We got in the elevator and all the electricity went out and the elevator began to fall and then stuck inside with no lights or a/c until the fire department got there 30 minutes inside with my wife and an 11 year old girl. It was the scariest experience we've ever had. I asked the manager to comp the one $70 night stay for that specific night, (not the night before) and he refused and just offered me water. I also had 4 bites on me after the stay, when originally I thought there wasn't bugs. It was terrible. I enjoyed the hot tub and the pool, but not the experience of a falling elevator and being stuck inside. It was horrible. The staff was trying to be nice, but should have took care of 1 of the 2 nights I stayed considering the horrific circumstances. Probably both nights to be honest. We felt like it was the end.

Several things make up my opinion of this place, but the best one is summed up in one word: KIM! Kim is amazing! Truly the BEST. She always has a smile, and is ready to help in any way. There was one thing that need attention; we didn't ask for help at the time, as we were trying to enjoy every minute there, but the bathroom area sink takes forever to drain. It obviously needs to be cleaned out. And the shower area door wouldn't shut correctly. The room did have great climate control, and the fridge was nice and cold. Both the interior and exterior are well maintained. We were fortunate that during our stay the desk staff present were so cordial and just really friendly. It's pretty cool that in addition to the breakfast area there's also a separate den. The set up of our suite reminded me of Marriott Towne Place where I typically stay. The breakfast was magnificent for a hotel. I stay in hotels frequently and I was pleasantly surprised by the fruit station and hot food offerings and Staybridge serves the good bacon y'all. I was forced to stay in hotels for a couple days while my apartment's AC is getting repaired, and with this heat wave, I decided to try this location and treat myself to a good time at the Stockyards. The hotel is clean, organized and very comfortable. I spent an hour at the gym before returning to my suite and enjoying the great amenities they have to offer. From the eye candy layout, spacing and perfect accomodations, I couldn't have asked for more. The gym has free water, towels, mats and ear pods to use. I enjoyed taking my showers, utilized the office table space and couch. I stayed at a suite with 1 King Bed. Everything was wonderful. The only thing I'd point out is that breakfast starts at 6:30, not 6 like what I'd assumed. I wished they started earlier as I had to check out at latest 6:35 to head for work. During the little time I was able to get breakfast, they had a good variety of options. Sausages, eggs, potatoes, bagels, toast, yogurt, you name it. Everything looks fresh and I'm glad I was able to eat a plate before leaving. Also!! Parking is not free at this location even if you're a Hyatt member. It's $20 as of July 2026.

There doesn't seem to be valet (or any kind of help noticable) when checking in. Not that I needed it, but that was my first impression. Parking is in the "Permit" required areas. Okay -- kind of figured that out snaking around the building but it should all be easier to understand coming in cold. Being part of a group, with a block of rooms, I booked a king with a sofabed. Ideally, I wanted two queens but I was too lazy at the time to call and ask and of course they were sold out at check in. Okay, no problem, I have that sofabed and for two nights we can deal with it. As we left for dinner I stopped at the desk asking if it could be made up for our return. Well, you would have thought I was asking them to do something illegal. Ah, no, I don't think we can do that. Let me check with the manager. Nope. Can't do that, and housekeeping has already left for the day. Everything SHOULD be there for you when it opens up and everything else needing SHOULD be in the closet. Well, it was but that experience was just a little weird. Otherwise, the hot and humid room did cool off with the AC after not too long and the place has a great location just around the corner from the real action of what reminds me of a mini Nashville.
