The lodge we stayed in, and the main lodge are infested with mice. We asked other guests who also had the same problem. We saw and heard mice scampering around at night... we set up traps, and every morning we'd find a mouse in each trap. The lodges are quite comfortable and functional but the MICE are unacceptable.

North Woods was well worth the journey and the Karoke {wkends) was special! Staff friendly and extremely helpful--stayed at the inn Four(4) occasions! I booked a reservation in February 2023 for May2023--a group of six(6) in Three(3) KING ROOMS(@ $280.00 each). I did not hear or have any communication with THE PINES until I CALLED THEM five (5) days before Our arrival in May. I spoke with a fast-talking employee who informed me that the KITCHEN was closed until June One-also the kitchen at the pub bar located just outside the main lodge. I was also branded"rude" by her because of my concerns. I also tried to calm us BOTH down but, SHE was having none of it! Our conversation ended on a very sarcastic " have a nice day!" The whole resasoning of traveling to this resorts was the Fact that ONE DID NOT HAVE TO DRIVE while eating and having a few drinks--NO DUi ! I called leaving a message for the OWNER(S) which was not addressed.. I did not persue a Refund for the monies put down for the reservations--THIS REVIEW is worth the price of Saving even one person from booking a stay. It is a very sad commentary to experience this unprofessional business attitude towards new and/or old customers. What kind of RESORT lets you Book in Advance and then Closes their kichens for renovations?? And dont inform their outstanding reseservation until way past the cancellation period?? Good Luck if this place remains your choice--stay in touch with them especially if you re coming to them from a distance.

First time staying at Nelson's Cottages and so glad we made the choice. We stayed in a motel unit…read morefor two nights. All linens provided (sheets, pillows, towels) which made it convenient for our short stay. If there was anything else needed, Julie, the owner, had it covered. She was wonderful to work with. Anything you may need Nelson's had it covered from crockpots to gas/ charcoal grills. Kids took advantage of the basketball area and ping-pong table. Kayaks were available for use as well as paddle boards or canoe. Location was perfect as a walk into town took less than 10 minutes and saved on trying to find a place to park. Many hiking trails/mountains in the area and short drive to towns just outside the area. oh, and the best place to view the sunsets were right there on the dock!! We hope to stay again next year!

I shouldn't have to click some link randomly texted to me. Or call the phone number 4 times before I get a live person Apparently it is an airbnb because I got no housekeeping service. Now I'm wondering why I got charged a resort fee when this is not a resort. They advertise all these great TV channels but I can't even find MNF. No microwave. That's like a basic thing. I've got a mini fridge though. And apparently they never heard of ADA compliance. Why sure I'll hobble my ass up a flight of stairs with a 50lb suitcase. No dresser. Guess I'll live out of my suitcase this week. Can't find the thermostat. I have half a mind to call the property manager up. But it's 0100 and I'm feeling generous. The only place to put my laptop has no outlets available nearby. I've had to run the cord halfway across the room to connect to a 4-outlet adapter that is glued to a nightstand for some reason. So that the nightstand with a table lamp sits in the middle of the room also.

Also we had booked a "lakeside queen" room -it technically was lakeside but not the side with the windows which faced the parking side of property. I guess if you want to see the water from your room you must say the words "lake view". We only stayed one night so will know for next time. There is a beautiful lobby/ sitting area with fireplace ( I never saw an actual person at front desk). If you need anything they seem to respond best by text. It may be the time of year but it was basically a couple of people that managed questions. Breakfast is self serve in lobby area with coffee etc. There is a refrigerator with juices, milk, bagels, fruits to help yourself. Overall we enjoyed our stay but will probably request a different room next time

The proprietor, Jean, is SUPER friendly. He lent us a deck of cards, gave us helpful directions on which hikes to take and how to get there, and was noticeably friendly with other guests as well. Not a "fancy" place, but very cozy and comfortable, and great for people who want a low key getaway with options for relaxing near the cottages or hiking nearby. Check it out.

Kenmore cottages are located on 4th lake, and are conveniently located to both Old Forge and Inlet…read more I stayed in Pine cabin, which has been recently converted into an all season cottage. There was no ac, however even when the temperature was in the high 80's the whole cabin stayed pleasantly cool and comfortable. The television was rather small, but this doesn't really matter as I didn't come up to a lake in the mountains to sit and watch tv. The only complaint that I have is that the bathroom in Pine is located inside the master bedroom so that if you have to go to the bathroom in the night you have to walk through someone else's room. This was a minor inconvenience. There is a beach area that has a half court for basketball, a bonfire pit, swings and room for other activities for kids. Near the cabins them selves there are picnic tables and charcoal grills to use. There are also canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats available. All this means that there is plenty to keep kids and adults active and busy outside. The proprietors are very friendly and live on site in close proximity to their guests. I had a great time here and will definately recomend Kenmore to others.
