advised us that he would be back to finish the repair. When he never showed up, I called and asked when he was coming back to finish the job. They said he was not scheduled to come back. I told them that the repair was not complete, and they said he could come back out on the 16th. I told them that was not possible as the sod was due to be put in on the 12th. On 5 August 24, I told them I would look for some other company that could come out sooner. On 5 August 2024, I noticed that my yard was flooded out. I saw the water coming from the same area as the technician had been working. I turned off the valve to prevent further water loss. I immediately called the Water Elf to report the emergency. I called twice (during business hours) with no response. Two days later I called again, and they answered and said they never checked their voice mails. They said that they would send someone out that day after the rain stopped. That did not happen. The manager of the Water Elf called me 9 August 24 and said that they were coming out to pick up a controller the technician left here. I asked them to fix the water leak when they came out. She refused and began yelling at me. She accused me of messing with the system by turning off the valve. I cannot believe that this business could in good faith rip off a Senior Citizen and Disable Veteran like this. read more
